Celebrating the 1st anniversary of my published debut novel - Thank You For The Kiss - a memoir - set over a period of nine months in Cuba
I had never planned to write a memoir or travelogue of my trip to Cuba, but it was during the first lockdown of the pandemic back in 2020 that I felt the need to stretch myself and make use of the many travel diaries I had accumulated over the years.
Funnily enough I did not write up a diary of all my time in Cuba, over nine months, but just kept very sketchy notes. So by chance during a creative writing, memoir course, I began to jot down episodes of my time there. Those episodes began to take the form of a full blown memoir and my sketchy notes became THANK YOU FOR THE KISS - as my logline says
