I am a different kind of collector, I tend to buy used but not abused babies. The prices seem to drop after a few years so i just wait. I display my babies mostly on shelves. I buy their clothes in thrift stores. I have about 120 reborns now. I tend to change everyone for Halloween and Christmas. I am not into role play or taking them out in public etc. I don't even sit and cuddle them. Many people from the reborn community tell me that is wrong. But i don't think there is any right or wrong way to collect.

I only have one reborn. He had one other “mom.” My second baby should be here tomorrow. She is a custom. You actually pointed me to the artist, Cari Compton. I like very realistic looking dolls. I have a couple other baby dolls and some porcelain dolls. I want a Madison by Andrea Arcello. Because I only have the one doll right now I try not to change him more than a couple times a week at the very most. I’ve bought most of his clothes at garage sales or thrift stores. I have a lot of clothes for my new baby because I hit a really good garage sale. They might or might not fit her but I can resell them. I don’t want to ruin her but changing her too much. I love baby clothes and changing them is what I really like.

Hello, I am an artist but also a collector. I am very hands on, I have them to hold make their hair dress them up, I am very careful because I know how much work it takes, especially the rooting, and how much the supplies cost, but I want to enjoy them fully. I only buy and paint the baby dolls that I fall in love with.

I collect the ones who appeal to me, cant resist a cute face or a pulled in lip like my Ava sculpt, my cot was secondhand and fixed up, most of my things/toys/clothes come from The Wharehouse/thrift stores here in New Zealand, similar to a Target or Walmart, collected dolls since I was a kid, only sometimes do I shop at the Baby factory, love all dolls, love my Raggy Ann and Andy, love your channel and enjoy seeing all the babies, I'm hands on love my cuddles, love to get and fix up second hand dolls to,

I'm new to the hobby. I've bought Ashton Drake and Paradise Galleries for my daughter but just now bought my first reborn dolls ($250 & $350) for myself. I was so panicked for spending this money at first, but I love them. I've turned a little walk-in closet in my bedroom into their nursery.

I collect like you do. I have a mixture of differant kinds. Most I do not hold because they are fragile. Antiques and porcelain dolls.
I do have reborn dolls I hold and change their clothes. My full silicone dolls I hold but don't change their clothes. I keep them in white sweater outfits. I will wash them and powder them when they start feeling sticky.
My grandaughters know the dolls they can play with. I keep dolls for them when they visit. Fun, Fun, enjoy❣️

Hi misty I am definitely a hands on collector I think its just part of the experiance but I do understand why people would just keep their babies in a glass case to protect or admire them but I could never do that because I would always be wanting to hold the babies!

I also go for dolls who I fall in love with it ..i love dressing them and styling their hair..for my toddlers who have long hair and when I'm watching a movie I like to grab a bub to hold!! 😊

I'd rather adopt them myself as well. I have adopted lap doggies / rescued as well. Someone that can no longer take care of them or that have passed. These 2 are so beautiful babies 👶. I just want one I can cuddle, talk to and love ❤️. More hands on I'm old, disabled and get lonely at times. These two are so gorgeous 😍 💖. Love your channel.

Hi I'm 62 years old and have just started collecting I don't have any expensive ones yet but my favorites are the silicone. So far I just have the small ones that aren't painted I've been watching many videos on how to paint them and I think that I'm ready to give it a try. I've been working with polymer clay for close to 5 years now. I've seen reborn clay babies that are amazing but I'm drawn to the silicone babies the most. Thanks and God bless 🙏

I’m all hands on with my babies. Love changing and photos of them. Enjoy shopping for them . One thing I find is that I cannot bond with babies I haven’t done myself. But I guess if the right one comes along I will.

I always put my babies in white onesies under their clothes. Lol
I just go for what pulls of the heart strings and makes me happy. I feel like my collection is really rounding out. It was beautiful before but it’s really coming together. I started out with budget babies because my comfort level just wasn’t that high. I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on a doll and then decide I didn’t want to get into the hobby after all. It took me quite a while to raise the bar a bit but I still refuse to pay thousands and thousands of dollars for a doll. I’d say over the last year, I have really graduated to a higher quality level of babies. Oh, I still have my budget ones. I was actually going to sell them but I’m just an old sentimental fool because I just couldn’t. Even though I have higher quality dolls, these ones are still special because that’s what I started out with, and you can’t get those kits anymore. They do have their place in my heart although I tend to gravitate toward my higher quality babies, especially when making videos. I paid $800 for a very rare sold out LE kit and let me tell you, that took courage. However, I realize that it was definitely a very fair price for her, I couldn’t not have her, and I was OK with shelling out, especially with the artist letting me make payments on her. My husband was super chill about it. I felt I was going to have to justify that kind of price but he was awesome. I think it helps that we both are into another collectible item, which can also get into a bit of money, so he knows where I was coming from Your tastes and comfort level changes, as you know. I decided from day one, however, that I wasn’t going to try to keep up with the Joneses. I get what makes me happy and show that on my channel. I’m like you. I shop at Amazon especially but will do Walmart, and I’ve also gotten big lots of clothing and stuff on eBay. I totally refused to spend $500 on one single outfit. To me, that is simply insane. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose, but I’m happy doing exactly what I’m doing. nope, I have never bid on a baby for the same reason you have stated. I know myself and would get too carried away, then kick myself for spending way too much money. It’s either buy it now or don’t buy it at all. 😀

I'm not too hands on with my dolls as I really have them more so I can knit, crochet and sew their outfits and I love dressing them for seasons and holidays. I own lots of different doll types like American Girls, Barbies and a variety of baby dolls. Just whatever looks cute to me. I'll buy what I want but I haven't splurged in the thousands. A doll for $30,000+, holy moly that's a car!😳 I'd like to see that doll! Wow, lol.

I am into the bigger babies (toddler size) recently but I have all sizes in my collection. I have tons of clothes for each of them. I have purchased things from thrift stores and yard sale as well as I have ordered new clothes on line.

I mostly like Limited Edition sculpts and I buy clothes anywhere. I am not really attracted to silicone dolls. The first silicone I ever saw was on Ebay for $25000.

Did you sell Emma? I have a Riley kit myself that I bought secondhand. I've named mine Sophia. They are definitely on the lower end of silicone collecting, but for me silicone snuggle babies is a good affordable option. With this particular sculpt I love her face.

I only buy what I can afford and what I like the most. I often have to save money to buy a doll. I enjoy dressing the babies and holding them. I also started a UA-cam channel about 3 months ago. I am really having fun joining in on #Theme days. And answering questions to #TAGS that go around. This has made the hobby even more fun for me.

My family thought I was losing my mind too! I don’t care what they think! You can start off with Paradise Galleries dolls like I did and they have a $25 a month payment plan but they send you the doll with the first payment and you can pay the rest monthly later. 💗

I’m a Hands on collector for sure, I tend to get reborn kits and paint them myself as the kits I want are pretty pricey when it’s painted and reborned and I love having to experience having to chose the skin tone of the baby, weigh them as heavy or as light as I want or add tiny details like birthmarks or little scratches, I have 6 so far in my collection but in my opinion I think it’s a lot and am looking to downsize, I’m at the same time also love displaying my reborns especially if I get a brand new outfit, that baby ain’t leaving that outfit for a while😂 I love shopping at thrift store as you never know the treasures you’ll find! I would love to take my reborns out someday, I did take one of my bigger reborn out for half an hour mostly in a car but my anxiety always tend to refrain myself from actually going out with one of my reborns😭
I have a hard time with outings too! I’m with you on smaller collections! I cannot have more than 10 babies at once.
At the beginning, I was definitely the kind who hold and changed my baby a lot! I had never sold one of my babies and don’t plan for now even if they’re not « high end »! Their artist made beautiful job on them and I simply adore them! ❤️❤️❤️
Now that I know more about it, I tend to be more careful so the direct interaction is less often.
As I began to reborn myself, I also have less time to give them! Until now my mother grabbed all the babies I did! 😅
I don’t consider myself an artist as I have a lot of practicing to do before that! 😔 I can say that they’re not bad, enough for me not to through everything away! 😂😂😂
I am sooo in looove with your Michelle but sadly because I have chronic health issues my financial situation vary a lot so I am not in a position to buy! 🥲 One day maybe!! 😊

I get babies that I fall for and feel like I can bond with and I am very hands on with my babies I have 4 vinyls and getting one partcial silicone baby for Christmas 2022 and I want a full body but I need to plan ahead for that one
I am VERY hands on and even sleep with my little girl. She's silicone and (OH LAWD) a Cosdoll silicone! I buy thrift, mercari, Amazon, Carter's whatever I want. I accidentally got on a Facebook page that only let's you sell expensive babies. I seen a stuffed baby be $5,000.. It's crazy because he had a belly plate and it was a Venga baby..he was cute but not $5,000.. I got my 1 for $150.. for anxiety and found that I love her, she doesn't have hair and I love my life and can deal with stress better and she has so many outfits. I tried a vinyl from Amazon and it didn't work for me. I love that you're more like me.. Where do you buy from? I want one that is asleep, eyes open kinda creep me out.. I just put hats on my bald asleep girl..lol ❤💯 your channel!

I love all types of dolls even silicone dolls but I can't afford silicone I barely can afford the vinyl dolls there's a collector in around where I live she sells them pretty affordable for me because I think she's a new artist painting them so I only got a couple of them from her but I love them all I actually have six dolls arrange from my oldest one I had from when my husband first got me she's 22 years old her name is Hermione then I have five others from another artist because I had to get Hermione fixed from her so the five others is Malachi I forget what his scope is that I got the Pearl sculpt which I kept her name Pearl then I have Felicity sculpting River and then I have one that I don't know the scope of he's a preemie I named him Andy so I got Malachi Pearl Andy River and Hermione I have one that's not a reborn doll it's just a regular doll from Amazon I named him I named him Harold kente yes I'm very Hands-On with my babies I like change no clothes and I like holding them and changing their diapers and have cute little diapers for them when I can afford them I get a lot of my clothes at the thrift stores for them and then sometimes at Walmart when they're on sale
