Thank you so much for sharing! Such a great tutorial. Have you ever found that with the single hangman's knot (hidden under the loops at the end) that it comes out or unravels since it isn't doubled up? This hasn't happened to me, just want to be extra sure!
I am wondering. Is it possible to do this around a wire, the size of the wire in a wreath. Put the beginning on a dowel, so it can be taken off and closed easily?
I have never tried this pattern around a wire but it should work. If you are looking to make a wreathe you could also make the pattern on a dowel, remove it, and hot glue it to your wreathe form. Let me know how it works out!
It’s about 21 cm from the top of the clip to the bottom of the gathering knot and the loop is about 4 inches. I try to make these the same length as store bought cloth pacifier clips but you can always adjust the length.
Thinner string will work. You may need to use more string to achieve the same overall width. You will also need to make more knots to achieve the same overall length.
@@RachelColton , I want so many colors, for my granddaughter she is always dropping it and is so attached to that pacifier, but it’s so expensive getting all the colors I like
Can you tell me the size and type of cord/rope you are using for this and the keychain projects? Do you have a place to buy the supplies inexpensively?
The dusty rose and dusty mustard used for the pacifier clips are 3mm string from niromastudio.com. The natural color string used for the keychains is 3mm single strand cotton string from knotandropesupply.com. I also purchase string and rope from modernmacrame.com. I usually purchase my hardware from the craft store or amazon.
@@RachelColton I'm a beginner so maybe was just a bit out of my depth. I watched a beginner tutorial and then I understood this more and made a legendary paci clip! It took me 2 tries to get rid of the gaps but it's awesome! Thank you so much!
Amazon. I purchased these 25pcs 1" Pacifier Suspender... www.amazon.com/dp/B00JFTFPHK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. You can probably also find them at craft and fabric stores.
It’s a really tricky knot to get the hang of. See if this video helps you get the hang of the diagonal clove hitch ua-cam.com/video/5wgGSCIOXk0/v-deo.html. Then come back and try making the pacifier clip.
@@RachelColton thank you so much! It turns out I was doing the knot incorrectly but inverting it. I haven't perfected it, but it's coming along and looks much better than it did before.
This is really pretty! Would be a bit more helpful to go slower and make sure hands aren't in the way. I've been trying for a few hours and cant get past the first 9 minutes.
It’s a tricky knot to master. Try searching for videos that just show the diagonal clove hitch and maybe practice with some pieces of rope on a dowel or something and then come back to this!
@@RachelColton is it possible to slow down the video? If I was learning, I would just pause the video. Just go by the numbers at the bottom to find your place
Apologies that the last step is unclear. You need to make a loop for the pacifier and then a gathering knot around all the strings. You need to secure the pacifier loop so that it doesn’t pull out. You can tie the end of the loop to one of the other strings and then form the gathering knot. You can use a hangman’s knot (there are tutorials available for this knot from other creators). Or you can hot glue the end of the loop to the other strings and then form a gathering knot.
Than you for actually talking during your video and not just playing some boring music! Love the video! Lots of good explaining!
You’re welcome! Glad it was helpful!
By far my favorite design I've found so far for macrame pacifier clip tutorials. Thank you for sharing! =)

So will be 21cm + 4in with the loop? The mustard loop looks longer than the pink one?
It’s about 21 cm from the top of the clip to the bottom of the gathering knot and the loop is about 4 inches. I try to make these the same length as store bought cloth pacifier clips but you can always adjust the length.
Working on this for my road trip
Awesome! Let me know how it goes!
Are these macarame cords in cotton?
Yes these are cotton string.
Will 1 mm be good enough?
Thinner string will work. You may need to use more string to achieve the same overall width. You will also need to make more knots to achieve the same overall length.

How long are the actual strings cut at? Thank you!
Jessica Repstock three strings at approximately 86 inches each.

The end is bad. I didnt see, what i must do, to finish the clip.....:(

How would this pattern work with 4 loops on instead of 3?
It will work the same. You will have longer diagonal lines and the finished product will be wider.
