moving that middle note is changing the scale from natural minor (aeolian) to the minor harmonic if anyone was wondering, it's basically a more Egyptian sounding minor scale
yeah, the minor harmonic has the leading tone which was E in this case (half step away from F). in the class i learned the leading tone is supposed to resolve up to tonic (F) but in this beat he made it resolve down, still sounds good! so interesting to see how many times the "rules" of music are bent but it still sounds good
