I have made two owls without patterns and they've both turned out fine, they're nice and soft for kids (no buttons, just felt for eyes). Now my 8 year old grandson wants me to make him one too.
You have done an excellent job. Your instructions were very clear. I am going to make two for my twin granddaughters and I hope they turn out as nice as yours.
Really cute pillow..TFS. Wanted to give you a tip for the owl eyes....if you would like to sew them on rather than gluing them, look for clear thread instead. The thread is also pretty strong, another plus.
I'm currently doing this for my 2 year dating anniversary. I LOVE owls so much and I can't think of a better gift to give my boyfriend that makes him think of me
Thank you Sarah! My granddaughter loves owls and I wanted to make her something for Christmas with an owl theme. I don't know where I'll go with your owl's, but I'm certainly going to use your pattern. It's so nice to see girls your age doing video's like this, even us grandmothers can learn from. Your tutorial was perfect, keep up the great work! Carrie
l liked this a lot.... I traced the wings and eyes on applique material... leaving a little extra space around I cut out the shapes...(**use a pressing cloth between applique and your iron) and ironed them on the wrong side of the fabric.. then cut them out... 9score the paper on the back with a pin and the paper should peel right off)... then ironed them in place (will deter fraying) and will hold them in place before using a blanket stitch (no pins)... I used the one that is on my sewing machine. These are too cute and my granddaughters will love them...happy sewing
I love this tutorial! I've been looking for a creative way to create rice heating pads (for things like cramps) and I think your owl is the perfect size and shape. I can't wait to get started!
Great ! I was looking for a DIY video about owl pillow and this one is perfect ! My favourite one is... well the pink one because I love how the eyes look like !! Thank you !
I love owls; it's my favorite animal. I can't wait to try this pattern. I love the purple owls you did; it's my favorite color. Thanks for the tutorial; it look simple to follow.

This tutorial is awesome, the making of the pattern all the way through the finished pillow. Thank you Sara so much for this. I will be making several. :D
Thanks for the mini tutorial about the blanket stitch cause my book in HELE is hard to understand (steps only) so i will add this to offline cause I love the owls and i want to learn how to do le blanket stitch and this video is great for me.(i just like saying le instead of the ok so,DON'T judge me.)
I'm going to be making one for my granddaughter thank you so much for your help!! by the way all of your owl pillows were beautiful you're very talented :) keep up the good work!
Adorable idea. I love owls so much and this is just so adorable. I will make these for my children for Christmas. I think they will just love them and more so if Mommy made. Thank you for the cute idea and really just love them all. PS. LOVE those little quarter fabric pieces from Joanne's. I get them all the time but I pay just about $2.00 for each one unless maybe I catch a sale. Lol.
Once you get everything done and sew the two sides together do you still do the blanket stitch or just sew it with a machine. I don't usually sew but you made it look easy! It's so cute!!
Hi, fantastic tutorial! Could u make this into a doorstop by adding rice to weight it down? If so, how would you add a base to the owl so it can stand up? xx
thanks i am just learning to sew and i am going to try. i want to make a pillow for the living room so i think the fabric should be more thick isnt it? which fabric should i use?

I LOVE YOUR VIDEO! and i cant choose witch one is the best. one question ummm where and how did you learn this?
Once you get everything done and sew the two sides together do you still do the blanket stitch or just sew it with a machine. I don't usually sew but you made it look easy! It's so cute!!
Thanks =) You use a sewing machine
I made a green one! So cute!

Hi, fantastic tutorial! Could u make this into a doorstop by adding rice to weight it down? If so, how would you add a base to the owl so it can stand up? xx
That is somewhat beyond me. I haven't ever made a doorstop. It may be a little large?
all of them, especially the purple one!
Purple blue and punk I love them all this is soooooo cute

Fav. Color: Purple! Fav. Owl pillow: all 3!
Super cute! Great tutorial :)
The Purple one is the cutest
I like all three but personally I like the purple and pink ones best.
great video! but what do you stuff it with?
Love this!! Doing it tomorrow during my little girls naptime! So excited!(:
Did you blanket stitch around the whole owl when it was turned inside out or did you sew that with a sewing machine??
This is really cute so trying it!!

I liked these owls but what did you put inside?
Can u hand sew around the owl because I am getting a sewing machine in about another time but I want to do it now so I don't know what to do?
did you use the blanket stitch all the way around the outside?
Cant wait to try!! Great vid
Will it still work if I use both fabrics as checkered?
This is so cute can u do more????? Can u do a heart pillow?:)
thank you! i love all ur videos!
I was thinking of making Yo-yo's for the eyes! Thanks for the tutorial. :-)
My favourite one was the purple one and where can you get the stuffing and well everything else?
You can get it at any craft store I am guessing. They are common supplies.
Thanks for this tutorial!
I love the purple
Thank you for uploading this. Just a quick question - do I have to use Embroidery Floss or can I just use normal thread?
These are so cute.. thank you for the video
So why do i need 2 separate patterns for the front & the back of the pillow? Can't i just use the same one for both sides?
Can I use soft toy filling instead of pillow stuffing???
Fav. Color: purple! Fav. Owl pillow: all 3! =)
Did you blanket stitch to stitch the front and back body? I don't know if you get me
Hi, well that looks easy, great job but was wanting to know did you use a sewing machine to sew around the outside of the owl
Yes, I did use a sewing machine because it is much faster, but you can hand sew if you want
Adorable owl
what kind of fabric u use for eyes?& how can u save edges from threads who came out after cutting?
hi so what kind of fabic can I get because I live in Canada and have a michels, can you let me know thanks shannon
No. But using the same pattern isn't always the best idea. It just does always look the best.
If you haven't sewn before than no its not a good starter project. If you have a little bit of experience, than yes. It is easy.
After stuffing, how did you sew the rest of the owl?!
Thank you -3 :"3
Thanks. I am really trying to get the best lighting possible but the light in my room completely broke.. So this is basically all sunlight.
The one I liked the best was the blue owl
Could you plz clarify the measurements to do the wings of the pattern? I think I lost you somewhere in that
How much fabric do u cut from each side of the paper ..?
I would recommend pinning your pattern down while cutting so it is exact
My favorite is the purple one
This is perfect !!! I need to go to sewing store near my house :D thank you
WOW! these are amazing so well told, very helpful btw your reeeaallyy preetty :)
I like the pink one best but all are cute
Do u use blanket stitch for the nose??
The dark blue one is my favorit
sarah , can u give me any suggestions for my room! !, I have a really small room like a super small onei dnt even have any room a dresser !!
Would you get the same end result if you were to hot glue everything together?
I would maybe hot glue all the rest of the eyes and the nose on, but personally I do not recommend hot gluing the entire pillow.
love them all
Where did you get the fabric from?
it's so cuuuuute, will definitely make it ! ^^
The pink one was the best looking one
i loved all of them
Fabric, Felt, Eyes, and Something to stuff the owl with. I would recommend watching the video again and seeing what all you need.
I stuff them?? Not quite sure what you mean by fluffy?
I actually just like to hot glue it closed. It works great and you can't see it
It's a drafting compass. Also called a drawing compass:)
How did u sew up the hole after stuffing it?
I love this pillow
Aww it's so adorable 😍😍😍😍😍
Do you have an etsy shop if not you should get one
Can u stuff it with anything different
I love owls!
good lighting :)
