      Truly superb, hard to know anything you can say that fits. I was thinking though, what if I got to watch this video in the mid 70's when I was making my try at being a guitar player? how would I have reacted? Intimidated or inspired? But either way, Oh my, that is an acoustic guitar.

      Carmen is from 1875 so I wouldn't really consider it contemporary. His playing style is kinda just flamenco with harmonics and playing the guitar like bongos lol

      He's a wunderkind. He learned to play classical almost professionally within the first year. He was instantly successful when he picked up a guitar.
      It's 100% genius.

      You should see Luca Stragnacoli. He plays 3 and 4 guitars at a time and invented a resonating slide for them. The Kill Bill song is awesome!

      Guitarist here, not so much into this percussive acoustic style that's the thing now, but I like to play crazy stuff like Polyphia songs and such... but to get to the point, "best" is subjective. People are always going to have a different view of what defines best. The only people truly qualified to determine who is the best would be other professional guitar players. but many of them would like to think they themselves are the best hahaha.

      ​@@Lovell93 Guitarist here and I completely agree. I don't really like his style that much either. A lot of click clack without actually playing any notes. I'd like to see him play normally just to see how his basic skills are. I've seen plenty of people with a "unique guitar skill" that can only play that way with any decency. When it comes to playing actual songs with other people, they fall quite short sometimes. This guy strikes me as the type who spent a lot of time in his room, alone, practicing. And, not a lot of time jamming with others. Speaking of, I haven't played in a long time. I think I might try to find a jam session.

      @@michaelweems679 You can hear very clearly the melody he is playing. He doesn’t miss a beat even while doing all the percussive stuff. An interesting melody and interesting percussive action. He is definitely one of the best guitarists I’ve seen. It’s not my thing but I recognize the obvious skill that takes amazing talent and practice. He could play circles around you or I any day.

Being good at one type of playing doesn't make you a good guitarist. It's about range. He's very good at what he does. But, can he play classically? Can he play blues? Jazz? Can he do anything else but his percussive style, and do it competently. Sry. I'm very tired writing this. I hope I made sense, lol.

    He is a very talented and gifted young man. I would say that I hope he goes far…. But damn, he has gone beyond far. You can tell that he is very passionate about his art. I have only seen a couple of other people that can play like this. I would have no problem ever going to one of his shows in my state if he does tours. For the NBA to hire only him for their halftime show says a LOT! I would like to see him do other sports halftime shows. I wonder how many years of passionate blood, sweat and tears it took him to reach this level. I am so glad that he has been recognized and is able to share his art with us!

The audience definitely enjoys his talent, and he's got a niche that not many other guitarists will ever be able to catch up to, which makes his ability more profitable than the 99.999% of guitarists who all frown upon it. Guitarists are a dime a dozen, but he's definitely one of the best at what he does, so much so that people actually want to shoot music videos of him playing solo, whereas most other guitarists wouldn't even draw a crowd.

Of course, I'm not saying anything's wrong with that its obviously just a difference in taste but I just can't wrap my head around it. I don't listen to Marcin as regularly as I did a few years ago but almost everytime I come across his works I always find them very replayable. Could it somehow be because he prefers playing classical pieces more than modern popular songs? Idk, I'm not someone who can stand listening to classical for more than five mins but if he's the one playing them they become substantially more listenable to me. Do all the percussion and rhythmic elements throw people off? I mean, those are the things that give his playing a lot of its character, aren't they? 🤷

      This isn't edited to sound this way, if you knew a bit more about how these musicians actually perform, they use devices called loopers that can record audio and loop it, so you're able to do this. I'm a music producer, that's how I know about this.

      It's called a finger strike, it's a common picking technique in flamenco, you can "strum" one handed doing so
