    very good explanation but , what about the make up water is it used directly to the process ? and if it so , is this water is cooled and treated enough to be used for the process

    It's weird that in an energy-starving world, we can afford to just lose the thermal energy of water and not use it for something else.

    Would it work when the incoming air is already 100% saturated ? Its operation, I believe, is heavily dependent on the degree of saturation of the incoming air.

    • @Mister_Pedantic
      @Mister_Pedantic 5 років тому

      In a perfect 100% saturated condition, it would not work.

    I believe that the drift eliminators do not actually collect the evaporated gaseous water at all as it just goes past the eliminators. No condensation occurs in the drift eliminators unless they are cooled internally.
    The function of the drift eliminators is to create larger aggregate droplets from the smaller droplets until the droplets become so heavy that they fall down.

    • @peckdec
      @peckdec 4 роки тому

      Coalesce would have been a good term. Anyway, I love your videos and they are very informative. Although I often don’t really have to know how a particular equipment works, I really like that I always learn these general design aspects and sub-solutions that you explain in the videos.

      well, water is still in liquid phase so why wouldn't it collect ?

    • @peckdec
      @peckdec 2 роки тому +1

      @@hamzaiqbal8948 It will collect, but it does not condense at the drift eliminators because condensation means transition from vapor to liquid.
