Volvo Amazon 'Bluebus Solidus' at Barbon Hill Climb, June 13th, 2024

Last run of the day and a new PB of 33.66s. Having watched this back there are still some places I can tidy it up and maybe shave off another half second or so. Next time...
Tried, and failed, to give a running commentary. Obviously I can't speak and drive at the same time! Who knew. The one sentence I did manage to throw out made little sense too, but in my defence it is quite tricky keeping the old girl on the black stuff and out of the scenery. Worth noting that this time earned me 5th in class, but only beaten by much more modern classics such as a Lotus Sunbeam (VERY well driven by Terry Deere), a race prepared and stripped out Triumph Vitesse, and a 205 GTI track car running Jenvey throttle bodies! I'm very happy with 5th in class, particularly as there were 15 cars competing and many really close in times. In my head I was 1st of the 'old' classics :-)
