Growing up we had big Christmases and small Christmases but every year mom made sure she spent about the same on both my brother and I. She even still does it to this day. From watching this I know that's what Bonnie and Joel did for their kids. I saw bean bags because they love to watch movies in their basement, sleeping bags because they might have a fun trip planned with their dad coming up, a bow because who knows how long Cody has been asking for one off camera, a gizmo watch because Olivia is growing up and has wanted a phone for so long but just isn't quite old enough, a wood kit for Boston to build anything he wants, and a big rocket so Lincoln can use that huge imagination of his. I saw the thought and heart put into these gifts for their kids. She didn't want to get a bunch of junk but rather few gifts that would last and that they would get more use out of. Yes not everyone got the same about of presents but neither did my brother and I they years he got the newest game system or I got the newest American Girl doll.

Olivia is always my favorite but it made me sad to hear her say "i think this present is an insta camera and if its not im gonna be sad" shes usually so grateful and appreciative i was surprised to hear her say that especially followed by her knowing Cody was jealous and going "ha ha" i know shes a little kid but that isnt like Olivia!! :/ still love you guys of course

I’m PRETTY sure Bonnie and Joel love all 4 the same stop assuming if we only watch 10-30min of their life’s when there’s 24 hours In the day . And don’t POOR me this kid or the other I’m sure their great full for what Santa brought .

I remember my favorite thing as a kid was coming down and seeing the small pile grow into a MASSIVE pile of presents. I’m so thankful to have grown up as blessed as I am 🙏🏾 and good for you for creating these awesome memories for your children

Too bad Santa didn't individually wrap the arrows and the arrow holder to Cody would have more gifts to open. At our house, Santa always made sure each kid had the same amount of gifts to open!
Katie Say it’s not about the amount of gifts... and life won’t always be equal. I don’t do that in my house. I’m pretty sure they spent more on the two older kids anyway. His bow and arrows are way more pricey then what Boston and Lincoln got.

@@officialgrandeclips5694 I do, but I also know young kids his age don't really understand 'value"..... he just sees that he has 3 presents and his brothers and sisters have 'more'. Mom and Dad could have easily wrapped the bows as an individual present and the bow holder as a present too. Then, in Cody's eyes, he had as many presents as his brothers and sisters, and Mom and Dad didn't have to spend more $$

I think it's actually really good for Cody to learn at the age he is, that if you ask for expensive things you may end up getting a less quantity overall than your siblings. My brother and I didnt always get an equal amount of gifts every year - especially as I got older and started getting electronics or more "grown up" items that cost more than toys. But my parents were always honest and told us that we got equal in terms of overall value. I think Cody handled it well, but I know it can be tough when you count and see you have less!

I Love how Cody got all gifts related to having adventures with his Dad, THAAAATTT'S what hes going to be so happy and excited when a year goes by, and when hes older he wont even remember he got less gifts he'll just remember that those gifts helped him learn, and grow and make memories with Joel.

Omgosh Bonnie, I feel ya on the kids being up all night. Our youngest is 17 and was up super early, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love that he still gets so excited for Christmas morning. Even though I’m sure you’re tired, enjoy these times. They go by all too quick. So glad you all had such a beautiful Christmas

When I saw the matching gifts for Bonnie and Olivia, I was waiting to see what it was. I couldn’t stand the suspense and anticipation and was like “What is it? Tell us!” Matching Mother-Daughter earrings are so special. The night before my tenth birthday, my mother, my twin and I got our ears pierced. I got something very special for Christmas from my mother that has a story behind it. Since I was a little girl, I have loved the music of Céline Dion, my very first album was The Colour Of My Love. In 1994, the concert corresponding with the album came out as a Disney special first aired where I live on December 22,1994. So a tradition since that day ever year has been watch the concert at Christmas while eating a Terry’s Chocolate Orange. Anyway, the 25th anniversary of the release of The Colour Of My Love just passed and along with it came a 25th anniversary edition vinyl record. For Christmas I received the special anniversary edition vinyl along with my first record player to go with it, a portable suitcase style one which is easier for me to handle. After everything I have been through this year, when I received both the record and the record player, I admit I cried. The album itself and the concert are very special to me so the gift of the anniversary edition of the record is the most special gift have ever received.

It is so mean how you laughed at Cody for not recognizing the sleeping bag. I remember a similar situation in my childhood. I'm 33 now and I am still ashamed when I think of this moment. And my goofy moment wasn't recorded and put out on UA-cam.

Tooo funny, my son sounds like Cody.. 'Why do we have to get the same things'.... My son is 16 & daughter is 18, they fight/argue because they get the same gifts sometimes.. Its unreal how silly they are!

I feel so bad for Cody!!!! He only got 4 presents and had to watch his siblings open all there gifts. I know Christmas isn't just about the presents but still it definitely was not fair AT all!!!! I know people are saying well maybe his were more expensive but that can't be because he got 4 and 2 of his 4 presents his siblings also got which was the sleeping bag and the bean bags. I know Bonnie loves her kids so incredibly much, but rather she sees it or not it seems she has favoritism especially towards Olivia at least it's the way it comes across in the vlogs. But never the least I do love watching this family!!!!!

Actually the bow he got is more expensive than the other gifts and it's something he will get lots of use out of with his dad while some of the others toys will probably only be used for a few months.

I got about 4 gifts this year, (I’m also the oldest) while my siblings got maybe 10 I didn’t complain because mine had more value and meaning to them, they were also very expensive while my siblings got toys they’ll play with for a month and get tired of, I can have mine for a lifetime. Christmas isn’t always about gifts, I’m just glad I get to sleep and not go to school for 2 weeks.

Ahhhh everybody has to be negative Nancy’s , I didn’t see any favoritism at all, what I saw was the bow and arrow set was probably equal to 4 of the other gifts the kids got price wise, maybe you should have wrapped the arrows all separately, lol, I always explained to my kids that typically when you get older, you get less gifts because older kids gifts cost more than little toys. Although Cody isn’t older, but a bow and arrow is an older kid type of gift. Loved seeing your Christmas.

That bow and arrow set didn't cost more than $100 dollars max. Olivia received an Apple Watch that was $400. Olivia is very favored. It was so unfair.

We also don’t do lists. I pick up on things they like and if they ask for certain things I remember it. Lists can lead to them feeling sad or left out. If they go and their friends say they got everything on the list when others didn’t. It is really sad that this is what Christmas has become. A competition between parents to get the most and the best just so they look good.

Christmas gets harder as kids grow older. They do notice how many gifts they get and don’t understand that some things cost more. I try and explain to my kids before Christmas that if they ask for expensive they won’t have as much to open on Christmas morning. At least they are then prepared. I try to make sure they all get equal amounts. I always spend the same amount on each child. My younger children get more than the older children as there stuff doesn’t cost as much. They soon realise why and are fine with it. It’s sad as Christmas is really only the best with small children 7 and under. Over that it changes. I’m going to feel so sad when I don’t have to buy toys anymore

Oh my goodness! The children enjoyed their presents and will end up playing together with them, why are people trying to bring this mum down like this? It was a happy occasion and enjoyed by everyone.
My comments must have gotten deleted so I will say it again. I think Cody really got the unfair deal this Christmas. He has to watch his brothers get things on their list, while he got things that weren't on his list and he really couldn't play with. Olivia clearly got the most presents and the most expensive presents which shows huge favoritism. It was completely unreal to see how much she received than Cody. Cody was a really good sport. I think he totally deserves to pick a couple Christmas presents out to make up for the absence of his gifts.
