A first Tunnels polytunnel was a GAME CHANGER for my channel and plot, and it will definitely be a game changer for yours too Gemma! How exciting for you! Congrats on a beautiful polytunnel ❤❤ Danny 🌱
@@GemInTheGarden Ours is "prestigious" site (private) that is part of a garden centre/bistro/deli complex so totally understandable - I don't mind really. Imagine the impact if there were 30 homemade sheds and old uPVC panel greenhouses PMSL
Brilliant Gemma, you will see a huge difference next year in crop yield. Get yourself some weed membrane and put it up the center or the tunnel. You will be surprised how clean it makes things, I wish I had done it years ago. And get some soaker hose for when you arn't there. I'm sure Vince as a plumber could find a small water tank as a reservoir. My tunnel was getting 35-40 degrees this summer even with doors open and fine net sun shield under the roof. 🥵
😱😱😱😱 it’s like freaking Christmas 🤶 that is so exciting, Gemma. Wow they are stars and so good at what they do, spot on guys 👍👍. Have a stupendous week and holy next year 👍👍, happy gardening, Ali 🌥️🇨🇦
Hi Ali 👋 yes all my Christmases have come at once! I'm so pleased with it and can't wait to get it planted up!! Have a fab week too Ali 😊 lots of love 🥰👩🏼🌾
I’ve had my tunnel 25x12. Since April 2017….best thing I ever bought ..wish I’d bought bigger lol…totally extends the season as I’ve got winter plants in now …and seems to be at least a month ahead when the season starts
Gemma it looks fab, you have so many possibilities now for next years growing season. Exciting times ahead look forward to seeing it all come together. Thanks for sharing, bfn.🐞🌻🌱
Gemma You have done a amazing job on your plot from how it looked when you started. Looking forward to see everything growing in your tunnel. Happy Gardening from Southern California.
I did it last year in the old polytunnel and the harvest was really good, plus no rust! I will be putting some in my big tunnel and my mini polyrunnel too. Let me know how yours gets on!
So excited for you! Took us nearly a week to put ours up. Can’t get over how fast they do it 🤣🤣 I have radish, winter lettuce, chicory, carrots, Thai basil, broccoli raab and spring onions in our tunnel for winter. Happy growing
@@GemInTheGarden also going to put a few of my spring cabbage in the tunnel and compare how well they do in there compared to the beds outside. I’ve only filled one side. The other bed I’m planning on filling with muck as the weather turns much colder (I am in the North West) and see if it’ll make a kind of hot bed to keep the tunnel a little warmer over depths of winter.
All the plots in your allotment space are neat and tidy whereas some videos I watch, the gardening area resembles a shanty town. Are there rules about what you can build and where when you are gardening in allotments?
Hello 👋 there are not rules at our site as such but everyone does keep their plots in good order and everyone is considerate of their allotment neighbors. I think if anyone did put anything up that wasn't in keeping then I think they may get spoken to by the chairman. Hope you're having a great week!
@@GemInTheGarden well if I had a house overlooking an allotment space I wouldn’t mind if it was yours! I love it when you film as you are walking and we get a glimpse of some lovely set-ups!
@offgridnorthern Thank You for the compliment and I'm sure the other plot holders would be so pleased to hear that too ☺️ there are some fab set ups on my site, I may speak to some of the other plot holders and see if they would be happy for me to film their plots, would that be a video you would be interested in? 😀
Was checking out first tunnels I can see you chose 10’x15’ what extras apart from sliding doors did you choose for anchoring it? It seems a good size and we hoping to get a new indoor growing space too we have a n old poly and small greenhouse but just a bit extra room in a poly would be great and sliding doors rather than zips as our zips broke the first time it blew away. It blew away 3 times over the years so it stapled and taped together and we moved it so it’s more sheltered. It’s fine but it could be a bit bigger and the doors not good now. Anyway your advice on what you chose exactly would be great as that looks perfect for us
Hi Tony, I paid for the polytunnel and have a good relationship with first tunnels as had their mini polytunnel first, so happy to promote their tunnels as I really rate them ☺️

What size is it.
Thank You Kate 😊 it's 15ft x 10ft 👩🏼🌾
So I’ve got celery/celeriac/chard/savoy/leeks going in soon/onions …
Great selection, think I will put some garlic in mine as have had good success last year with garlic in the polytunnel.

Hi Mandy, if you go on my profile and find my email address, if you send me an email I can send you exactly what I have and some other info 😊
How expensive was the polytunnel? Looking for a new one.
This is from First Tunnels, if you take a look at their website they show all of the sizes and options along with the prices 😀 have a fab weekend 😀
Don’t want to be that guy but is this your purchase or a free promotion? Nothing wrong with either just like to know what I’m watching.
