Love what you have done here, I am a Brit who used to live 4 miles away at the military base, we loved Famagusta, the people there were fantastic.....I was also born in Cyprus....this brings a tear to my eyes, bless you.
Peter, I have just subscibed to your PPV channel on Patrion and viewed the full video of the latest flight over Varosha. You take a few clips from that flight and include them on this video. You fly in nice and low and as someone who used to live in Varosha, I can say that the full viideo of this flight is quite magnificent and spectacular. You even flew over the old open air cinema in the centre of town where I spent many an enjoyable evening in the summer of 1973.
Hi Peter, excellent video, very exciting and with a real story! Always looking forward to your next video. The footage of the flight was beautiful and as clear as seeing yourself. Keep it up! Cheers.
Peter I am speechless you remined me of fall of berlin wall .god bless you I love your videos and technique, you are wonderfull person continue .I love the videos on Varosha .I like your permisson to add clips on varosha to my video clips I am making .
Cor! Wow! What excitement, it sure has me riveted, my Nvidia disconnects so I use my Crystal Sky (superior light picture) which screen records regardless so forgetting to record is no problem, we all forget record under pressure. Brilliant man, brilliant.
Peter, that is an amazing video! Thank you so much for sharing! now you just need to turn down the volume on your tablet so it's not so loud! Excellent Work!
Peter I really enjoy all your videos. But now your really onto something captivating. Best of luck, and I hope you will be able to do a low sweep through part of the city.
I thought I was the only one who forgot to hit record! LOL! Good to know it can happen to anyone when you get in a hurry! Great stuff! Keep it coming! :)
I've done this also Peter. I've flown a very detailed 8000 meter mission like 70% battery used and didn't press record. At least with Litchi you just fly it again.
Dynamic homepoint does not update to homepoint on your phone or tablet. It is really only used in active track as far as I know, when it detecting that it is following you around, it will update the homepoint to the drones current position for better battery runtime accuracy
NeverMindYourOwn gotcha.... well either way it’s mostly for tracking and following, shouldn’t effect you. Watching you videos has inspired me to travel more and explore and to mod my controllers for my drones. just modded my Mavic Air controller with $10 +6Dbi gain antennas I got on eBay for a WiFi router and wow the range difference is huge! My range outlasts my battery and stays solid crisp connection.
I always enjoy your videos, you have a special way of making it feel like I am there with you. If I was I would maybe find a brush and tidy up the derelict building a bit, also I like your chair, I remember you finding it outside, you look quite at home sitting there. Good luck with your future exploits. Thank you
I keep saying this. Ditch the amplifier. It's not going to make any difference to the power output of the drone and if it has a built in preamp, it'll be amplifying the interference as well as the drone tx. Best thing would be (in my opinion) a used satellite dish with your whip antenna where the LNB would normally be. Stick it on a tripod, it'll work, I promise.
@@NeverMindYourOwn yes I see this. But, you were struggling with signal reflections on the previous video you posted where you ended up taking tge booster off and got better results, and in my opinion, especially when using combination boosters and pre-amps, you'll get just as much boosted interference as you will useable signal. A dish has the added bonus of shielding the antenna from unwanted interference from behind whilst pushing all the power of your tx in a narrow direction at the same time focusing the return tx from the drone o to the antenna. I know you can't be carrying a satellite dish around Cyprus with you lol... but it might be worth looking at as a future range test experiment.
At the10:10 mark you mention that while flying a Litchi mission that if the signal is lost the aircraft will just hover. I'm not sure that's true. If the signal is lost it will continue the mission unabated. The only real downside is once the signal is lost any further programmed mission changes in gimbal angle are not executed - at least until the signal is once again recovered.
Peter on initial take off you should take the drone up 3mtrs and allow it to record the home point before taking off, this is why it is not returning accurately, worth a try ?
Hi Peter, just joined your channel. Cool things you are doing with your drones. I have Phantom 3 Pro that I bought as used device end of last year. I love this drone but although I got me a Yuneec Typhoon H as well. Which I don´t like very much because of the poor battery management. That is what is better about DJI, the "Home" calculation. Last week, the Typhoon reported "low battery" and "battery empty" within 2 minutes and I had to carry the drone 500m back to starting place by hand... I was in luck it had landed on a meadow with short grass on it... Think I will sell the Typhoon and buy a Phantom 4... Hey, I love the places you filmed, especially Varosha and the story with the so-called policemen there, which I guess they have been busybodies only. May I propose to take a footage of Prypjat, Oblast Kiew, Ukraine, close to Tchernobyl? I read about guided tours one can do there.... Well, keep on dronin´.... hope to see more of you... Best regards Chris
Or just the Mavic Pro. It can zoom in with the camera and look at whatever you want as you fly with the headset gimble control. Plus no problems with display reflections.
Nice mission, good work, shame you didn't record it! :(( Would be good if it worked like my bebop which auto records when you launch! I have forgotten to record with other drones but the bebop takes care of all that :))
@@jonb8517 still no good if you forget to turn it on! My bebop just auto records from the moment you launch regardless of any setting you make, you can of course manually stop the recording or restart it if you need to. :)
Hey make a project "I was here" put a note as much as possible to all house's gardens or roofs... Count it as much as possible.. Make the audience choose a house and make that mission in next future ones..
The recording may have stopped when you lost signal running around the house with your controller. You should leave the controller downstairs when you are moving through the house. just a thought.
Great video Peter fantastic real story behind your videos love it just watch you don’t get caught if you could get your hands on a Mavic 2 pro or zoom might be better than the drone you are using 👍👍🇬🇧
Live and learn - always gotta check record! Love the videos though, i fly a lot in Los Angeles and fly the Inspire 2 and P4 Pro as well. I've been watching for a while since you got to varosha and love the series, keep it up!!!
It's easier to forget to record in the dji app. With litchi it's never an issue....provided you turn on auto record! I actually feel like the bumbling you go through is a necessary part of the drama in your videos now. I can't imagine how boring it would be to see you have a problem free flight at this point! Glad it all worked out!
Liking the series but: 1) Dragging it out or what :-) 2) You need to make a pre-flight check list. It's not the first time you've forget something . I don't want to be negative! But it's now bordering on unprofessional.Plz don't take it as an insult, it fantastic what you did. 3) In this video why didn't you swap the memory card between flights? You could have lost what little you had? I know not much but still, preflight! I know you said stressful but that's why you have a list! 4) Why not always launch from the roof area? Having said this keep going.
1. It is worth it :D. 2. Every mission is different and there are thousands of things to think about. Lists can't cover those. In this situation I was in a hurry, because of the church bells. Thus I forgot something. 3. Be sure that I did :D. 4. Because I can be seen then from the Turkish side.

I’m curious how well the Parrot Anafi would do with Flight Path in a similar situation. The battery of the Anafi seems adequate enough.

Might be better if with a Mavic zoom for those recon missions. Much quieter and better signal
Good one Peter. You should get a Mavic 2 Pro. Just got mine. Very quiet drone indeed 😀. Larger distance than the P4P and without any extra antennas.
Don't think the M2P can outfly, distance wise, the P4P.
Or just the Mavic Pro. It can zoom in with the camera and look at whatever you want as you fly with the headset gimble control. Plus no problems with display reflections.
Pete....why with Lichi...and not with dji go4...???
You can create a flight plan without first flying it. DJI Go allows you to mark waypoints in the air and fly them afterward.

Why are you using the noisiest drone to do this? What happened to your Skydio or your mavic?
Peter only creates EXITING video's ;-)
He could use his Mavic Air even though it uses wifi. litchi uses GPS, so even if the signal is lost the drone continues on it's mission.
You HAVE to make your PREFLIGHT list :)
