  • From its onset, Playboy has pushed boundaries. Founded in 1953, Hugh Hefner’s magazine not only changed the publishing landscape, but it played a huge role in the sexual revolution of the 1960s. For many models, posing in Playboy launched their entire careers, and some - like ‘90s icon Pamela Anderson - went on to make millions.
    From the outside, living in the famous Playboy Mansion seemed like a fantasy fairytale. But life with Hef was anything but. Despite the obvious perks to living the playmate life, when you're hopped up on drugs and forced to please, you'd wanna rip off your bunny tail, too. So what was living in the Playboy Mansion really like? We’ve got the answers.

    I've watched the first two episodes, but not sure my soul can make it through all ten.
    Fascinating how nearly every woman who had dealings with Hefner, personal or professional, said he was harmful to women and could support their statements with excruciating detail, while nearly every male buddy claimed he was a great guy who loved and respected women. Notably, his male employees saw him quite differently. Things that make you go hmmm...

Not that I am older and hopefully wiser I see Hugh Hefner as a pathetic man who kept us this appearance of a certain way of living that like the girls who were his so-called "girlfriends" and also the girls who posed for the magazine was as fake and unrealistic as it could get. Gawd whatever the lure that may have been enticing to be a part of the Playboy scene and it’s expectations,,, I cannot imagine as a young girl especially, to have been in the situation and somehow thinking it was all okay, I mean what was the reward for complying to Hef’s rules ,,,master manipulator comes to mind
    It would’ve sucked my will to live on every level and while people judge saying these girls are adults and able to make their own decisions, if you look back historically at the majority of those who were his girlfriends, lived in mansion, he made playmates of the year or put in his mag ,,,,,,were young, fragile, didn’t realize the impact of such experiences would cast on their life, and some had their lives cut short do to things directly related back to Hef
    Hef was a magician who’s mansion and curated persona was all smoke and mirrors to appear as something that it certainly was NOT!!
    We’ll never see another Hef, mansion, Playboy and playmate scenario be socially acceptable or envied as it was, ever again in our culture we’re being schooled in the art of curating, grooming, drugging women by men who’re in a position to exploit and manipulate them for their own carnal desires,,,
    Luckily there’s a spot light on the rich and powerful perpetrator’s that position themselves to take advantage of,,,,

    7:49 is not correct. Down The Rabbit Hole is Holly Madison, which you have said, but you said Kendra Wilkerson and put up a photo of her next to a quote that is not even hers 🤦🏻‍♀️ I don’t know about now but Kendra has also publicly said numerous times how much she “loves Hef”.

    • @sandywaters4940
      @sandywaters4940 2 роки тому +5

      I believe Kendra, Bridgett & Holly all did love Hef but they were just not "IN LOVE" w/him. And I think the love for Hef, was just a different kind of love for each of them. They just were not in love with him except for MAYBE Holly. Holly DID do a lot for Hef & no matter what she did, he just didn't respect her no matter what she did for him. And I'm sure there was a lot going behind the senses that we never seen or heard about. I mean it was ridiculous that they had to get his permission just to go visit w/their own families. They had to ask permission to do anything they wanted to do & if it wasn't any kind of Playboy business then they had to pay for the trip themselves nor were they allowed to use the private plane his has that they could use anytime as long as it was Playboy business & that's the only time he would pay for expenses. They whole thing is crazy.

      My husband & I also watched the whole series of "Girls Next Door". Yes, Holly wanted a baby w/him & get married & he chose not to & also put off having a serious take w/Holly about it except w/Mary his assistant. After all that, she stilled stayed w/him hoping to change his mind. Then the girls started getting offers for jobs & Kinda finding real love for Hank. Then Holly moved to Vegas I thought to work w/Playboy stuff there. At least that's what I thought cuz she ended up staying there. Then on the last series episode has Hef & other girls there to watch a movie in his theater & that's when the twins came into play but I don't think that lasted cuz then Crystal comes in & not sure how long it took but she did get Hef to marry her & they had a baby. Also, u could tell she still had feelings for him when she got a small model of the mansion that opened to show the inside made & it cost a lot but it was also already in process for Holly to give Hef for his birthday & she delivered it to him even when Crystal was there w/Hef. It was a special moment w/them & after that I think Holly finally understood she didn't really love Hef the way she used to. But all 3 of them finally got out I believe cuz they knew they couldn't live like that forever....especially since they did grew up to be strong & outgoing & wanted to expand their lives into something else.

But years ago his son was with a Playboy I don't remember all the details but he was abusive physically and mentally and then I can't remember what happened after that he didn't seem to get in trouble about it cuz he had a kind of protection. Just so manipulating and drugs.

      They were allowed to go out but they would have to ask Hef for permission & if he said "yes" then after they got ready they would then get his approval for what they were wearing & then had to be home in the mansion no later then 9:00pm. I don't think when they read & signed the contract they really understood what they were really getting into. But they were young & naive and when they finally grew up a little they then finally understand what they were stuck in & had to make the best of it.

      They all couldn’t leave from what I hear if you were in a girlfriend position you were signing contracts and couldn’t. Others would’ve been made to sign other contracts. Then you still would want to graciously do it cause if you burned the bridge you were blackballed and or blackmailed in the industry. So how are you going to eat and survive. It’s easy to talk junk about it unless you’ve walked a mile in their shoes and or lived it!!
