Milton Keynes Central Model Railway Layout - "Making Tracks" Exhibition at Chester Cathedral

Pete Watermans model railway exhibition called "Making Tracks" set up in Chester Cathedral. The layout is based on my local station, Milton Keynes Central on the West Coast Mainline. Its incredibly realistic! A great selection of trains on the layout as well. This video shows a look at the model layout of Milton Keynes Central and some of the trains at the exhibition.
INCLUDING: Avanti West Coast Pendolino's, Voyagers and soon to be IET's. Also London Midland 350's, Caledonian Sleeper mk5's & 92. Blue Pullman & Rail Charter Services HST's and lots of freights.
A great layout, well worth a visit to Chester to see while its there!

I wish they would cover more of the BR era traction - Class 81-90 electrics with mk1/2/3 sets ect, 310 and 321 EMUs, occasional HSTs ect. The way I remember it all as a kid. But the layout it's self is spectacular. A testament to what an almost unlimited budget can achieve in the right hands.

I know it's very difficult, but I'm waiting to see a layout with working overhead catenary. I used to have a Triang set on which the catenary actually did work, although not especially realistic. This catenary is very authentic looking, but sadly, not operational as near as I can tell. Electric trains going by with no pantograph up is a giveaway; however, a couple of locos did have them raised. One even had LED arcing; that's a pretty cool effect.
