I think JK is just smashing the boundaries that he’s had around him right away. New phase, new rules.
Think he's also smashing some boundaries on kpop as well tbh. BTS have always been somewhat outside of the kpop box but this takes another cultural step... maybe this song will be able to inspire some other artists to step outside of the line.
Shamefully I feel like BTS achievements are downplayed a lot now considering how prevalent that they used to be... but I hope the Korean public doesn't skip over this song because the New Jeans craze is in full swing. I personally think that the fact that JK did a song like this is an historic moment in and of itself.

Hi. It isn't that BTS never sang about sex; it's that the songs they wrote and performed, RM, Suga and the others wrote such classy, subtle lyrics. They've always been 7 normal red-blooded men who took their craft seriously and allowed us to think and use our imaginations listening to them. So far, every one who's done their solo work has been absolutely brilliant. I'm OT7 and they're ALL fantastic. Glad to know you guys were as shooked as I was listening to the explicit version for the first time, and it's literally that "I'm shocked but I'm not shocked" feeling I've got. It's really unexpected to see baby maknae Jungkook singing about sex but llike at the same time, he's an adult and we shouldn't be shocked. I think Latto had her own schedules at the moment so I think that's why she isn't in this performance but it would have been cool too.
I think the change is good and expected. BTS are known to write about their lives afterall and being in their late 20s-30s, it's not surprising we have more mature content. Plus like you mentioned, it's not as if the other members haven't written mature lyrics before. BTS aren't kids anymore and the audience is a good percentage of older fans. So in a sense let the kiddie pops have the usual Kpop while BTS, as per usual look at walls put in their way and smash right through them. Besides, as much as the rest of Kpop refuse to accept it, BTS going first allows the others groups more freedom too.

Nooo, listen to their older songs again guys. It’s been there. Just not in English and not said so directly but Blood, Sweat and Tears, Cypher 3, Converse High, Miss Right , War of Hormone, RM, Suga and Jimin solo songs…J-hope 1 Verse…go back and read the lyrics not to mention a lot of the performances. Having said that, JK didn’t leave anything open to interpretation so, it feels different in that way.
I guess it’s not this way anymore but when music was pushing boundaries and gangsta rap was coming out, there was more and more cuss words so artists would either bleep it out or make a “Clean” version because they knew it would get more airplay than the Explicit. So, back then they weren’t considered 2 separate songs, the explicit was always the original and the clean was to please the masses and make money.
Well of course I love the song, the video and the performance - he killed it! I understand that it’s possible no one in BTS or kpop may not have said anything about “fucking” but they use the word FUCK quite a bit in Their raps. Especially Suga. But I give props to JK for opening the door to real sexuality in their music - because it’s an important part of everyones lives!
The thing is bts and many songs under kpop have spoken about sex. It's not that bizarre, but there's usually subtlety. Songs like mmmh by kai or verses from Converse, Butter, Sexy Nukim, etc are sexual in nature along with their live performances. We are just surprised by the bluntness, and that Seven could have been about BTS as a group.

BTS have talked about sex in some of their original work especially, just not explicitly or directly, but it was implied. Think, War of Hormones, which is absolutely one of my favorite songs! Their charisma and sensuality in that was amazing and they were so young. Converse High, Blanket? Boy in Luv, Look Here, Like, Coffee, Miss Right, and many others talked about love, breakup and pain. A lot from that Young & Wild and Skool era, they talked about normal feelings, desires and hormones of adolescence and youth. That’s what I love about them, they express real emotions and feelings in their music and about what they are going through at that time in their lives. It’s nice to see them exploring that again as actual adults. I would have loved for this to be written by JK though or at least him have a hand in the writing, not just an American song handed to him, kinda like Dynamite. I just think their authentic and original material is always best and has more meaning and longevity, but don’t get me wrong, the song is great😊👏❤️
I feel like they did not have Latto actually in the 'elicit' version because JK not being right beside her while she does her part allows JK to be seperate from her and it keeps his image still sliding on the the innocent side. If you get what I mean. I think if they had been dancing and singing on the same stage it may have pulled his image too far into the other direction. This is just an intro to JK's more adult side, so they didn't want him all the way into it!
