It sounds oldie also because it’s directly derived from Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive… similar chords, similar bass riff, orchestra playing around on similar notes, similar tempo and… same key. It’s interesting that the original song had a much more complex harmony, melody and arrangement while Flowers sticks to the essential without being boring, and also has a high level production as you said 😉 Music is changing by going back and reinterpreting in new ways what’s already being done… I guess it has always being like that, no real innovation (with big tiny exceptions), just a continuous evolution…
