Cant understand how can Hyundai offer such an archaic stereo system in such a recent car...
It's the SE basic model. Makes it cheaper. I have this model for 2018 and want an upgrade so bad!
This is the exact video I was looking for thank you so much dude!!! 💜💜💜
Awesome and one-handed to boot!
Thanks for this video. Saved me some trouble.
Did you try to install the stereo also? Or did you succeed?
Than you
U r The BEST
Nice, always questioned if this was possible! Consider checking an accent or a 2011-2016 Elantra before the remodel.
Is the radio/screen (with CD player) you replaced with the original some older version vs from the radio/screen that you removed?
I'm curious why you didn't backtrack the wires and clips they are just basically a wire assembly. So if you would have taken the wire assembly that goes with the monitor screen off of the car in the junkyard and brought those with you to go into the car that you're working on to go with car display screen with the buttons that you pulled out of the junkyard car... if you look in the car that you're working on the one that used to have the Antiquated radio use high beam flashlight look in the very back of the dash near the firewall and you'll see plug- and play insert clips where the wire harness will plug into in back of the dash you can see the clips that they monitor screen wire harness can plug into their supposed to be Universal. The plugs should be there for the wire assembly that can accommodate the wire assembly that you should have pulled out of the junkyard with the screen. In your video you just checked in the back of the radio and saw that it was different wires but if you would track those wires back into the back of the dash near the firewall you'll see that they can pull out and there's a series of plugins that will accommodate the new wire assembly that you should have pulled out of the junkyard with the screen. I hope my comment makes sense very hard for me to write this. I hope this helps you and I hope it's not too late to do what you originally wanted to do. Should be able to do what you were originally wanted to do it's already built into the car as a redundancy. Very much like the old Buicks all came with a light package they just didn't have the light bulbs and in some cases they didn't have the wire harness that went into the plug clip but all you would really need back then was the wire to go into the clip that holds the light bulb. I know that's a bad example that's all I can think off the top of my head. Many car manufacturers have multi- option plug-and-play connections. They do this to break the cost down in manufacturing. Rather than having different Connections in the same car model. In the Hyundai Elantra the 2017 and the 2018 are basically the same. It's not until 2019 that things get slightly different. Although there can be differences in the engines themselves. Like 2019 has a completely different engine and transmission. Even the dash design is different but to my knowledge 2016 2017 and 2018 are all pretty much the same at least the plug-in play plugs are all the same. Again I hope this wasn't too confusing.
Does anyone know where I can buy the plastic that goes around the radio I have the radio but need the plastic peice as it’s not the same for the base radio
Maybe with the GPS navigation radio will work. Both have the same harness wiring
Hi, the first radio not have rear camera?
Can you explain to me how to install an original camera on the same screen?
Can you explain to me how to connect the camera to the same screen as the Elantra 2017, the wire to operate it
Did you ever get a video or figure this out?
Is there a SD card slot on 7 inch radio
The only radios that have a SD card slot are 8in navigation models
Is there a harness adapter to go from the base model to the 7inch screen?
i guess this works for the model 2019 and 2020
www.ebay.com/itm/143421756566
search in Ebay, you will find all models
Did anyone try to buy a different cables/harnesses and actually succeed?
Can I connect a back camera to this ?
Not sure
Will that stereo work for the 2019?
I’m wondering the same thing.
@@shepherdlover1955 Do you have a 2019 elantra too?
@@JN-53 yeah
I would assume
So you can’t upgrade the base model radio to the one with the 7inch screen?
You can upgrade factory radios wise but there is always aftermarket
