Making a 2-Piece Wedding Gown for Anita Adetoye

I hope you are all doing really well. It's been a few weeks since I last posted, and there have been so many changes in our world. I hope that you are all doing your best to stay safe and healthy during this time!
In today's video, I wanted to share the story behind the creation of a very special wedding gown for Anita Adetoye, celebrity makeup artist based in Nigeria.
Last April in 2019, Anita reached out to us at the beginning of her search for a designer to create her custom wedding dress for her upcoming nuptials to actor Emmanuel Ikubese. Anita had also reached out to her cousin Ade to help with her search for the right designer. Given that Ade is based in Ottawa and we are based in Toronto, the distance between us was quite manageable as Anita was not be able to travel to meet us for an in-person consultation, measurements, fittings or alterations. So, we relied on Ade for many things.
On the day that Anita had reached out to us, Ade did as well as she was referred to us by Kleinfeld Canada. Having worked with Kleinfeld since their opening in Toronto in 2014 (they also carry our collection), we have done many custom projects for them and they kindly directed Ade to reach out directly to us. And we're really glad they did!
As Anita was unable to come to Canada to meet with us in-person, we relied on help from her side to take live measurements over FaceTime as we gave the instructions on how to take them. More FaceTime calls followed to touch base and check in on the progress of her gown during the construction phase.
Having never met Anita in person, I think her dress turned out beautifully! We are so pleased with the fit and she is too. What do you think?
Last weekend on March 14th, Anita and Emmanuel said "I do" in what one might call a grand affair! The event was beautiful from every angle, and no details appear to have been spared. We are sending the newlyweds all the positive vibes we can muster for a happy life and partnership filled with love and blessings.
