You can do either. We upgraded before we got there because we wanted a easier check in. If you wait you have to go to the regular check in area and have to negotiate an upgrade. We also wanted an oceanfront room and don’t want them to be sold out. If you don’t care about what room you get then wait until you get there and see what the best rate is that they can give you.
