    WOW! Another great action video! Terrific camera holding skills to get the best spray gun and bead reflectorizing action. Keep up the GREAT work guys as I am really enjoying viewing your videos! Thanks!

    We build a nice MMA machine with an alarm to warn you if the catalyst loses pressure. One operating in BC Canada now and many in the US.

    Just a random idiot here, but can anyone tell me whats with the sand? Is it to make the paint have "texture" so its harder to stripped by traffic, Or is it for something else entirely?

      The sand you are referring to is actually reflective glass bead (it does feel like sand and is fine like sand). This drops into the MMA and sticks to it close to the surface. At night in the dark, your headlights on your vehicle will reflect off the glass bead in the MMA making the lines visible as you drive. If you watch the point when the yellow is being sprayed you will see the glass bead form a faint rainbow on the screen as the sunlight reflects off of it too. You're no idiot, you're a curious watcher. This is really interesting stuff to work with. Thanks for the comment!

    Will you be doing a hot applied thermo action video soon too? Take care

    • @doinglines9587
      @doinglines9587  3 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately we do not do hot applied thermo currently. Where we operate rarely specs thermoplastic for jobs. Hot thermo also requires slightly different equipment. The alternative to thermo that is normally spec'd here is MMA as in this video. Thanks for the comment!

      @@doinglines9587 No problem, I promise that you are not losing a subscriber for not getting involved with hot thermo! Lol Keep up the great videos. I am enjoying them immensely! Stay ssfe

    How do you remove the old so cery well done?

    • @doinglines9587
      @doinglines9587  3 роки тому +1

      Are you talking about removing the old paint? On this project the asphalt was fresh and had never been painted before so light pre marking was done first to locate lane lines, then a groove was made using a large grinder for the MMA to lay in. This groove protects the MMA from snow plows

    I have heard mma is stronger than thermoplastic and it lasts longer I’ve also heard the opposite what’s your take on the subject great video by the way

    Just the finish of that paint looks weird, even extrude can level itself getting a great looking surface

      This brand of MMA always tends to ripple like that, I don't mind it personally but its all preference. Thanks for the comment

    • @wildcard1958
      @wildcard1958 3 роки тому

      It’s rippling cause you’re going too slow. If a thicker line is required you need to extrude it. Spray material isn’t made to be applied this thick.

    • @doinglines9587
      @doinglines9587  3 роки тому

      @Brad Kapteyn I would have to disagree as going faster still has ripples and then you also fail to get desired mil thickness. A different brand of MMA at the same speed and pressure self-levels itself to not have the ripples. We have tested out multiple brands of MMA and at differing speeds and pressure, and the Ennis-Flint is the only one that does this rippling. It is a visibly thicker viscosity in the pail. Yes you are right that It can be extruded which is a possibility for crosswalk blocks but would be far too inefficient for a road line. The yellow in the video is a different brand of MMA and at the same speed and pressure you can see that it self-levels itself.
