❤A most excellent reaction and analysis of one of the most versatile, powerful, beautiful voices on the planet. Dan Vasc is absolutely phenomenal. He sings many genres of music and his covers are as good as or better than the originals. I hope you'll subscribe to his channel and explore his catalog. I loved Seal's original version but Dan's metal version is killer. He does an incredible "Amazing Grace" that's the best I've ever heard. And with Christmas coming, you need to hear his metal arrangements of "Adeste Fidelis" and "Angels We Have Heard on High." Really, whatever you choose will be both surprising and remarkable. He will introduce you and your subscribers to songs and bands you didn't know would become favorites. From the acoustic "Loch Lomond" to Disturbed's version of "Sound of Silence" to "Nessun Dorma," Dan does it all. Even his cover of Iron Maiden's 40+ year old classic, "The Number of the Beast" is so amazing that we church ladies find ourselves humming Victor the Guitar Nerd's perfect rifts. Well caught on the glissando in the harsh vocals. It's the kind of thing I'm only used to hear from specialists in harsh vocals like Will Ramos or Britta Götz. I might have heard Masha Scream or Adrienne Cowan pull it off, would have to check. For more on Dan's moves between different clean and harsh, go for Burn Butcher, Burn next. Three different cleans and five or six different distortions, a really cool and dramatic instrumental arrangement, surprisingly musical for all the changes.

I like your analysis of your reaction to Dan Vasc. He has such a tremendous powerful voice that is so incredibly versatile. I really would love it if he would put DVDs out of his UA-cam performances, because I like to watch how he forms his mouth and even his stance while he sings. He puts a lot into his performances that when he starts to speak afterwards, it seems like an entirely different person. He performs with his whole being.

I REALLY like his covers of songs performed by women. Another thing I like about Dan is his pronunciation of the lyrics-I’ve rarely heard a vocalist who can enunciate so well!
He is so emotive. His eyes and mouth are always so expressive. So many tools in his tool chest it is astonishing. I never liked metal music until I heard David Dramien and Dave. It is an art.❤

Fabulous reaction! I love hearing from a voice teacher. I’m classically trained myself (coloratura soprano with a 3.5 octave range-well, I used to be-then I was a homeschool mom for 23 years!) and just love it when someone can appreciate a singer like Dan Vasc in the same way as me. He is extremely skilled. Oh, if I could sing with him! ❤

I never tire of watching people's faces when the intensity goes sky-high. lol
Great reaction and explanations! I have learned about jaw and tongue placement because of issues with my daughter - well it seems as tho most of the world (especially Americans) have much smaller jaws these days which causes a cascade of issues. I pay attention to anyone I see and this is one thing I noticed about Dan right away - his jaw is an example of what everyone's should be. His genetics, his upbringing in Brazil, his diet as a child as he was developing are all blessings for his health that most Americans just don't understand. I have wondered if this is also a huge bonus for his vocal abilities.

From all the reactions ive seen of Dans many covers, I believe you and Elizabeth from The Charismatic Voice are the only ones to talk about tongue placement and mouth shape, tho she goes into much greater detail with his "Amazing Grace" performance.

Hi, you must have a good ear, and I wondered why nobody ever seems to mention that last note that he holds. Is it just me, or towards the end, does it actually sound like metal, as if its played on an instrument, or are my ears hearing something that no one else hears? I can't explain it very well, sorry.
You might be hearing overtones. It happens when notes are perfectly in tune.
