    at 9:20 you take the av. vertical effective stress as the vertical stress over 2. However, so far i've seen it as the vertical effective stress - pore water pressure in geotech, why did you divide by 2 and not use this method?

    Hi , I am doing a pier foundation for solar array. I designed the pier for front and back post of the array. The back post taking more horizontal reaction than front post, so my back post pier is deeper than front. Is there any relation to increase the front pier couple of feet and reduce the back one.?

    What if the Shear strength of the soil at the base of the pile is lower than the base resistance.

      different Cu ( shear strength) are taken in case of Clay ..not in this (sandy) case
