i’ve taken 2 courses so far on flvs but now i’m taking spanish 3 on flvs so although i think i can do well on the assignments, idk how well i can answer questions in a foreign language on the dbas. very scared

Toast jelly it’s not always the same I did the dba twice because I failed one and I asked to do it again but the questions were different so the dba questions are not always the same

Most of the questions I get asked on DBA's are already written on the Module Reviews section in Algebra. However it depends how tryhard your teacher is and decides to ask you more than 5 questions.
@Valencia Washington So far, when I did my DBAs they asked me: What I learned in that type of module , topics and key concepts on that module. I say Module because it has a set of lessons and teachers would often ask you questions on some of the lessons on that module and not all of them. Though you should still review each of the lesson just in case they will decide to do all of them. If you're nervous or anxious about it, don't worry. When appointing for a DBA, you can always say that you're nervous about the DBA and the teacher would help you so you can succeed the DBA. They are actually would be flexible with you if you don't know what you are gonna do. I really hope that this helps you in some way :)
I HAVE A DBA FOR ALGEBRA 2 TOMORROW BYE- It actually went good. My dba lasted like 2 minutes maxed, I just was a little confused on how to solve quadratic equations but stlll got a 100 Edit again: It’s like March of 2021 and I finished Algebra 2 and got an A on both segments yay
ik this is a dumb question, but like how do you schedule a DBA?? do you just email/ text and be like “hey when can i set up an appointment for a DBA” sorry i have anxiety lols
Negative points 1. Class is harder with more harder tests 2. You have to submit 18 things a week, 3 in each 6 course 3. DBA's don't tell you what to study for, so you end up over studying 4. If you get caught for plagiarism, they call you on the phone! 5. If you get caught for plagiarism more than 3 times in one class you are forced back to regular school! 6. Barely have any time to read lesson, and do 3 tests in each class, when each lesson is 12 pages long, that is 36 pages to read! In total you have to read 210 pages a week, that is a minimum! 7. Doesn't have a live lesson schedule, so you end up, forgetting when it happens, if you don't bookmark it/save it 8. Some classes don't do live lessons 9. Some teachers call you on the phone if you fail an assignment 10. Can only withdraw from an elective course, the first 2 weeks. When your 3 weeks in, you cannot withdraw from the course. If you fail the course, they send you back to regular school! 11. It is easier to cheat then learn, because of time and pacing on sites like mathway and brainly 12. If you are not on pace your withdrawed! 13. It is very lonely without friends or teachers 14. You have to work on weekends to catch up. 15. Wifi goes in and out, causing work to be lost. 16. Hard to stay focus online 17. Hurts eyes, strains your eyes, and harder to get sleep. 18. Hard to do math online 19. Guidance counselors online are unprofessional and do not respond to emails or help 20. Taking a foreign language class online is horrible, as you have to talk in that language for DBAs 21. FLVS sessions cancel after an hour and you have to re-log in 22. You have to change your password every year 23. Some teachers call you without warning, waking you up from sleep, just to tell you to re-do something 24. You don't learn, its just about passing the course 25. seats are limited, hard to get into class 26. If the turn it in score is high, they assume you are cheating 26. You can't make friends 27. Although your experiences at FLVS are different from the forms of virtual school taking place in most school districts, kids would benefit from hearing you talk about the skills they need to develop like organization and self-motivation and about that deadly enemy you mentioned - "Procrastination". I have enjoyed both your videos. I hope you have the time to make more.

Hi just wondering how was your overall experience with flvs? We are thinking of doing the flex next year. My twins will be going into 8th grade. I have heard horrible stories about flvs but trying to decide. I know with the flex u don’t get issued a high school diploma. But I really would like the flexibility of the flex better. Also the not having to go get the testing done is also a plus. Any tips would be great! Thanks

I’ve been doing flvs flex in addition to going to public school so my situation is a little different but.. it’s definitely a great program, especially if you’re a Florida resident and able to get the classes for free! I’ve heard some bad stories too but it’s usually from people who have a hard time focusing and staying motivated. I’m a pretty self motivated person, but it can be a struggle sometimes to keep going. Overall, as long as your kids take it seriously it will be fine. I wouldn’t say it’s harder than physical school but there can definitely be more distractions. It all depends on your kids and there personality and learning style. The flexibility is amazing though and is probably the biggest benefit! I would highly recommend flvs for sure!!

As far as I know, you can still enroll as a junior and beyond. But either way you need to talk to your school and have your parents switch you. This school year already started so I'm not too sure how it works at this point.
Isaac Stephens I was a junior and I asked my counselor about switching to FLVS and she told me to wait until the first semester was over to start FLVS. I did that and still with this. Im in half senior year now.

Longshlong I do it and it’s really not that hard the first week is just getting to know the website if you need help all the teachers give you there number i started my first year this year and knew the website in less than 2 days.
If you just are starting then it’s not TOO hard, but in general later on it’s going to get stressful, as long as you stay on track, things are different are me, if I were you, depending on your motivation, id stay in public just to keep on track

When taking a dba, you always want to make sure that he/she spends at least 30 min leading up to the dba. If you dont get all the questions right, that is ok, you can do it again 2 times. FLVS has some very nice teachers, and will help you. And the kid said that you will be held back, however, that is not true, you cant fail grades, because that is why most do online, because you cant fail.
