i was like wtf date did you just say. lol this happened when i was in school. and 2018 was after my son was born. 2 completely different times in my life so trying to remember this event mixed with then had my brain going "WHAT!!??"
Growing up he was a direct influence on my drumming. I never tried to be like him but to this day he’s left an imprint on my style like no one else has.
I remember hearing Adam's song for the first time and just being blown away about how simple but techy his drums were. I never realized that drums could be anything as long as they were kept in perfect timing. He opened a new world for me.
@@rareblues78daddy I bet you name-drop jazz drummers to feel like your taste is sophisticated. All the while not knowing that every good (actual) drummer has good things to say about Travis, regardless of the pop music he plays.
Just funny when you talk to drummers and even famous Rock'n Rollers, they never have him listed in their top. Is best punk rock drummer, but would not say one of the best of all time. Not even in top 100...
@@mulbeauty1305 He plays pop music - they wouldn't list him instinctively. But anyone with an ear understands they're dealing with a gifted person. "All time" is a big label, but he can easily do any major rock band's style. As well as the much touted Mars Volta. Insisting that he isn't Buddy Rich or Thomas Haake is stupid. He's way closer to their adventurous streak than the majority of his genre peers.
I think you really skimmed over that fact that he has single-handedly reinvigorated pop punk the last 3 years drumming for Kenny Hoopla, Avril, and a reinvented MGK
Shady won their 'battle', but it was obviously started just for publicity for MGK, so I don't think it did that much of a number on him. I would bet $100 his genre transition was purely financially motivated. Avril is teenage girl music as well, and to a lesser extent the entire genre is, but what is your point? His drumming is still great on both those albums.

That plane crash happened a couple of minutes from my house and remember the sound of the trucks and ambulance. Little did I know it was one of my favorite drummers.
Muisicians of ALL TIME? I mean mate, christ, I can understand he played in an important band for teenagers in the 90s and he is a decent, even good drummer, I can concede that. But musician of all time? All time? Vivaldi. Bach. Mozart. Puccini. Miles Davies. The Beatles. Pink Floyd. Prince AND Travis Barker. Sure, it sounds about right. Beethoven 7th and Adam song, same level of musicianship. The Dark Side of the Moon and All the small things? Surely the latter is far superior. Now go on fans, downvote me to hell, but you know it in your heart, the fact that you grew your emotional side while listening to Blink doesn't make it better that it is.
I think what makes Travis Barker special is that he's the most creative drummer. He invents new grooves all the time and it's fun to listen to. Most other drummers usually just like to stick to common rhythms or be only technical.
"one of the greatest drummers of all time almost worked for target instead of blink 182" is so devastating because 100% we are missing out on some of the most incredible art that could be created because its almost impossible to be an artist for a real living. I personally know a handfull of musicians in that position, people who bleed music and write the most creative stuff but rarely get the chance to because of working normal jobs to barely get by. It's so shit. I have nearly given up on music myself many times because it so unforgiving to try and even make a band financially sustainable let alone make money from it personally. You burn out doing five jobs at once just to be in a band and not get paid.
THANK YOU! I was a teen drummer because Travis and you made me remember why I choose this instrument. What I cant remember is why I just stopped and never tried again...
I'm so jealous 😮😮 I saw them in Copenhagen and I would wish I had the money and tickets to go to Stockholm the night after, and then to Oslo to see them ...
12:13 might want to rethink that, you should see all the pyrotechnic effects that he works around, hes got flames shooting up around him, at least during this most recent tour
Edit: dude you have the most bad ass cymbal set up. I love how it sounds and how they look. I love the kits he plays on. OCDP makes some insane bass drums, on the flip side El Estepario Siberiano is bringing to light Varus in a big way. Ive always loved the Varus brand but like Sonor its expensive. But as they grow so does their catalog and some kits are becoming more affordable without sacrificing the quality.
I wasn’t a fan back in the day but my wife turned me on to them over the past few years and seen them in concert a few months ago and I’m sold. That band is bad ass. All of them are bad ass.
It's not a "fanny pack"..., it's a "satchel"..., which is cool. Indiana jones had one, so... Great video. Thanks for putting this together! Will seem them back together next week in Amsterdam, can't wait!
I feel that he wanted to help them both out on side projects because he loved them he didn’t want to see his fro fighting. And he wanted both of them to know that.
Travis made drums cool, Mark made bass cool and Tom... well Tom didn't made guitar cool because it was already cool, but he made believing in aliens cool, blink-182 is really something!
Travis was going to be a star regardless of if he was blinks drummer or not... but damn does he fit that band like a glove... he made blink such a better band.
Correction: Travis’ plane crash happened in 2008

I think you meant 2008? The plane crash wasn’t in 2018
True🥁🔥🥁
That threw me off when he said it lol, good looking out 👍
Yeah 2008…lol
Hahahaha I ran to the comments the second he said 2018 😂 I was like there is no way this a Mandela effect

Truly one of the greatest drummers! Barker just always seems to get better and creative. Inspiring to be creative on the drums, and just have fun!

Travis' work ethic is really what stands out to me. Yes, he's talented but he is always working and pushing. Mad respect for him.
The Transplants continues to be my favorite Travis project outside of Blink. If you never heard, go and enjoy to some great Punk and Hip Hop blend.
Last track off haunted cities 🤟🏻 got that Loco drum

@gordonjeffrey8616 I can drum and play guitar better than MGAY. He got absolutely crushed by shady, that was my point.
without mgk idk if pop punk would be as popular this time he really helped bring a lot of new fans to the scene

When I saw Blink live, Travis cut his finger open on stage. He proceeded to super glue it shut on stage and continue his crazy skills minutes later.
Is bro ok what
Incredibly well put together video. This was a great watch, cheers mate!
That plane crash happened a couple of minutes from my house and remember the sound of the trucks and ambulance. Little did I know it was one of my favorite drummers.
Truly is one of the greatest drummers, if not, MUSICIANS of ALL TIME
Muisicians of ALL TIME? I mean mate, christ, I can understand he played in an important band for teenagers in the 90s and he is a decent, even good drummer, I can concede that.
But musician of all time? All time?

They’re so punk! Lead vocal of that one guy is so &@%ing annoying.
Sick video bro, and I love all of the song you choose from blink, boxcar, and +44
This Series is absolutly amazing !
This video covered a whole bunch. Great job!
THANK YOU! I was a teen drummer because Travis and you made me remember why I choose this instrument. What I cant remember is why I just stopped and never tried again...
Wow I've been loving this guy without even knowing who he was . Amazing Soul
crazy timing, I just finished his book Can I Say! love these vids and now we have one with the goat? thanks gabe
For me his best works are on self titled, neighborhoods, enema, BCR, the first transplants album, half of plus 44.
I would absolutely looooooooove to see you 2 do a collab drum solo 😍🤘🏼
Please make more of these videos I love them
2008 son!!!!!!!!!!! I remember it like it was yesterday
I can’t wait to see them when they come to New Zealand!! It’s been so long!
A very well done video! 👏🥁❤
watched them 2 nights in a row during their EU tour this year, they're better than ever
I'm so jealous 😮😮 I saw them in Copenhagen and I would wish I had the money and tickets to go to Stockholm the night after, and then to Oslo to see them ...
The drum rolls in 'Remember To Forget Me' were sick too!!!!!
Hopefully one day you can do one of these on Matt Mingus, such a sick drummer!
Awesome video!
Great video, thanks for making this!
having the chance to watch these live in oct was hands down the best gig ive ever been too
11:38 yes their self titled album was freaking insane a true masterpiece, and also “Take Off Your Pants And Jacket” that was an amazing album as well
Blink hasn’t made a bad album yet. The new album is dope (it’s not Enema or the Self Titled, but it’s the best pop punk album of recent history)
Subbed for Travis collab! Good luck!🤘🏼
Saw live at the O2 this week absolutely brilliant!!!
The bridge in 'Dogs eating dogs' is my favorite beat of all time. Cool vid!
Travis Barker's real impossible job is being married to a Kardashian
Lmfao, facts 💯 💯 💯 💯
Travis is beast, we can all agree on this, I know we can
Love your videos broo 🥁🔥🙌
“Traevis Barkay” 😂😂 My favourite drummer by far.
Subbing hoping that one day you get that drum solo🤙🏽

Good video. I knew all this information but still entertaining. Thanks
I was a massive TB fan up until the Kardashian's thing. I still love his music, Transplants and BCR being some of my favourite.
Great job bro!
I like this video. This is so complete about Travis.
Love Travis!
This is amazing 😇😍. Would really love to see one for `The Impossible Job of I Prevail Drummer`. Would be so blastic ❤🔥❤🔥💥

SJC is definitely the new OCDP. Varus is cool, but definitely more metal leaning
My favorite drummer of all time
You should really do one on Erik "Smelly" Sandin of NOFX. Definitely one of the most underrated and wild drummers out there.
I wasn’t a fan back in the day but my wife turned me on to them over the past few years and seen them in concert a few months ago and I’m sold. That band is bad ass. All of them are bad ass.
This is a great video!!

Original drummer Scott didnt quit, he was fired for his drinking habit being out of control.
I always heard that he quit to go to college. Where did you hear about the drinking thing???

Great video, love the story of going all in with tatoos 😅
Great video, I hope you get to a mil and get Travis on! :) - side note, their album is "Untitled" not "Self Titled".
I saw blink at reading festival, i think in 2004 type time and he duid his upside down shit, that was epic 🎉❤
Im off to see Blink this Sunday, can wait to see Travis play again :)
