You don’t have to know every little detail, you’re not an encyclopedia. Once you’re out there, you’ll have resources available to you anyways. I’m a nursing student and I loved psychiatry rotation. Reading clients charts and understanding what events led to their condition. It’s always different and I honestly feel that more awareness and funds should be provided for the mental health community, why not treat the brain like we do any other organ. I prayed I would find my calling and I feel like mental health it is :) .

Love your videos, just wanted to say that I wanted to become a psychologist however when I interned at a inpatient psychiatric hospital I noticed that the social workers were the ones who had the most client contact and that made me want to get a degree in clinical social work! Fingers crossed! Just finishing up my first semester now💕
It's actually quite common. Im from Germany and I have a psychiatrist, who just puts me on my meds and checks in with me every so often to get me a new prescription, but my psychologist is someone different and she does all the therapy. I always thought its supposed to be that way..

It’s always different and I honestly feel that more awareness and funds should be provided for the mental health community, why not treat the brain like we do any other organ. I prayed I would find my calling and I feel like mental health it is :) .

I’ve been watching your videos for a few years (1 1/2-2) and this rotation was super interesting to me, because I’m in a clinical mental health program right now and so a lot of the things you’re referencing, I understood!! Because lol those are the disorders I’ll learn how to diagnose (in my 3rd semester). Anyway, your videos are always so interesting & congratulations on the 100k subscribers!!! You deserve it!!

Love your videos, just wanted to say that I wanted to become a psychologist however when I interned at a inpatient psychiatric hospital I noticed that the social workers were the ones who had the most client contact and that made me want to get a degree in clinical social work! Fingers crossed! Just finishing up my first semester now💕

It's actually quite common. Im from Germany and I have a psychiatrist, who just puts me on my meds and checks in with me every so often to get me a new prescription, but my psychologist is someone different and she does all the therapy. I always thought its supposed to be that way..
im thinking of becoming a psychiatrist and the fact that you think its fun and interesting makes me really excited! the only thing keeping me from possibly doing it is the amount of years med students spend in undergrad, med school, and residency ... i have commitment issues 😭😭
