  • I had this old computer monitor lying around so I decided to have some fun with it and take it apart.
Here is my review of the screwdriver set used in this video:

Mercury is delicious. Also the last comment was asking about a suction cup looking thing on the back of the monitor and asked what it was connecting you, I have the same question

The suction cup thing is only found in CRT monitors. It connects the glass tube to the high voltage circuit.

Is there anything worth salvaging in a 1995 Hewlett Packard monitor? Also what is the suction cup looking thing attached to the inside back of monitor, and. What is it connected to on the circuit board?

Probably not, most consumer electronics have few salvageable parts

What did you say was dangerous if you did outside ? I’m thinking of taking out these circuit boards for an art project. Wanting to see if it’s okay to cut them :)

It's safe to cut circuit boards as long as you wear a dust mask as the dust isn't good to breathe in.

Can it be lethal if i touch the output? I mean 1-3 kv..can it be lethal if i touch for short time (1-2-3 second for example)

The current is very low so the danger is reduced but if you don't know what you're doing, you should not experiment with high voltage.

@@DragonBuilds Thank you so much for the responding...I would make a shocker (not for humans..for animals) and I know the currect is very slow but I'm afraid if someone from my family could be dangerously injured. So what do you think, one person could bear this? ( For a few seconds) And another question, you know exacly or an estimated output current, I think it can't be bigger than 5-10 mA. But maybe ai said too much. What do you think?
      Thanks in advance!

@@youtubeexpertyoutubeuser2.760 If you need any animal equipment I would just buy it from a reputable company, DIY is not a good idea for this type of thing.

@@DragonBuildsI think it can be used as a mouse trap (mouse shocker or for cockroach killer)
      I don't know if it's strong enought.
      What's your opinion ?

No way I'm the second comment, I love mercury also. I drank it when I was a kid.
