This sounds awesome. Your videos are always good. I have an original at120et, which I let sit in a box since the 90's because, I thought it had too much treble and it was set up by a dealer. Fast Forward to last week when I went through my cartridges to evaluate what was staying and what was leaving and I spent 2 and half hours very carefully setting it up with a Dr. Feickert Protractor and other tools and it sounds as good as what I'm hearing here. Careful set up is the key and system synergy. I have this album and it is indeed great from beginning to end.
Nice. The 120Eb sounds good and surprisingly well behaved on the treble. I've heard several cartridge comparison videos with older versions of the 120 (120E?) against other brands, and usually the 120 is the one with the more harsh and thinner treble. I wonder if this 120 Eb is more tamed on the treble than the older reincarnations of the 120. But on the other hand, I suppose that in those videos most audio setups have a tendency to sound bright, and in a comparison context this puts the 120 in disadvantage.
Mmmm...it sounds a bit bright, yes, but not thin IMO...I think it sounds very good and quite balanced (for an AT cart). Its weak point is the traceability; don't get me wrong, it tracks very good, but I'm used to the TOTL profiles such as Microline. I bet a better elliptical stylus (130E, 135E...) will improve its performance. I'll try those combinations in the near future :)
Why vinyl sounds better than CD even though both have to be digitized to be heard on UA-cam is a profound mystery to me. I have to conjecture that vinyl has different mastering done on it, and it just happens to be more pleasant to human hearing.

Hola: Exactamente como dice en la descripción es un gran tema y tranquilo. Es un buen instrumental, lo característico es el sonido de la guitarra. El sonido me recuerda mucho a George Benson. :) El video se mantiene lo mas sencillo posible, pero veo que al final ocurre algo, pues el tonearm se levantó unas décimas de segundo antes de que el track terminara, Ya me explicarás como funciona el sensor en esos surcos al final. El sonido, como siempre, es muy bueno. Solo puedo decir, otra AT más. La linea de esta empresa en este rango es muy abundante, solo puedo decir que existe un mar de AT's. Puede llegar a ser un tanto complicado, cuando tienes un presupuesto mas modesto, decidir por cual te iras cuando estas empezando en esto del HiFi. :D Viendo este video, y comparando con el anterior en donde usaste la AT100E, pues no noto diferencia, lo único que podría darme luz para tomar una decision, es que toques la misma pieza con ambas stylus y coloques una justo al lado de la otra. los audios. Creo que aun así costará muchísimo trabajo apreciar cual suena mejor! Muy buena selección como siempre, ya esta de más mencionar, la gran calidad de sonido! ¡Saludos!
+Comicdominicano Hola Raúl :) Este tipo de música me gusta mucho; bien tocada y con una producción muy cuidada. Como bien dices, es un tema tranquilo, aunque con "quiet" me refería a que es um disco muy silencioso, sin ruido de fondo. Le di al botón de "stop" un poco antes de tiempo y por eso el tema queda cortado al final, lo siento... cuando termina la cara el brazo vuelve automáticamente a la posición inicial, pero esta no es la pista final y en este caso era yo el que tenía que poner fin a la reproducción. Cuando disponga de más tiempo haré un vídeo para mostrar más en detalle las características de este giradiscos :) La gama actual de cápsulas de imán móvil solo consta de 4 modelos: 100E, 120Eb, 440MLb y 150Sa. Esta 120Eb me ha sorprendido gratamente... igual que lo hizo la 2M Blue en su momento. No tiene el gran seguimiento de la Microline, pero bien alineada puede llegar a leer sin problema algunos pasajes complejos. En cuanto a la calidad de sonido: nada que objetar, suena muy bien, mejor de lo que me esperaba :) ¡Saladín!
Hola: Estuve pensando que ese salto brusco podría ser un defecto del sensor o en su defecto seria un salto debido a que hay continuidad de temas, es lo que usualmente tienen los álbumes conceptuales en donde hay temas que van de corrido. :) ¡Aclarado el punto,! A mi también me sorprende el desempeño, estaba mirando un catalogo de las AT la cual me paso nuestro amigo +MBMANALOG en donde describe a esta stylus como AT120E, sin la b, como "Elliptical nude shank VM cartridge para-toroïdal" parece que este catálogo tiene sus añitos, porque no hace mención de las b, debe ser así, pero no creo que hayan cambiado las características en los tallados de las stylus Parece que esta linea b sustituye la denominación original. De igual manera, en el papel, con este modelo, dicen estar a la par con la 2M BLUE. Francamente no es el papel, son los oídos los que nos dirán. :) Espero ver mas que mas muestra las características de este TT de Robocop :) ¡Un saladín!
+MBMANALOG Hola Carlos :) No tengo forma de comparar esta 120Eb con su antecesora porque nunca la tuve, lo que puedo asegurar es que esta cápsula me ha sorprendido por su calidad. En su precio es una cápsula muy buena y competente... como suele pasar con las ATs. La 130E es superior, por supuesto, e incluso mejor que la 2M Blue en cuanto a capacidad de lectura. Pero ese modelo y otros que mencionas ya no se fabrican y no forman parte de la gama actual. Si no me equivoco, la familia AT100 consta actualmente de 4 modelos, y las 2m son 5 (sin contar las mono), las OM y las 5x0 mkii, Vinyl Master, etc. también se fabrican actualmente. Total, que actualmente Ortofon tiene más modelos de cápsulas de imán móvil que audio-technica, jaja! 😃 Por precio, la equivalente a la 2m Blue sería la 440...y esta última es superior en cuanto a seguimiento. Normalmente, a mismo precio, AT ofrece más que Ortofon. Pero claro, luego están las preferencias personales de cada uno en cuanto al sonido "de la casa" de cada marca. Por cierto, sí, esta es la 120Eb completa. Siempre incluyo esos datos en el faldón "signal chain". Que estés bien 😊
+MBMANALOG Se me olvidaba lo del headshell. Lo tengo hace años, es original audio-technica de los años ochenta, está hecho de magnesio y es muy ligero (6g). Por cierto, creo que la AT120E/ii es azul oscuro :O
You are obviously still enjoying the Sony?. i would really love one. the sound is superb and the tracking spot on. My Audio Technica has settled in really well and doesn't mistrack apart on the most torture tracks and that's without any antiskate on the arm
Merci de cette vidéo HiFispongebob , j avais oublié cet album vinyle (de ma jeunesse) ! la cellule AT120/EB sonne vraiment très bien sur cette Sony ps 555 s , a bras tangentiel ! bien que je n aime pas trop les mécanismes de correction d angle des TT a bras tangentiel ainsi que tout automatisme gérant les bras de lecture ! d ailleurs le morceau est interrompu avant la fin , est ce voulu ? ou pas ?
N"empêche que je préfère les choses manuelles aux automatismes .. haha , la TT style 1200 mk2 ou mieux , ces choses sont bien plus simples et au moins , nous pouvons facilement régler leurs problèmes en cas .. :) (la précision de la correction d angle des TT a bras Tangentiel , a quel dixième ou centième de ° d angle près ? je n ai malheureusement pas de platine a bras tangentiel , mon dernier souvenir de 1982 fut une SL DL 1 de Technics équipée d un cellule epc23 ou 24 , et via un ampi Luxman L3 , suivi d enceintes Wharfedale E50 , c etait assez époustouflant ! faute pardonnée :) Malekal morte dit de réfléchir avant de cliquer ! ça doit valoir aussi pour les platines ? ;)
héhé ... je préfère le manuel a l automatisme et trop d électronique...cela nuit au son et c est cause de pannes ! ma façon de penser est peut être vieillotte mais sûre et fiable ;) quand j ai vu la correction sur une technics sl d1 j ai pris peur ... ça prend plus de 5° d angle d erreur... peut être que la sony fait mieux ? et puis que penses tu de la magie de la platine manuelle ? un jelco 250 , un grace ,un SME 3009 en 12 pouces , y a plein de bras ! ;) le bras double tangentiel n est pas de bon augure , il analyse mieux en effet , mais double le poids de l équipage mobile .. Quelques uns ont fait (en perso) des choses impressionnantes en bras suspendus voire tangentiels et motorisés ou aussi des bras de 1 mètre en bois ! ça laisse rêveur quant au résultat
