- Citizen have just released the Full Titanium Tsuyosa killer, the NJ0180.
Great looking watch but at 429€ it might be priced a bit too expensive.

It is crazy when 429 considered "pricy", but then 6k for moonwatch considered "bang for a buck"

@@wongpandai I have a small wrist yes i know. My 36 Explorer and my BB58 are perfect for me. My 41 Sub is also ok because it does not have an integrated bracelet. Therefore, a Citizen or a PRX in 38 are perfect for me

Nobody should ever pay full msrp price for Citizen or Bulova. You can always find them discounted by at least 25% and even up to 50% at Citizen brick and mortar stores, or even online. 100m water resistance, titanium with proven coating, saphire, beautiful design and at 25% off, it is fantastic piece and awesome value!!! My only gripe is the 3Hz movement vs 4Hz smoother sweep, but it is not enough to deter me from buying it as it will last forever no matter what. Way better than Tsuyosa with its 50m water resistance. Thanks for bringing this one to our attention, appreciated!
Yes I like 4hz watches too. But in small seconds it is less noticeable and power reserve should last longer.

i really like Bulova and Citizen but they can be very frustrating offering us watches that are a brick shy of a load: they drop a Miyota 8xxx into the watch or the dial is way too big or fill in the blank.
I love Citizen and love this one. I was not blown away by the original Tsuyosa, but this is beautiful. My only gripe is I think its a bit over priced. I think I might sit patiently and wait a bit to pick one up on the secondary market.

Or just wait til the hype dies down. I'm sure you can pick up from Jomashop or Chrono24 for 20%-30% off after 6 months or so.
Nice thoughtful review! I agree, including the 9000 series would have made purchasing this watch essentially a no brainer, at least for me. I'm not as concerned with the advertised price, however, as Citizen watches can typically be found at greatly reduced prices on the secondary market, especially once the fervor has died down.

They finally fixed the bracelet, removed the rounded links that do not match the angular case. It was particularly bad in the Tsuyosa small seconds. And better legibility.
I love the dial, especially in that colour. Having it be a fully titanium watch as well is great... But I'm with you, they definitely cheaper out on the movement, it deserved a 9000 series.
Totally mate, a 9000 here would have allowed a slimmer case, and overall a better proposition
Thanks Olivier. It's a very interesting model. Even better then the évolution of thé tsuyosa. The Tissot look, thé green dial IS great. Thé date complication, titanium of course and saphir... I imagine the lume IS not Bad. And 10 ATM IS greater for everyday Wear... It's a really classy élégant but tool watch! A little bit Expensive but for a titanium Citizen it's ok!😊

Very attractive, but the text is a dealbreaker. You don’t see Rolex putting “Gold” on the dial. Citizen needs to realize sometimes less is more.

There is also a salmon dial version, which looks lovely, ref NJ0180-80z.
Also seen a grey dial with the ref as nj0180-80h.
What an awesome watch but why are they handicapping this watch with a budget movement? The 8000 series movements are fine movements for budget watches but this watch deserves a 9000 series movement. I really don't understand Citizen or Seiko for that matter. Micro brands and a good amount of aliexpress watch brands are producing better watches for lower prices that have better specs. Anyway, rant over. Still a nice watch.

Think about it , if Seiko offered this what do you think it'd cost ? bearing in mind you'd still get an equivalent NH variant so in my mind it seems fairly priced . Mind you they're in danger of going into intergrated bracelet overkill across their range but a nice piece nonetheless.
I'd cost 800€ to 1500, it's hard to know with Seiko's ridiculous pricing, but certainly over 800

I like the 100m water resistance. The Tsyosa had just 50m
What is it that our Japanese friends have with date windows?? Just as with the Orient Bambino, the only thing wrong with this beautiful piece is that superfluous date window.
I agree with your view on the price point. I would place it (considering the movement) in the Bambino tier, 250 €, or $.

250 is a bit generous, 350 and I'd have been a happy man. Or the current price point, even 450 with the 9 series

Man i wish they beefed up the luxury a bit on this to compete more with a CW12.
Love the design. With the movement and crystal I don't think it's worth the full price, but these should be attainable for much less eventually.

A very nice watch, there is also a version with Eco-Drive. I really hope that the quality of its workmanship will be high, comparable to the prx. Because in the case of Tsuyosu, the bracelet was tragic, below criticism
I very much like the version with the Eco Drive which was released a couple of years back. That one with a 9 series would just have been great 👍
I've never seen this model with Eco-Drive. Moreover, on Citizen's German website it is described as new model🤔

I think the spacing between the links is too large. In the case of such watches, the bracelet is crucial

The PRX has the better movement by far but this one has the better materials and more interesting dial. Hard call
Why would they release this so close to the new Tsuyosa? About the price: These are standard Citizen prices. They always come down after a year, my Barnacle diver for example had a suggested Retail-Price of around 900 euros or dollars depending on your currency on release. Bulova belonging to Citizen also had their fairly recent GMT-Release at 1200 at the start, now you can get them between 650 to 780.
I wanted to get the blue dial Tsuyosa but am currently waiting on Jody's (From Just One More Watch) new Erebus to see if I wouldn't prefer that as the Blue-Dial piece I wanna buy next.

T4YC. I love Citizen, and I think that the price is reasonable for the movement provided, but the text "automatic" and underneath, "titanium" is not a good piece of design, for what is supposed to be a beautiful watch.

I just really don’t like offset small seconds complications. I like it at the 6, can maybe accept it elsewhere on a chronograph, but at the 5 for no reason? I just really hate it. I get why someone would like this, and love that for them, but not even close for me.
Why are they only releasing these in Europe? You can't even get them in Japan.

And it lost all it's charm by moving crown to 3 (imho only!).
My watches are mostly (except couple of vintage ones) with crown at 4 o'clock and I really prefers it this way.

Nope not really excited for this. The case could have been made smaller to achieve the smaller lug to lug and the central seconds should be in the centre as well.

Titanium bracelet and case = scratches
Small second + date = can't be dressed up.
Tsuyosa is way more GADA than this one and some colorways are good for dress up.
Far too expensive. A very cheap movement, and the bracelet+clasp also look cheap. There are microbrands on the market so much nicer for less
The Citizen Tsuyosa dial colours are much more beautiful than these
...the "real" Tsuyosa-Killer is the NB1050 - nothing else...
I would prefer around 36mm but would take one at 38mm.

I think it looks fantastic, Ice Blue the stand-out for me. 40mm is a good size in my opinion. I also think an applied logo would have looked much more luxurious.
