Thanks i have 2013 focus s estate and love it but i hate how jobs that should be a simple change of a bulb are made so difficult 😂 thank you ford haha. But appreciate you showing us makes it alot easier

Hi, Just seen your video on changing the brake light bulb. The reason for the twin filament is the lower wattage is lit when the boot is opened without the ignition being switched on.

I just tackled this job and thought I would raise a point that I can't remember if you covered (sorry I watched the video last night and don't remember so maybe you did say this). The light unit is poorly designed. The final inch of the red plastic part is very easy to snap off when levering out the unit against the final clip. OK if you take care but of course you might not realise the first time. Whoever had my car before had done this and glued the broken piece back in place. Main issue is that it leaves the unit vulnerable to rain and crap getting in, so I will be sealing mine with some silicone. Once the broken bit is back in place it looks fine (I didn't notice it until I removed the lamp assembly myself).

Thanks for the comment. Yes mine is the same on the other side. Someone has glued it. It’s an easy thing to break by mistake

Unfortunately I can confirm this, I broke mine today on 2015 mk3.5 with 200.000 km and glued it (I tried to apply glue generously inside where red plastic meets gray plastic so hopefully it is sealed ok). The last clip was so stuck that it felt like another screw was there (this was probably the first time it was removed as I bought the car in early 2019). I wiggled it for good 5 minutes and of course it released only after that red plastic snapped 🤦‍♂ poorly designed indeed.

I find the third brake light is a nightmare to get out, how about doing a video on that haha 👍

Lol I’ve never done it but as it’s led would it just not be the two screws and replace full unit?

Double filliment bulb is standard fitment from factory all the range has them fitted.

I changed my brake lights indicators and reverse to LED fog lamps just to go.
My back lights are the same as yours I have the titanium x my headlamps are different though
