As a Confessor pilot, I honestly prefer the slighter changes in modes, since I use it for PVP and I like to think my opponents would have a harder time telling what I’m up to.
Absolutely fair! I know a lot of folks play zoomed out but hadn't considered purposely zooming in for T3Ds!
I lived in a C2 for years and one ship I ran the most was my Vengeance. It was a PVP fit that was able to run the Perimeter Hanger and Checkpoint. Only thing is it took forever but when people landed on me, I tackled them and held them down until friends arrived. Should try it out one day
I love the Vengeance, but hadn't considered it for C2 Ratting??
The svipul is one of the ships I've missed the most in EO and had hoped it would be in EE when it launched. It's a great and very powerful PvP ship and was the one ship we primarily used for 80-90% of all our fleets when Explicit Alliance was in The Spire years ago. Propulsion mode was also used while traveling through systems and looking for targets due to the inertia bonus and faster getting into warp. Once target is found and tackled we'd warp to tackle and upon landing burn to target with MWD and orbit 0.5 km with autocannons. Switching to sharpshooter mode originally but after the nerf to svipuls we changed it to defense mode instead. It will only take 1-2 cycles of MWD to get in range of most targets and there was one roam I was in where we had 20 svipuls,2-3 fleet ceptors as scout/tackle, a sabre and 1-2 scalpels for logi and took out a Thanatos carrier and the first of 2 carrier kills our alliance had. However there were other ships including medium ships in the second kill. I still have the fit we used saved in game and on a number of fitting apps. Also the thrasher fit we used was a downgraded version of the svipul fit which was for those still training the skill plans for it. I was also able to convert the fits into a fit in EE with the TFI that's comes very close to the EO fits.
Very cool! Thrasher is absolutely one of my favourite ships! Svipul is like a Thrasher ramped up to eleven!
@@captainbenzie yeah, I thought that svipul might be a ship you'd enjoy flying with how similar it is to a thrasher. The thrasher fit we used that's a downgraded version of our svipul fit was strong enough for a fleet of about 5-6 thrashers, sabre, and a few ceptors to take out a T3 cruiser that jumped in on one of our roaming fleets. The video of the fight and the roam leading to it is on UA-cam. Can probably find it with a search Explicit Alliance thrasher roam. The tatics we used were very different from what I've seen in EE despite many having been in EO for years. Even Tahini who I've flown with in NO fleets many times has a more loose style of being FC while it was a bit more rigid for our fleets in EO. However these dessy fleets needed it that way to survive and relied on their speed both on grid and traveling through systems. The objective was to hit hard and fast, then be out and multiple jumps away from the system before has time to respond. Didn't always work though, remember in one fleet we were herded into a dead end pocket and had to starburst our way out. We had a few losses including my svipul but most of the fleet made it home safe. However when we were in fleets with the coalition, dessies were never used. We were usually assigned to either a ranged cane fleet or a bomber fleet during the major battles around 2016.
I just got into the Svipul, so this vid is giving me ideas on what to do with it. :)

@@ottomcannick7698 it's a great ship. DPS is low but it's very fast for a Caldari ship and can get some insane ranges.
@Captain Benzie we both know dps isn't the whole picture, if you're knocking out targets in one volley.... does it matter how long the cycle time is?

@@captainbenzie I'm not OP but I love the Confessor. I'll post my fit, C2s I make ~60-70m an hour largely dependent on how long I can keep multifrequency loaded.

I keep the cloak offline until I see someone on d-scan. Then I warp to safe, offline both heat sinks to online cloak. To switch back, drop mobile depot, offline cloak, online heat sinks and carry on. you can also T2 the burner, or B your rep to save some money.
Flying it is nothing special. I could go into great detail about how to optimize the site. But that's too long so TLDR, use your range to push/pull cruisers to next spawn. They tend to orbit ~17-20 which is just outside of multifrequency so what you do is you burn into range and they will move away from you, so you can push them closer to next spawn. With sentries enter in defense mode, you'll get hit about 3 volley's or 50% armor or so. get within aurora range (50km), pull transversal, change to sharpshooter. for second sentry same idea. Then proceed as normal.
Use to use confessor for amarr HS combat and ded sites. Tried afew c2 sites. Not always went well. After watching ur piloting and explanation might need to dust it off and try again. Might try the svipul been trained into it just haven’t ever owned one.

T_T I miss my Jackdaw. Unfortunately, I can no longer use it due to the restrictions imposed on Alpha players. The combination of increased subscription costs and the high price of the dollar in my country has made it impossible for me to afford the subscriptions anymore.
Keep working at it in game. You can buy PLEX with ISK and omega your account that way. Even if you can do it only once every few months, that time as Omega makes it easier to earn ISK for the next Omega.
Get a good corp around you. We've got a load of newer players in our corp that are reaching their first month of Omega, and I do giveaways from time to time too to help.
It's possible, you can do it, and with the right support around you, once.youve done it the first.time, it becomes easier each future time.

I have just been using this fit in a c13 good to know it works in a c2 as well.
Is this fit capable or running all combats in c2 and c13? I have not had any problems yet but I have not done all the sites

what is the diff between the dps and the hp on the offence tab?
You made another video about doing this site in a Drake with alphs skills. Why would you use this very expensive ship that can't face tank a single battleship when you could just use a Drake?
Simply put; not everyone has or wants Caldari BC/Missile skills.
Some folks have ships they want to fly - so I aim to show them how they can.
As an example, I prefer Minmatar ships, I like cannons (though I do like missiles). Imagine someone has skilled into the Svipul for PvP, now they can use that same set of skills for PvE.
Some folks prefer something more challenging.
Finally, a Drake sucks at C13 content which is INCREDIBLY lucrative.
In short, find your fun! In EVE, chasing a "best ship", is usually a quick way to burnout. Find your fun, and fly that!
@@captainbenzie Thanks, didn't know about C13s. If I didn't have the skills or ISK for a Svipul can a Hurricane (Fleet Issue) do this content as well?
@@dbzwarlord C13s only allow small ships in. Then they have the C6 Wolf Rayet effect (so +200% DPS, -50% SigRad etc) and C3/4 sites. Big money for a dessie/frigate pilot.
i have lvl 5 powergrid management and still over by 1.2 on powergrid, am I missing something?
Check Weapon Upgrades as that reduces PG needs.

Really unique ships that are a lot of fun to fly!
I saw your video an i liked the demonstration but i decided to try my hand and see if i could find a build i like even more worth trying out honestly i found one using short range weapons and active shield tanking that is better than what you have here. it's double the firepower and double the effective health includuing an active tank that is 33% more effective. i'm down to share so you can test and tell me how it really works. I'm still fairly new but i love my build.
Glad you're enjoying and definitely this is a ship that can go multiple ways. That said, the lower tank doesn't matter on a ranged ship where you're not aiming to get hit. Being closer, you'll need that extra tank 😉 and the longer range means less travel time between waves. That said, try a closer range fit and see how you like it!!
