Dooku is a Sith Lord named Darth Tyranus, he was Qui Gon's teacher and friend, like Qui Gon, he gradually became disillusioned with the Jedi Council and after Qui Gon's death at the hands of Darth Maul, he left the order, soon after which he was recruited by Sidious as his disciple, which he needed after Maul's defeat. Dooku, with the help of his influence, pushed many systems that were disappointed in the corruption of the senate of the republic, which was collapsing under its weight, to revolt and demand independence, as a result, these systems will become a Confederation of Independent Systems or an alliance of the Separatists. Thus, the Sith have organized a war in which they control both sides, having the ability to create chaos to gain more power. Dooku suggested that Obi Wan kill Sidious just to take his place with Obi Wan as his disciple, for this is the way of the Rule of Two. The entire conflict, which lasted for several years and was called the Clone Wars, can be seen in the magnificent animated series Clone Wars, which takes place between the second and third episode
@@Prince_the_Onehe was though. There's comics about this I'm pretty sure. He was not on the council due to having an independent streak and disagreeing with certain parts of the Jedi Order's policy.
don't forget...Anakin told his mom, "i will come back and free you" when he left to become a Jedi. So Anakin was unable to fulfill that promise. Plus, he and his mother were slaves and we can assume they were not treated well.

The Jedi fall short in a few areas. 1. After the "ending" of the Sith, they became too involved in politics and became the "police force" for the Republic, instead of a religion and following the will of the Force. 2. The Jedi really have their members suppress their emotions. Instead of talking it out and allowing people to feel emotions, which is something you can't control, they want them to push them down and try to control them. You can feel and experience your emotions without them ruling your life. It's healthy to be sad and cry, but then take a moment and pull yourself together and move forward and get back to positive and happy. The Jedi just tell Anakin to "mind your feelings" instead of helping him through the trouble.
I love your star wars reactions can't wait for you guys to watch revenge of the sith one of the best star wars movie ever made it will be super entertained
Headstong? Stubborn? Arrogant? Is probably one thse that Sophie was looking for. There are some crucial deleted scenes that were cut for length but explain Padmé, motivations. She simply can't resist a lost cause or damafed people to defend... Sifo Dias is NOT Qui Gon Jinn. Also, Qui Gon wasn't a member of the Jedi Council anyway. After a 1000 years of not having to watch over their shoulders for a Sith threat, the Jedi became arrogant and full of themselves and too much involved into politics for their own good.
Not all Jedi were arrogant. Yoda is the first person to say Jedi are becoming arrogant, he said some of the younger ones and a few of the masters were too hardheaded, now you guys are running with that statement and applying it to all Jedi.
SUBBED. Been lurking here and there since 2023 (I think your LOTR trilogy review was my first watch) and I dig your insights, but especially Sophie's for this trilogy. Your insights through the past two prequel films have really won me over to the channel (aside from the fact that you and Mair are fun and hilarious as reactors, and really ENJOY the films you watch!). For a first timer, you're hitting so many nails over the head--things that I didn't pick up on or didn't have insight on through repeated watchings over years. I was a grown-ass ADULT when these were released in theaters and the denseness-obliviousness was STRONG with this one. But you're a Star Wars-nerd, born. Welcome to the club! We're always glad to have folks who dig a good story and have cool, thought-out meta about it even on a first watch! Impressive and well done! And Mair ... your facial expressions THROUGHOUT are golden. The CHILLS you got when the music changed to Vader's Theme while Anakin was ranting about how he killed that whole tribe of Sand People ... EXACTLY. I don't think I've ever seen a reactor or even met anyone else who's noticed that change-over in the music--it happens other places but in that moment ... some of the best foreshadowing I've ever seen, and done just with a slow change in the film score for a few seconds. No one else seems to pick up on or care about that instance of Vader's Theme--or they didn't mention they had. Sophie's not the only one rocking the Star Wars-lover's insight (and kudos to Sophie's bro for not spoiling even a well-known plot twist ... sounds like a good brother). WELL DONE, to both of you. And I'm glad to have found such an awesome R&R channel that's so fun and positive and a literal high point to my evening! All the best to you both and I'll keep watching 😀
Just to piss off the toxic hater trolls who chose to reply (to my original comment) in order to express their vitriol, I've erased all their toxic responses and am re-posting the original comment. If y'all want to express your toxic drama b.s., then do it on your own comment thread, ya haters. After finishing with Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+ (6 short parts) is a great continuation of Obi-Wan's journey and fills in some of the narrative during the 19 year gap between the Prequel Trilogy and the Original Trilogy. I'd really be interested in Sophie's reaction to that series.
Please tell me you guys plan to watch Rogue One??? It is a great movie that is specifically designed to interconnect the prequel trilogy with the original trilogy! Its my favorite after Episode 3!! Thank you for posting these. Love your reactions!
When it comes to Padme and Anakin's romance, the roles are reversed. Padme should have been the mid 24 year old Senator pursuing the 18 year old warrior monk. It's this temptation and the rage of his mother's death that lead him to the dark side.
What you both are missing is, remember in Phantom Menace when Anakin was a little boy and Qui Gon took a blood sample from Anakin and the results were higher than Yoda's, well that's very important in Anakin's development! Yoda sensed it and didn't want Anakin to be trained as a Jedi! Watch what Anakin says and does in this movie as well as in Revenge Of The Sith, plus keep an eye on Chancellor/Senator Palpatine and try to figure out who he is!
Anakin is literally an overtalented punk! I literally hate him in this movie. He's overly cocky and doesn't feel like the rules to apply to him because the Force is so strong with him. Anakin. Made choices. Qui-Gon is dead and has been for ten years. He had nothing to do with Anakin's decisions. Killing people because they do bad things you don't like makes you just as much of a monster. Anakin is a monster for what he did! I don't care if the leaders killed his mother! The women and children didn't but he killed them too out of anger! Punk!
Anakin at this point feels like he's being held back specifically.. which he indeed was. The council feared how fast his power and skills were growing. "They see your future and know your power will be too strong to control" is a fact. He also is severely underdeveloped emotionally considering he was taken from his mother at 9, his only family and connection, then raised by celibate monks who force you to block ALL emotions and attachments. A good portion of the jedi order never accepted Anakin because of him coming late and not being like them. Even members of the council like Mace Windu never liked him and thought of him as an outsider. It's real easy to shit on him in this movie, I get it, but Anakins pov is understandable. Now for the killing of the sand people.. yeah it was out of anger but the Book of Boba Fett has shown that woman and children aren't innocent at ALL. In the BoBF, that clan specially states that not all clans are like theirs and that some are wild savage clans. Like the one here in ep2. They killed like 50 people in a search party, Lars lost his leg and Shmi was tortured for a month straight. Also in the BoBF it's shown that Tuskens are brought up having KIDS and woman doing a lot of things. A kid tusken was literally handling Boba Fett lol. That was a more peaceful clan too.. no telling what the woman and children did in this clan. Guarantee they came charging at him with weapons lol
