I don't know about everyone else, but I really appreciate these compilation videos; a collection of Chef John's previous videos that I don't have to especially look up? Yes, please!
I hate them. If we want them we can find them easily enough as it is. It just clutters the channel and it just reminds me of channels like Tasty, recycling content. Surely a community post with kind to the 5 videos is enough?
I like my turkey and rice with lentils and caramelized onions, with a pickled carrot & raw spinach salad on the side. I also buy turkey drumsticks throughout the year and slow cook them in Dark Shiner Bock beer. That makes the base for lots of delicious things. Thank you Chef John for your deep love of cooking. It always shines through on every episode!
Just finished the manicotti and it was delicious! I accidentially doubled the turkey and it was my first time ever making crepes however everyone loved it! Had to cook a turkey last week to make room in the freezer, this was a lifesaver thank you!!
That's so cool that you do the crepe method for Manicotti! My mom used to do that too. Never used noodles. Love watching all of your videos! Thank you!
If I have any Turkey leftovers, and if my adult children stop bickering over all of the leftovers, LOL, it involves good old fashioned Turkey soup the next day at Abuela’s house. Not to brag but my Turkey is always succulent and delicious! It’s all good. Family tradition to see them all fight over the leftovers, LOL, although there’s plenty for everyone, LOL. Makes me happy, my heart full.
Again, you knocked the ball clean out of the park! These are great suggestions which I'm surely going to try at least two of them. Thanks again! I really enjoy your pods!
Can't wait to use these recipes all year round too using a roasted or rotisserie chicken. Side note: Adore your sense of humor and your voice is so soothing to my ears🥰 Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁🦃🍂
Thanks for posting these leftover recipes. We had our family Thanksgiving dinner Sunday and so far have made a breakfast bake, sandwiches and plan a stir fry with egg rolls using leftovers. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
I made with leftovers… Turkey gravy grits and cranberry sauce oatmeal for breakfast… Asian inspired… turkey summer roll or fried in rice papers, Turkey curries (Japanese or Indian), Turkey ramen, Turkey fried rice, Turkey with Chinese broccoli stirfried, Turkey bibimbap, Turkey n kimchi teokbokki… etc etc.
Thank you Chef John! Last year the turkey sandwiches were getting a little old, but all of these sound and look amazing, especially that tamale pie. Happy Holidays!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!! You just kicked me um...to the delish zone! Always ready to taste new dishes! Yummy, yum! Doing the air fryer way. Waving to you from south Georgia-land of best Peaches, boiled Peanuts, & Vidalia onions!
My leftovers include turkey and andouille gumbo, turkey pot pie, turkey tetrazinni, turkey enchiladas. If I still have leftovers, I will make turkey noodle soup.
I have not had turkey tetrazinni in years. Some old friends used to make it and have us over for it, and it's been at least 25 years I think since we had it last. If I think to do so, find a part of a turkey, or two turkey drumsticks on sale after the holiday itself and roast it for the meat ahead of time, then have friends over and make it. I think she did the 9x13 baking dish. I'd probably use my Kobestyle casserole (vintage at that) to bake it in.
I made the turkey tamale pie. It was good! Still too spicy for me (and I made it much less spicy than your version) but it did an excellent job with the dry bits of turkey that I had no idea what else to do with. Top notch recipe! I will make it again for sure. Thank you!
Re: Flautas, I bought about a thousand of those little tortillas and this video sent me straight to the kitchen where I warmed up two and filled them with the obligatory turkey/rice/broccoli/cheese caserole. Popped them in the microwave and, guess what? They worked just fine. Topped with more cheese and salsa. Two minutes, done.
Rather than roasting a whole bird and doing something with the leftovers, I break down the bird and make a different dish with each of the parts. No dry leftover meat.
Turkey Enchiladas. Turkey Posole. I'm from California, what can I say? Try cheese grits over your turkey base in the tamale pie -- it's more tamale like. BTW, I saw a Canadian movie the other night, and the lead actor sounded just like Chef John****. If I closed my eyes, I could see him in the role. Kinda freaked me out. I can't remember the name of the movie, much less the actor, but if I do, I'll try to remember to come back and add them. *****The movie was "No Clue" and the actors name is Brent Butt. It's available free on Amazon if you have Prime.
My freezer is stocked with as many low cost turkeys as it will hold. We roast one every month or so, and I will be adding these recipes to our Pinterest board of turkey recipes.
The turkey noodle casserolle was the gateway drug to the addiction that is Chef John 😂 I always make that in the first week of January, because we usually have turkey for New Years.
I am kind of sad not to see it too. I learned of this recipe last year right after thanksgiving and finally made it with turkey this past thanksgiving in October. I think Chef Jon is a little shy of his more oriental dishes because he tries to simplify it a little for his audience, but as he explained in his flavour bomb video, his recipes help bridge the gap for the audience to try it out and search for the more authentic taste afterward.
I guess I'm lazy, I like Turkey Taco's made with the leftovers. Cold turkey with my world-famous homemade Cranberry Chutney and shredded cheese on flour tortillas. All the above recipes sound great, by the way!
The flautas made me think of how turkey enchiladas would taste. I have all the ingredients but have only ever had beef or chicken. I wonder if green or red sauce would go better. Hmm
Hey, made the flautas and they were great - and easy. I thought they might fall apart or that the filling would fall out, but that didn't happen. To heat tortillas, dampen a dishtowel, fold that around the tortillas and heat in the microwave. The heat of the microwave can change the composition of a plastic container or bag, I'd be wary that toxic substances might be cooked into food.
If you cook this "Turkey Rice" until the rice is falling apart/mushy, it becomes what the Chinese call congee - a classic comfort food dish. Of course you would add ginger, garlic and onion for congee, maybe bok choy as well.
A show full of reruns about leftovers and it's still better than the Food Network! Chef John is a national treasure!
It's nice when it's about the food vs about the chef.
I don't know about everyone else, but I really appreciate these compilation videos; a collection of Chef John's previous videos that I don't have to especially look up? Yes, please!
Seconded!
I hate them. If we want them we can find them easily enough as it is. It just clutters the channel and it just reminds me of channels like Tasty, recycling content.

I made a turkey for Christmas this year and had lots of leftovers. I made the turkey flautas and my entire family love them! Even my picky eater!
My mom used to always shred the turkey and cook it with the gravy and then pour it over some twirly egg noddles and it was the yummiest thing. 🤤
Of all the honors I've received in my life nothing touches a name check in a Chef John video.

"Of course my turkey was moist..." something I would say after I have turned one into a briquette😂
Turkey casserole? Absolutely delicious!!! Thanks, Chef John!!!
Thank You, Chef John! I’m not cooking my turkey til tomorrow, thankfully, now I have my next week meal plan prepped!❤️❤️❤️
This isn't so much for turkey leftovers but I always make congee the next day out of the turkey carcass!

My sister who's worked in the food business for to many years has the best turkey wild rice soup recipe. It's a cream base soup.
Renee Russell here. Jon I’m interested in you turkey wild rice soup - I have never made nor eaten. Would you mind sharing? Thank you!

Happy holidays, Chef John! Enjoy your vacation. 👋
Perfect timing! I need to get rid of all my thanksgiving leftovers to make room for this year😁
The chicken rice porridge was the bomb!!!! Thanks
Turkey tetrazzini is my family’s Fannie Farmer favorite leftover recipe
I made the manicotti for dinner tonight and it was delicious. Tomorrow I will make the tamale pie. I can hardly wait!

Thank you Chef John for these delicious & easy 🦃 recipes!! Much appreciated!! I'm planning to make 3/5 of them.🍗👊
My favorite is turkey pizza pockets. Quick and easy. Turkey, your favorite what ever chopped in a pocket. slightly heated

Love Turkey tetrazinni! Used to make it in a 9 x 13 glass dish.
Yum. Stay safe, from a fellow foodie somewhere near Seattle.

Turkey a la king, over rice.

Croissants with brie, turkey and cranberry sauce. Can't wait
I always make a massive dish of turkey tetrazzini and and i swear it is better than thanksgiving dinner itself.

YUM! Why wait for Thanksgiving?
Watching these in succession makes it seem like chef John just has a mountain of turkey meat stuffed in his fridge.

👍 Great video; inspiring as always, John.
You could have made crusties with the turkey skins on the turkey casserole
You could even throw in some soy sauce and lime juice to brighten up the turkey rice dish!
This is why we have turkey just once a year, because by Monday, we're SICK of it.
I like big bowlsand I cannot lie 😂😂😂😂😂
Base on my Mexican dining experiences Corn tortillas = taquitos, Flour tortillas = Flautas But hey, as long as they're muy sabroso, who cares!
Yum! 👍
You are the poppy of whether they're floppy.
