Would be great to hear more impartial news coverage, not NDP cheer leaders. I can barley stand watching the news anymore as they are so bias. A good number of BC residents just voted Conservative - let's talk about why that is. Time for some real honest journalism.

@@dajusta87 Is this were you pretend to not know what a common word is? Or is this where you try to argue about how no word has a complete definition?
Because it's pretty obvious that woke has changed from what you think it used to mean, to what it means now.
Woke is about dividing people into all the possible categories, to divide the population, it's no longer the group of people fighting against injustice and oppression, and has become a tool for the elites to control people with. Many pretexts, with one goal.
Sorry that you need the most obvious aspect of the times pointed out to you. Best of luck asking the next person what a car is.

It was a useful insight when he mentioned NDP not investing in value-added forestry products. This is a classic working class demographic that could be producing everything from furniture to cross-laminated timber for buildings. Produce more revenue per tree and create union jobs while better maintaining our forests instead of letting the UK buy old growth to turn into pellets and toilet paper. Perhaps a new crown corp is needed, Eby should take notes from Dave Barrett

What's stopping BCers from making those things now? I'd suggest that some of that does happen but not on a large scale because BC industry is not competitive. Why does wine made in BC cost more - in BC - than wine made in France and Italy? Same with Whisky / Gin / Beer? Because BC's cost of living is so high that the province's industry is not competitive. The government cannot wave a magic wand, or create a crown corporation that will make industry more competitive here. Costs have to come down.

For any young people watching this. Glen Clark was the NDP Premier of BC from 1994-1999. He decided that the NDP should create a ship building industry in BC at the time and proceeded to build two Fast Cat cameraman ferries with infrastructure to serve the Island routes. The project when completed completely failed. Those Fast Cats sat idle on the north shore for months and months and were ultimately sold for 7 cents on the dollar. A MAJOR taxpayer loss. And when Glen Clark left politics with his tail between his legs what did he do, he became the right hand man of one of the most successful entrepreneurs in BC history, Jimmy Pattison. If it was Pattison who built the ferries they would probably still be in use today but we are probably still paying for them given our record debt ! 21,000 per citizen.

    • @ironhammer4095
      @ironhammer4095 2 дні тому

You missed out that Gordan Campbell deliberately sold the ferries for as low as possible to make it look even worse for Clark:
"Gordon Campbell of the BC Liberals auctioned off the PacifiCat fleet on March 24, 2003, for $19.4 million ($6.5 million/vessel) to Washington Marine Group. Further controversy erupted when it was revealed that the same company, which is a prominent financial backer of the Liberal Party, had offered $60 million for the vessels prior to the auction, on the condition that BC would then rent the ferries. Some claimed the aluminum ships were worth more as scrap. Others said Indonesians were prepared to pay as much as $88 million."
Also, Gordon Campbell outsourced Medical Services out of Province, sending BC Taxpayers money out of Province as well as jobs. That's the clown show you get from right wingers ever since Reagan and Thatcher. Total Globalist who outsource everything. And now we have Globalism 2.0 aka Immigration. You think its just woke lefties who want Immigration? The Business Council of BC wants Immigration too. Because they want to keep the wages down.
The FastCat Ferries were good in intention but a fiasco in planning and execution as they weren't suitable to BC Waters etc but Gordon Campbell's fiasco was deliberately intended.

No matter the party in power these topics yield unpopular results that need to be corrected by most peoples views I would geuss.
I dont care what party solves them. JUST MAKE SOME PROGRESS PLZ
Forest fires- who is going to be upset with a proper provincial air fleet to protect our communities and resources?
Drug crisis/homelessness: completely unacceptable for a nation like Canada.
Provincial monopoly on insurance: End the monopoly on ICBC and Worksafe and let consumers have choice. Doesn't mean you have to close the doors on icbc an WS
Hospital wait times: Unacceptable in anyones eyes. If our province created legal framework for private healthcare (strictly canadian owned) to function along side our provincial systems the economic opportunity is huge ! We already have citizens flying out of country for care. Why not make BC a solution for all Canadians in need of better care?
Family Law: Extremely expensive and drawn out process. With 50/50 co-parenting failure rate any improvement in this area would touch alot of voters.

China is on track to double its utility-scale solar and wind power capacity, shattering the central government’s ambitious 2030 target of 1,200 GW five years ahead of schedule. They’re also the biggest investor in renewable energy worldwide, where nearly half of the world’s low-carbon spending took place in China in 2022 (US$546 billion).
