#blender #curves #arrays In todays episode we take a look at duplicating objects along curves both with & without distorting the duplciated object! Let's go!
Buddy I’ve got to tell you, these are probably the best short form tutorials I’ve seen in a while. The production value, narration, and instructions are all impeccable. Keep going like this and you’ll go places. Cheers
okay i came here to know how to do one thing and i learned 3 super valuable tricks : disable in render option ; make instances real ; constant offset panel in fit curve from array modifier. GENIUS ! Thanks a lot.
It would have been good if you told the viewer that the scaling etc. of the object you want to copy needs to be applied I struggled for about half an hours before I realized I had to set my object to the center and apply transformation so it would work properly anyways thanks a lot for the guide
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, when I follow the steps for array mod, and then curve mod, I'm getting two arrays one called way down and another way up, one at start of curve and one at end of curve neither aligned with the bez.curve object. I'm stumped. Had object, & curve at objects origin, made plane to fit, parented selecting obj then curve. Start array mod, fit to curve selected bez. Curve. Everything seems fine so far got an array as long as my bez curve. Then I add the curve mod to curve and that's when everything looks different and I start getting two arrays...
I appreciate your efforts in creating a short tutorial but what it fails to explain is how to set origins, cursors, applies and all. Literally have been spending hours, if this was explained here, it would have saved so much more time than 10 more seconds of video content...
You're upset now, but just wait until you get good at Blender and you only want to see the specific process in the tutorial title and instead you have to click through all the superfluous stuff you're complaining isn't here- you'll be grateful for tutorials like this.
Hello sir, can you help me, everytime i use curve wodifier my objects are messed up, it dosent matter what axies i use its all blowen away. i also applied the scale, rotation, location with ctrl+ A, but nothing changed. everytime iuse a curve modifier its like this...can you help me ?
how do i remove the original object? instead of hiding it. cause everytime i want to change the color (of the cone, perse) i have to go back to the original object to change it--- when i make instances real (it does exactly what i said i wanted above^) but now i cant join the objects (all cones) together as it said its not a mesh and i cant convert it either
What if the plane is still deformed and you parent the other object to it but still get the same result before you followed these steps? What would you do to fix it?
Thanks this worked just as described unlike many other videos where even following to the T still results in varied results just because they did something based on muscle memory and forgot to mention that. However, this technique has posed a new obstacle, how to show the object in renders and not the plane?
@@MrClauried if you still want to have them move along the curve you can can deselect "Show Instancer" for render in the object properties of the plane!
I still dont get it, why plane if I have my own object I want to follow the curve xD Its always such a nightmare working with curves, been using blender since 2.6 and its still the same mess lol, blender is driven on addons haha

Thankyou so much, I'll try my best!
@@therealblenderbox Marco couldn't have said it better
Control P for parenting. After selecting 2 objects, press ctrl p.
Wonderful! Just wonderful and exactly what I've been looking for. Nobody covers this like you do.
This video alone is worth a subscription, thanks for saving me a lot of time man

You’re welcome glad you enjoyed!
Wow! nice tutorial. Well-made content. This channel needs more attention for sure.
Thankyou so much!
Pls let’s give this man a round of applause.
you are my favorite blender youtuber hands down, thx man i really appreciate what you're doing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Terrific Tutorial. Excellent work. Easy to follow along. Thanks for sharing.
Bro that video intro is the best I've seen in the community. Worth subscribing based off that alone lol
Fast and efficient, that's awesome thanks !
Awesome! Thanks for this tutorial.

Yo don't forget to apply the scale my g
love you brother, just what i needed ❤❤
Brilliant been looking for this for ages great stuff
Happy to help!
How to remove the planes?
Select Plane -> Object Properties -> Instancing -> Show Instancer -> uncheck boxes. (Visible in video at 1:08)
Best Blender tutorial channel right now
Wow, thanks!
amazing tutorial!!
How do you hide the plane?

omg thank you i was about to do it all manually haha
When I choose faces it fucks everything up, my wood plank becomes big square tile?
How about if it's different objects along a curve? Like a 3D word along a curve?

great tutorial, but if you guys are deforming on the z axis as well, the instances doesnt adapt to normal direction
Yes, what to do then? Everything changes when the curve is 3 dimensional
Okay I followed the tutorial at every step but the object I parent to the plane, set instancing on the plane and the object still deforms

I'm sorry I don't understand your question.

Choose 'Make Instances Real'
@@therealblenderbox Thank you

why does the array and curve modifier not work for me?
ever?
Amazing! is there any way to make a proportional scale of this object along a curve or a straight line?
Great
Unfortunately the plain technique does not work for cylinder models...
It should work for any model, the plane is just an anchor for the duplicate object.
Tnx man, Good job..
Thankyou!
When I add array modifier it spawns millions of them ignoring the curve
It always must be a BEZIER curve, right? If you use a Poly curve the result will be extremely distorted.
Great video. Sadly newest version is extremely buggy. Worked great for 3.0 but 3.6 has issues. On one item it'll work, the next, complete botch.
When I have two objects beside each other and i try to move one from the other. The object I am moving away from distorts. How do I fix that?
I remember making curve mod not deforming array object a lot simple & intuitive in blende 2.xx. Is there another method w/o parenting?
Very helpful. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
When I set it to faces, the object gets totaly distorted? Also you sound like Robert Webb
Does this still work? In every attempt I've tried my objects don't rotate along the curve but deform instead
same here
@@Unknown-vn8hf try resetting the scale of all the objects you’re working with. That’s what fixed it for me.
THX!!!
I got you!
How to add toon shader with stroke like that? thanks
I'm planning on using this technique with a dynamic chain. Would adding the parented plane cause an issue when trying to animate the chain?
Hmm, not sure, you might run into clipping issues, sorry.
Love this tutorial...
Thankyou!
Thank you for not making this tutorial a year long ...*cough*donut tut*cough*
blender 3.6 still defroming pls help
why not making the music even louder 😧
I still dont get it, why plane if I have my own object I want to follow the curve xD

can you make Vidio about lightning pls
Earned a sub!
In an oval path, my object still deformed even after parenting.. 😢
Can I animate using blender in my 8gb ram Laptop
Blender is pretty light weight so I'd say so!
