This hotel is known to be haunted, people have jumped off before after losing at the Genting casino nearby. People staying there recently have heard sctraches, pounding on the doors windows at night. Hence the cheap rates. Try staying there one night
There's a room with a wooden plank horizontally blocking it, a lady committed suicide there so they locked the room

Also, in Malaysia, most homes (terrace houses, apartments, condos) have gates just like what you saw in that place. However, if Amber court is a hotel, I don't understand why they have gates outside the doors?? That looks weird. Hmm..

I'm a Malaysian and I can confirm you although this place is still partly inhabited, the haunting is very, very real. You can google it up from blogs and such but most of them are in Malay.

Before I was born, my family went to Genting Highlands for a holiday. Everything was unexpected. They once told me that when they slept at Amber Court for their first night, all of them heard like their windows being scratched. Idk if its true or not but that's what they told me. One thing, Malaysians and Singaporeans might know this haunted highway at Malaysia..Karak Highway. It was known for its fatal accidents and something caused the vehicles to crash. So if whoever had drove on Karak Highway at NIGHT..you know what I mean.

OMG you can still book this accomodation. By Expedia for €32,- p/night! When you read the experiances/revieuws of guests its realy bad.
so ok, for situations when you encounter a padlocked door in an abandoned place; you need to bring bolt cutters and fresh pad locks to replace the lock that you break with the bolt cutters. leave the keys to the new lock laying near by so the people who locked the door can find them. just for the next time you might encounter another padlock door and you really really want to get in there and take a look around. perhaps you can leave behind a pre written apology note that also states all keys to the lock are on the key ring left behind so they dont worry about having to change the lock again. hey! spare no expense right?? shouldnt be too expensive especially since most house holds have bolt cutters and new padlocks just in case they need them. good luck!!

Genting Highlands First World Hotel is also haunted. Stayed for three days two years ago by my freaking self for a so called adventure. I did not feel a good vibe the moment i arrived. When nightfall, i hear furnitures moving and shower and toilet light turned on and off and the sound of a woman whimpering in the middle of the night for 2 nights. Felt someone was strangling me with a rope and murmering softly somefhing when i was half asleep. Heard a child cry at the corridor at 1am when i was heading to my room afte. Hair stood at the back of my spine. It had been a terrifying ordeal. I will never want to go up there again.
Its not really abandoned. Those days it use to be like for genting staff quarters and some units belong to house owners where they rent out rooms and property to staffs and since they build up new buildings on another side most of them move which leave almost entirely empty but some stays and still renting out units for people who's coming for vacation trip like a chalet apartment daily rent n stuff like that. The hotels in Genting is always fully booked and quite expensive too, so amber court is like a second option for a holiday stay. Not really a hotel. Haunted?Yes of course during night time only. This place is "protected" by u know...and is kept safe in a few units which is prohibited entry. But outsiders like drug addicts, crazy people, asking for death,they all go there at night and vandalized stuff.
i wish i could visit with you guys because it would have been a great adventure!!!!

subscribed . I live in America and there is a city near me on the coast that was a real bitch exploring . lots of very affluent places closed for good a long time ago and everything is still in tact . great art deco walls etc. but I haven't been since the late 90sgetting old does that I guess

The place used to be a mushroom farm. Guess those balcony's resemble mushrooms - like how they grow out the sides of trees. That in 1942 they slaughtered all the farmers and people. The place is spooky.

Don’t know whether still relevant after 5 years. Most people that stay in Amber Court are constructions workers that work at the nearby constructions site.

As far as i know, part of this building is hotel and some of it is an apartment, someone house. Maybe thats why this building are still not demolish

Schutzstaffel Due to what happened when the Japanese occupied Malaysia during WW2. Many areas within Malaysia are stained with a brutal past from this era from Japanese occupation Same with Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Also the not just the older history of the genting highlands but also these apartments. At one time amber court was a popular hotel for guest who where staying in genting highlands in order to have a gambling vacation (think of it like the Malaysian Las Vegas). Some people would go as far as to bet their whole life savings or the savings from their business and end up going bust, so the spot itself has been prone to many sucidides in the past from people throwing themselves out the windows.
Also amber court has had a few brutal murders as well.
On incident was due to a couple staying in a room and they kept getting weird experiences like doors and cupboards banging in the room and feelings of being dragged out of the bed and other things like feeling dizzy and migraines etc.
They also complained of a really foul odor coming from the room.
They complained about and the hotel when investigating the smell found a body crammed inside the bed and it sewn back up.
It turns out the person had been murdered and whoever done it tried to hide the body this way.
If you search up about genting highlands and amber court you will find a lot of things from the news and Also people’s experiences from the place.
Mostly in bahasa Malaysian but now a days we have google translate built into google chrome so just click on “translate page” into your native language and it will do it for you. Some sentences might sound weird as translation isn’t always perfect but you can get the just and figure out what’s being said from the context.
