We did it! 200,000 subscribers on a mostly Quake and Mouse Review channel. I honestly had no idea the channel would get this popular. Big thanks for all the support and glad the videos are helping so many!
In this video I wanted to touch on something that the overly stressed and tightly strung among us suffer from... letting things flow. Just go with it. See what happens. Give yourself time to learn and figure out your potential.
Another problem is that if you try to achieve one result over and over, you will miss out on results you didn't even know were possible. I think it's good to set goals, but then keep an open mind and see where you go.
Life is a crazy thing, you never quite know where you'll end up. I'm a UA-camr with 200K! I thought I was becoming a writer. Nope. Well maybe one day. You see what I'm saying though?
Yeah, can't predict this stuff, just like you can't predict how well you're going to aim.
Although if you are going to practice, I suggest doing it in real situations / in games. The aiming I showed at the end is just something I mess around doing when waiting for a game.

"I honestly had no idea the channel would get this popular."
When you take into account how false or shilled most review channels and other youtubers are, honesty, modesty, and (humility?) are a very welcome sight; especially when they're an unbiased character and point out the flaws, even in the most well-built products (i.e. Model O, Zowie FK1, etc.) Add to the fact that you actively try to help your audience become better as either a gamer or a person, there's nothin' but good things to say; unless of course someone doesn't like something, or wants to critique something.

Thank you for uploading such a great and valuable videos. You are talking about things I always had in my mind while playing and those thoughts always made me play worse for a days, untill I tried harder to clear up my mind. I could focus all the things I have learnt playing Quake over the years by myself only for a day or two playing ranked duels in Quake Champions. I kept forgeting counting items, I changed my sensitivity and fov all the time, even crosshair look and colour, just because I have lost few battles. I always knew that rushing in Quake is a bad tactic but I was still doing this becasue my mind was filled with some negative thoughts. Two frags lost at the beginning and I got nervous for the whole match. Your advice videos helped me to train my mind and whats really important to focus while playing. I wont be worry about missed rails anymore. Thank you Ninja. I knew that if I can win with someone really good twice in a row but next day loose even to 0, it means that Im focusing my brain on everything else but not effective playstyle. You are getting to every single problem I was trying to handle. Now thank to You I got it all on your channel. Check my Quake matches if you want to :) Keep your great job. I regret that I havent found your videos before buying DeathAdder Elite. Now I see that Razer Viper Mini would solve my problems with getting my hand underneath the mouse while tracking with the LG.

I've recently reached the point in my aim in CS where I lead without thinking, prefire opponents next spot constantly, and can flick consistently. I used to obsess over settings, body position, and technique, and I was wondering why I don't think about that kind of stuff anymore. Thank you for putting this concept into words. Just another example of the importance of practice. Hopefully now that I'm aware of it, I can extend it to other areas of my life... It just so happens I started practicing free throws a few days ago. 100 thoughts racing through my head before every shot, and I can make a solid 1 or 2 out of 10. :O
    We'll get there.
I don't leave comments often so as long as I'm here, thank you for the videos. You are one of the premier content creators on UA-cam, and the first person I would go to look for advice on mice. You dominate this niche. Would love to see more videos on aim techniques.

I have played games since I was little and put so much time into them. I have played like this so much but it never lasts for more than a few days or a week. I always end up getting in my head and getting disappointed because my expectation is what I was able to get while I was flowing. Once that happens it just all goes away.

I play CS competitively and I am telling you this is the thing which sets me back. It's just insanely hard not to doubt and overthink stuff. My aim suffers so much from this. It's easy for you as it seems, but for some of us it's almost impossible to "just let it flow"...

  • @Commander_Boreale
    @Commander_Boreale 5 років тому +2

This is a good advice for a novice and a terrible advice for an experienced player.
If you are new and noobish and you want to perfect your aim, you should just let it go and you will be perfectly fine, as you will be learning everything from the start. Get a good mouse, train with it, and you will climb the ranks slowly but surely.
If you already have a specific muscle memory with a certain grip and mouse, and you are getting yourself a new mouse (if the one you used is out of production), you should NEVER let it flow if you feel like you are uncomfortable with aim and grip. Re-learning is not worth it, time and effort-wise, whatever your confidence and now matter how much you "let it flow". In fact, you won't be able to let it flow, because your brain has adjusted to a different playstyle and orders you to do stuff that you can't do with a new mouse, mostly due to a new shape and weight. Search for a mouse that feels like the one that you used before, dump the ones that don't fit or return them to the shop. If you opt for re-learning with a different mouse and you do let it flow, consider that it will be 100 times more difficult than it was when you were just learning everything from the start, you will always feel like you are underperforming and it will be infuriating, as you know that you can do 100 times better than that. Find a mouse that ALLOWS you to let it flow the way you were "flowing" with your old mouse, its not worth it to force yourself to learn how to play with a different mouse. Thats from experience.

To add to this, a Zen perspective.
    The Need to Win
When an archer is shooting for nothing He has all his skill.
If he shoots for a brass buckle
    He is already nervous.
If he shoots for a prize of gold
    He goes blind
    Or sees two targets -
He is out of his mind.
His skill has not changed, But the prize
    Divides him. He cares,
    He thinks more of winning
    Than of shooting -
    And the need to win
    Drains him of power.

This is very true. Same goes for grip on your mouse. The grip you default to is always the right grip.

This is so true with overwatch, where everything about you is complicated, and you need brain power to understand the situation and adapt you game style.
This tip is so good. Nice video.

Use your brain for reaction, use your flow to use snap with your mouse. Thinking about aiming and accuracy is for training.

Thanks for all your effort dude, just bought a Glorious Model 0 after watching your review. Man I haven't played Rocket arena 3 in decades, your aim is crazy good especially your Rocket shots they are so hard to pull off. Currently have a Logitech G700s and its a brick compared to the Model 0, weighing 156 grams and its playing up so its time for a new mouse. Thanks again and i'm going to have to look into Quake live.
