summer of 1988 in st. louis, and iron maiden is coming to town, with opening band guns n' roses...a day before the show, it's announced on kshe that gnr would not be opening, but "hurricane" would be..............there was a HUGE line at the ticket booth for refunds....idiots missed out on maiden in '88.....oh, and hurricane was really good...had seen them the previous year with stryper, and they were a good live band.
Oh my gosh, I was one of those kids with one of those tickets! I hadn't ever listened to Iron Maiden at that point (how could i have been so blind, lol!) and had never even heard of Hurricane. Went to the show--it was INCREDIBLE! Still listening to both bands over 30yrs later!!!
Get these guys on That Metal Show! Unsung & Underrated is an UNDERESTIMATE! Was lucky to have seen them live and it was an AMAZING Show, VERY tight band!
I saw Hurricane with Stryper, a handful of times during the late 80's, (Possibly mid 80's), on the same tour, and both bands were tremendous! I remember deciding to take 2 weeks vacation, & wound up seeing some other shows as well. Kelly Hansen, (I've not yet heard him with Foreigner, yet all I hear is "thumbs up"), takes a back seat to nobody (IMHO). I recall a couple of times, the lead guitar player was playing his guitar with a violin bow, (A 1st time seeing that for me), and each show, they seemed to get a little better. Those were the days, this brings back some very vivid memories! Thanks for posting!
I keep wondering where they would be if their record company hadn't imploded. They had quite a following and they were gaining more and more fans. Myself and my younger Brother were only two of them. I wish there were more live video's of them.
Not too shabby! Checking this out because I only heard about Kelly Hansen and Foreigner a couple of years ago. While he's a nice lead singer for them, thought he lacked the rawness of Lou Gramm. Well, I'm not here to compare Kelly to anyone, just appreciating that this band Hurricane was pretty hard, and Kelly's voice was harder back then. Very cool!
I saw them live they opened for Def Lep & Night Ranger Forghner was the Better Band and Kelly Hanson is Really Good! for u that thinks he is not good i disagree and i saw him Live and he impressed the shit out of Me!
So it's exactly like Led Zeppelin. Hey wait, this guy can actually sing, so It's already better then Zeppelin (AKA the most overrated band in history).
Those days are truly missed!

apparently, the record label they were signed to had a problem which I guess killed their momentum and led to them fading away, extremely unfortunate
