Haki is willpower, in which she has already shown that hers wavers often and she experiences fear. She isn't dauntless like Luffy, and her willpower is not infallible due to not just her age but how fearful she is of certain things. Her child-like anger tantrums won't overcome prolonged fear and torture that celestials are known to impart onto their "property" given we saw all the weaponry sticking out of Kuma in Mary Geoise. When the emotional trauma of losing her father and being unable to hurt Saturn was enough to make her wanna die on the spot, so I don't think *HER* version of G5 includes being wrapped in a complicated coating of coc and other haki, but the power of her childish imagination might balance that scale a bit. It's often told to us outright that it is Haki that will determine the winner, and it may be that a specific type of Haki is needed to break the Gorosei.... either way it can be all but confirmed that she won't touch Luffy levels of strength.
Side-Note: I wonder why everyone thinks Bonney is gonna have the same move set as Luffy because of this. I doubt she's gonna start saying Gomu-Gomu no (firearm term here) and throwing hands with everything, but I CAN see her using other cartoonish properties of it like road-runner esque redirecting of attacks by picking up a strip of floor and moving it to lead to a mountainous wall, or making imaginative things out of now rubberized terrain and buildings to use as traps or weapons. If she's totally free, maybe she is totally free to use her age powers on whoever she wants and she actually fucks with gorosei ages.
TL;DR - The community that is mad is likely mad because they lack imagination of what this COULD bring because they were imposing their own imagined head-canon narrative that was copy-pasta from some other shonen.

Forget the fact that Bonney can become Nika, too. That's not what's important. What's important is the implication that she really can become anything. I don't expect Oda to take our main character and split his story 50/50 with Bonney just because she's gone full Nika. What I WOULD expect is in a far later fight where Luffy and the Nika powers are less effective, Bonney uses this knowledge to flip the script and fight fire with fire. If it's against Imu and they've seen the powers of darkness and fear, she could say "Give my most fearful future" and become the same as Imu. We all know the main villain's true crime is always fear. She has so many futures as options on the Straw Hat crew like copying Zoro's "most determined" future or Usopp's "most courageous" future. And of course she could give others their "most free future" as well, but expect limitations, Oda isn't a fool won't make her into a Mary Sue. She can't be one, she actually has a traumatic backstory. Bonney could be the switch-hitter on the Straw Hat crew, somebody who's like a Swiss Army knife. That's clutch, and badass.

Question. Luffy's power also turns him younger and older. All of Bonnie's power seem to be linked to things luffy can do to himself. Bonnie just seems to be able to use it internally and externally. Whereas Luffy's imagination hasn't left him to using it on other people in terms of aging them. However luffy has been using his powers to affect the world externally in the cartoonifying things.

I don't think I really understand how Luffy and Bonney are supposed to be similar. They kinda are but not really. Initially I thought you were referring to Luffy's chibi drawback and Luffy's old man drawback. Like how Bonney can use those abilities offensively.

Yeah, that's what I mean. Luffy sees his turning chibi and old as a drawback of his power while Bonney sees it as a strength and uses it offensively.
Luffy's power mostly affected himself, all his gears, but gear fifth can change the world. Can make things elastic and stretchy that wasn't that way before. Maybe Luffy can cause other people to turn young or old, and has way more powers than we are even aware of, that he is even aware of.
We are just seeing someone else use it that didn't know it's limits. And it makes 100% sense that the fruit Saturn was working on so much was something that encompassed all of Nikka's powers.
Are there more Nikka's that Saturn has created?

Drama aside this might lead to huge developpement about devil fruit and their origin. If we took Vegapunk word at face value that devil fruit came from the dreams and hope of mankind we could go on a rabbit hole where Nika might be the originator of the DF and every DF fruit came from dream and hope of people who at some point in time wanted to be free like Nika to follow their dream.
With time people forget about that and began to seek devil fruit to seek power which could explain slight difference in some awakening like Luffy/yamato (maybe bonney hard to say if it's an awakening or not) have white clouds/flames around them while other like the gorosei or Lucci have black clouds/flames.
We may even go the route where it's not as much Bonney is capable nom to visualize a futre where she's free but also her power resonating with Luffy's power. It's giving her a slight power up.
Which could make sense at some level, we have Teach who thank to the dark-dark fruit can stop devil fruit user power to work. It would be logical to assume that someone have a fruit with opposite abilities, giving power to a devil fruit user.
There is also a potential slight hint of Luffy future power level, when he gear up on the ship everything started to bounce even the ocean. I wonder if at the end of the story Luffy might be so free that even the curse of the sea won't affect him as much.
I'm more and more inclined to think that Oda might have misslead us again about devil fruit, maybe at first they were dream fruit but as some user where so powerfull that they began to affect the world they were deemed a menace giving they the name of devil..
Oda is a real psychopath, we've got Dream, Devil, Dawn, D mention so many time during the last two arc and we're still like wth is the D...

It does make sense her devil fruit seems to work off inspiration. Why her fruit deals with age? Her necessity to grow up and fend for herself requires being mature/adult. She only ever practiced how to age/youngify enemies or herself. Now she understanding her powers are what she wants them to be. I mean even if Bonnie can use Haki, to my knowledge we haven’t ever seen her use it, so she definitely can’t use gear 5 as effectively as Luffy can. We also saw her will basically break earlier in the arc before Luffy came in as Nika to save the day, so I think she doesn’t quite have the iron will that Luffy does, and as such could never be as strong as he is. Remember that Kaido said that at the end of the day, Haki is the real decisive factor among top tiers, so I don’t think this is too big of a deal in terms of power scaling

Bonnika isnt what we wanted(speak for myself lol) but its was needed for her and kuma's character arc and the fact that most ppl saw this coming shows that the community is familiar with oda's game, even tho it was jarring for some ppl will warm up to it just like how gear 5 was controversial in the manga but ppl are loving it in the anime, this moment will be epic when it gets animated
Bro even if we all predicted it a while ago, or if Oda set it up earlier it doesn't matter because its still taking away from the main character. Luffy's awakening was supposed to be this huge deal that Joyboy prophecised and Roger was waiting for. This was all undermined and diminished by Bonney who's character is just a female Luffy, and her development is only good because of Kuma. Hopefully this isn't too big of a deal and we never see Bonney do it again.
Devil fruits are easier to advance than haki . Much more ppl awaken their DF than the number of ppl who reach top tier levels of haki. Usually haki masters are older , ppl like kidd and law are perfect examples

Don't get me wrong Gear 5 is my favorite transformation Luffy has but it's overused and used in the most iffy moments(like when Dorry and Brogy ran away towards the ship with Luffy, he used it on Warcury instead of running) but maybe it's just me on this take

Is Bonney being Nika-ish another way of saying Luffy does not actually have the the Nika fruit? If Bonney could achieve it with her fruit, maybe Luffy did it the same with his. He still does, and always has had the rubber fruit. From what we’ve heard, someone who eats a devil fruit, instantly knows what fruit they have. Luffy still is confused when people call him Nika. And its weird that if its a zoan, that the actually zoan transformation is so taxing and had to be awakened first. Honest question, how hard was it confirmed that Luffy has the Nika fruit? I dont remember? And if its what the gorosei said, their confusion and uncertainty was also a red flag

Tbh Bonney has wonder twin powers. “Give me a future, where I’m free” and luffy just said this form is when im most free. So free=joyboy. So her power just mimicked that command.

The only thing I'm disappointed by is that I wish she would have gotten the Nika form after joining the Straw Hats and becoming Luffy's apprentice. She is limited with like a one shot skill before transforming back plus not able to use Haki so honestly Oda is still doing a good job overall

She was already a good character, with an interesting background, especially with everything we found out, with Kuma.
Giving her Nika powers (in my opinion) completely lowers the specialty of Nika and some of the history, meaning, as far as we know there is only one warrior of liberation, saving people and bring them joy, nothing in the one piece lore tells us there are 2 Nika.
Thinking Oda didn't think this one thru and threw some lame as, new, culturally appropriate, BS at us.

So I have a theory....bonney never "ate" a devil fruit....if bonney inherits kuma devil fruit she will be the 2nd pirate to have 2 devil fruit abilities.. she can spread nika around with both abilities
Bonney drank an extract from a devil fruit. I think it works the same either way. In Ace short story, both Ace and Duece ate pieces of the same devil fruit but Ace got the power because he ate first. This supports the theory that devil fruit powers are not confined to the one area or to the whole fruit. When someone eats it, all of the power is transferred to that person, the other pieces do not matter. If someone was to crush the fruit into a juice, they only need to take a sip. The rules of devil fruits should still apply. Even if Blackbeard is a cyborg or has Whitebeards genes integrated into his DNA, it does not explain how his body can tolerate two devil fruit powers.
