This will be my final comment to you.I have found a CD-R in my drawer and thought I would try to burn on this CD.Everything was copied and I tried it on my Panasonic DVD PLAYER and it has worked perfectly.This is a learning curve so use CD ONLY and no DVD disc.This may be useful for others.Many thanks Chris and your tutorials are excellent

Sorry AGAIN Chris, to be the 'Pain in Spain'! I'm just unable to do this! I have 19 pictures to send to DVD-R, and it keeps recording 'data disc', and not to 'DVD'. I have now ruined 8 discs, and I don't know where to go from here? Where am I going wrong? I followed your instructions to the letter. Your valuble help would be most appreciated. @@tobytwirl04 This is normal for the files to be copied as a data disc when copying files or photos to a CD or DVD it will create a data disc which will be playable in other computers and some DVD players as photo disc, as long as you close the disc.

I am struggling with burning photos to DVD's in Windows 11. I get exactly what you got after burning, but it does not launch into any kind of viewer. I have to double-click each picture individually. I usually burn a copy for a relative who does NOT have a computer, but who has a DVD player. Is there a way to burn a DVD of photos that will automatically launch a slide show like Windows 7 used to do? Thanks.
I am not sure, I think its the DVD player hardware/software that decides, if you are just copying photos. You can make a slideshow DVD with Professional software like Corel VideoStudio Pro!
It is showing "there was a problem in burning this disc".. "⚠️ The disc wasn't burned successfully.Make sure that you have the latest firmware for your cd or dvd burner installed,and then try again." 😕

Yes it does need to be finalised this is called mastered in the windows software, make sure you select the option With a CD/DVD player when creating the disc.

What does it mean when you do everything to the "send to.." and when you do that, it just starts copying the files to the D drive, no title box comes up, nothing, and then there is nothing that says "burn" (it's grayed out) nor "finish burning".

Your DVD Players do not recognise Windows Picture CD's or DVD's, not all DVD Players do! In this case you would need to use a DVD authoring program like corel videostudio.

It could be that your DVD player cannot play CD's or DVD's that contain JPG's (not all DVD players are able to do this). Or the laser in the DVD has become weak and it may not be able to play DVD's or CD's that are not mastered professionally. Try the DVD or CD in someone else's DVD player and/or computer and see if it works.
The files that this person wants to copy for a slideshow are definitely jpg photos . she wants to use a DVD player hooked up to a large screen to do this. If the DVD player won't play this what is to be done? jpg's are photo files plain and simple...
Chris Waite yeah sorry that is what I was meant to say is really good for burning photos I can burn 800 photos on to a dvd 📀 cd just under 10 minutes it has really good burning speeds
It really depends on how large in megabytes each picture is. Each picture will be a different size but I would guess that you could on average fit 300 pictures on a CD and around 2000 on a DVD.
Brian Rodwell Officially you are not allowed to download the audio from UA-cam, however, there are 3rd party websites which can grab the audio from a UA-cam video such as www.youtube-mp3.org and then you can burn the MP3 to a Cd with something like CD burner XP.
This doesn't work at all. When I let up on the control key, and left click on photo to burn, there is nothing that says "send" It's as if I didn't do a thing.
My disc are DVD -R and when I hit send to it doesn't have DVD RW it has DVD RW drive E...everything goes left from there as I don't know if the pics are being copied to the DVD. Help please
shemeka Latrese Hi. I think you didn't BURN files to the disc, you SENT the files to the drive. To finish burning, open File Explorer, click DVD RW drive E. Select Finish burning. At least it's like that on my PC.
Doing a tv episode to DVD+R disc i follwed your instructions. Was happy when it started but it took about 60 seconds and the DVD player says Unkown disc. It was too quick to burn a DVD. Any idea why thats happening. Ive tried about 6 so-called free DVD burners but they always have a free trial which puts a watermark in the center of the bloomin screen which is no use. For years i used the great So-Think burner but i think the free versions now changed so when i got this new pc and installed sothink it burned the episode beautifully but the audio sounds like chipmunks talking. Its too fast. Really unsure what to do next as ive went through 7 discs and still not able to get these episodes onto discs to send to my niece. Im sure im using the right discs even though they came from the pound shop they are still DVD+R which is what ive always used in the past. Can anyone help with an easy to work dvd burner please ?
Cheers. After many failed attempts on other burners i used to use in the past but now for some reason the pic quality was great but the people were talking too quickly. Sounded like chipmunks. I did however find a great burner called DVD Flick. It maybe takes around 40 mins for a movie but its good you can name it and have a menu and picture along with music before the start of the movie. Doing episodes you can burn as many as you like as long as the dvd fits them in. I managed 2 episodes on each disc. Turned out very well. Thanks for getting back to me and greetings from Scotland :)
How about a 4.7 GB disk and each photo fullscreen? I put 12,000+ photos on a disk without problem. But I can't find a way to run them as a slideshow. (The several slideshow-making methods I found here aren't useful. They require entering each picture individually.
If you have followed the instructions correctly then I would try a different manufacturer of Disc, if it still does not work then your CD drive may need to be replaced.
We're in 2019 with Windows 10 and Microsoft still hasn't been able to figured out how to make this simple task less complicated! Can't believe 3rd party freeware do a much better/easier job! Thumbs down for Micros**t !!!
Good video, but I have decided not to use cd's any more! too much trouble and if you close burning and eject, windows does a mastering or something and you've ' blown a 700 MB disc for the sake of 20 MB of files. Or "cannot burn this file type etc" waste of time, most discs dead after 3-4 years anyway, store on cloud or ext hdd or usb. Fuck cd and dvd.. so slow too.

Thats great but make sure you have at least 3 copies of your photos somewhere, incase the DVD wears out or gets lost or damaged.

Normally if you use the second option and do not format it should work on any device, maybe try a different type of disc (i.e. a DVD-R or DVD+R).

Your DVD player may not be able to read picture discs or the DVD may not be able to read the type of DVD Disc you have copied the pics to.

No if it’s a DVD movie you need some DVD mastering software to get it in the right format.

you should have added, try to copy the disc files to your HD, to make sure they were burned properly and you don't have a faulty disc

You can make copies of the CD with something like CD Burner XP.

Yes you can burn any file to CD or DVD as long as its small enough to fit.

No do not format the disc, watch the video from 2 minutes 59 seconds it shows you that you need to select the 2nd option.

Is your D Drive the CD/DVD? if your DVD drive is hard drive then this is why!

If you follow the guide then it automatically finalises the DVD, it could be that your DVD wont play JPG CD's

What is the difference between like a flash drive and with a cd/dvd player
A flash drive you can save directly to whereas a CD you need to go through this process.
Question : Does this mean when I put every important documents and files to the cd after you can delete it in the computer after the transfer?
Yes but CD's do wear out or break so you are running the risk of losing your photos so if you can keep them on the computer as a backup!

If you click on it, it will suggest what type of CD or DVD is best for you.

Doing a tv episode to DVD+R disc i follwed your instructions. Was happy when it started but it took about 60 seconds and the DVD player says Unkown disc. It was too quick to burn a DVD. Any idea why thats happening. Ive tried about 6 so-called free DVD burners but they always have a free trial which puts a watermark in the center of the bloomin screen which is no use. For years i used the great So-Think burner but i think the free versions now changed so when i got this new pc and installed sothink it burned the episode beautifully but the audio sounds like chipmunks talking. Its too fast. Really unsure what to do next as ive went through 7 discs and still not able to get these episodes onto discs to send to my niece. Im sure im using the right discs even though they came from the pound shop they are still DVD+R which is what ive always used in the past. Can anyone help with an easy to work dvd burner please ?

Cheers. After many failed attempts on other burners i used to use in the past but now for some reason the pic quality was great but the people were talking too quickly. Sounded like chipmunks. I did however find a great burner called DVD Flick. It maybe takes around 40 mins for a movie but its good you can name it and have a menu and picture along with music before the start of the movie. Doing episodes you can burn as many as you like as long as the dvd fits them in. I managed 2 episodes on each disc. Turned out very well. Thanks for getting back to me and greetings from Scotland :)

I would like to make a slide-show of images stored on my PC. How many images can I burn to disc using this method. I have literally 1000's.
would be impossible to say as It depends on the size of each image and the capacity of the disc, really just trial and error!
How about a 4.7 GB disk and each photo fullscreen? I put 12,000+ photos on a disk without problem. But I can't find a way to run them as a slideshow. (The several slideshow-making methods I found here aren't useful. They require entering each picture individually.

If you have followed the instructions correctly then I would try a different manufacturer of Disc, if it still does not work then your CD drive may need to be replaced.
We're in 2019 with Windows 10 and Microsoft still hasn't been able to figured out how to make this simple task less complicated! Can't believe 3rd party freeware do a much better/easier job! Thumbs down for Micros**t !!!
Unfortunately many laptops are no longer supplied with a CD or DVD drive so its unlikely that Microsoft will invest in making this any easier.
Good video, but I have decided not to use cd's any more! too much trouble and if you close burning and eject, windows does a mastering or something and you've ' blown a 700 MB disc for the sake of 20 MB of files. Or "cannot burn this file type etc" waste of time, most discs dead after 3-4 years anyway, store on cloud or ext hdd or usb. Fuck cd and dvd.. so slow too.
