@@Jeff_Kleinthe cost is really rather immaterial as hardly anyone apart from extra special customers will ever get on the waiting list let alone an actual build allocation!
Yes I’m getting a bit fed up with Porsche launching model after model (GT4RS, GT3RS now Sport Classic) of great cars that are only offered to select clients and never actually go on general sale. The rest of us are then expected to pay those select clients double what they paid to get one on the used market. It’s a ridiculous money go round.
I couldn't agree with you more about saving $100k with the gts. The problem is this sport classic can double your money down the road vs the gts depreciating. If you can afford the extra $100k you might even double that later
Love the interior of that car. Reminds me of a cafe I use to frequent in my youth. Orange plastic seats, wood effect Formica table tops and black and white table cloth. Lovely stuff.
I absolutely adore that interior, such a breath of fresh air when compared to other modern cars. That spec with a dark green exterior, like british racing green, must be just heavenly. Since this is a homage to the classic Porsches, I do believe the NA 4.0L engine from the GT3 would be "purer" and more fitting for the Sport Classic, and also because it just sounds terrific.
I fully agree regarding the interior and a dark green exterior. Went ahead and ordered a Turbo S in dark olive metallic with the same Heritage Design interior as in this video.
I recently turned 1k miles on my new 911SC and love driving it…Ive had a lot of Porsches but this one is special 🤩…I also have ‘22 GT3…if I had to pick one for all types of roads and conditions it’s the 911SC…just a wonderful Porsche!

Obviously I spent a while looking and admiring. And only when I was sated did I notice that RIGHT NEXT TO IT was a GT3 Touring!! Didn't even see it. Lotto win list updated...!
Fantastic, the oldskool interior really elevates it and shadow decals and ducktail are lovely. Harry, I agree about the wheels. They were fun in 2011 with the 50th but are tired now.
@@atom999 I'm with you on that one. Far too much going on with all the different materials and colours. Any designer worth their salt will tell you "less is more"

The green dials, the upholstery materials and the wood mimics the 1965 911. The wheels do mimic the New Beetle. I would have never guessed they were going for the Fuchs look, had you not mentioned it. 997 SC's wheels were perfect.
First time I heard about this car and listened to the option list I think it became my favorite Porsche ever, not that I'll ever own one. It's the idea of that engine mated to a manual and the interior is stunning. It looks the part as well, understated luxury and performance. Thank you for showing us around one, I really love your reviews.
Being turbocharged, it's probably a better grand touring car than a GT3 Touring. It'll be more relaxing to drive at high speeds, makes passing easier, a more relaxed exhaust note, a softer ride, etc. The problem is once you reach a fun bit of road, you want that naturally aspirated response and high revving 4.0L. OH, and it's the Pirelli tires that do indeed help with cabin noise.
I'm not convinced that Pirellis are that much quieter tbh, Turbo generally is quieter than other 992s. Probably worth checking out rennlist for comparison between tires.
something like a GTS or 4S with glass sunroof would make for an amazing GT car as vell vs a GT3 Touring. Sadly the UA-cam generation is only concerned about how loud engines sound, they don't account for the ride quality or actual comfort.

Great review. I have a 20 year old 911 Carrera 2 which is always a joy to drive and a thoroughly brilliant car. Even though the 992 is bigger and heavier I’m blown away by Porsches ability to still make it a fantastic drive.
The 991/2 despite being much wider and having a much more safety/ electric wiring etc are also not much that much heavier spec for spec which is amazing.

Interesting to see, but I much prefer pretty much everything about your 1989 car. Though as far as new cars go, I will admit that they did a rather nice job with the interior of this Sport Classic.
Another excellent video from Harry, not forgetting his helper behind the camera of course.👍 As for the car, the 911 has never pushed my buttons in any of it's variants so if I had £200k+ to spend on a Sport/GT coupe to actually use it certainly wouldn't go on this. To squirrel away as an investment, maybe. Obviously very well put together though.
Interesting to hear that you prefer the GTS exhaust note. At least through your videos, the SC seems to have a more exotic note that you can generally only get from very expensive cars. The GTS certainly sounds good, but it doesn’t sound unique to 911 or other high end super cars.

The sport classic look is a special car and I agree if you have the budget it is a great Porsche. I agree for the money the GTS is 90% of this one but you can get one and save 100K. Your reviews are spot on and I appreciate your experience.
#mikebrashears, yup Harry gave away the clues about which 911 to buy. The "992GTS does 80-90% of what the Classic does." So, just to spent 100,000 grand more to gain 10-20% of what the Sports Classic can do, seems absurd.
Thanks Harry for another great video in the real world , I like the look of this sports classic , i do wish it wasnt turbo though but then i guess it would be too close to a gt3 / touring , It will be interesting to see what the Porsche ST model is going to be like when that comes out , There just seems to be too many different versions , would be better if they streamlined the range a bit i think
Spot on regar ding the comment on the quality of UK roads these days. I saw your farmer friend’s latest drive from Poland to Slovenia last week and was impressed by the wonderful roads throughout Central Europe; I failed to see a pothole. Here we need not only the softer suspension button but, can I also suggest that, all UK spec cars should come with a spare wheel of some description and tyre change kit and not those silly inflator kits. I have spent too much time on the side of the road recently, post altercations with potholes, waiting to be recovered as the mobile tyre guys cannot provide you with tyre brands and sizes fitted to performance cars.
Regarding this video, 1) Its a great looking car 2) The interior is stunning 3) Why do manufacture's put in those rear seats? They are of no use to anyone, why not use that area of space more usefully? Great video as always ❤
All manufacturers are now playing the same game of limited editions. As a result we have an unlimited number of limited series. Even for clients with no financing, at one stage the opportunity cost of having cash locked in a car will register. The break even will become higher and higher and with no longer free money, not sure who will pay big premium. Not specific to Porsche obviously. Wonderful interior on this one, love it
A real beauty and I saw one of these in light blue in a Munich dealership last month and it looked great -- way better than the yellow GT3 RS sitting not far from it. ...like Harry mentioned, this is the best looking 992 because that stupid spoiler on the non-"Turbo"s (and the GT3 touring..!) that lifts up and ruins all the nice lines on the rear. This Classic has everything desirable on this generation 911. Yes please!
100% agree with you this Porsche is great looking inside and out apart from the wheels . If it was ten times cheaper i still could not afford one , but love your reviews.
Lovely lovely car. Depreciation proof 911 with all the right stuff for me (yes those wheels and interior is gorgeous) and less shouty. I would try and imagine it in a better colour though, grey somewhat robs it of grace on the road for me.
This brings back memories. In 1985, At 13, when I would wait for my monthly car magazine, I would analyse the 0-60 figures of the Porsche range. At that tender age, I thought….if you spend x grand, you get 0.1 less, 0-60. Porsche are, the masters of differentiation in marketing. Even down to PDM. Passenger Door Mirror 😂
Interesting about the road noise. Just back from tour of France/Switzerland/Italy run a TTS with Conti 6's. The car is deafeningly loud with road 'roar' in the UK. On the French peage it is significantly quieter. On most of the Italian roads much quieter. So, it seems to me that there is some issue between UK road construction and surface finish compared to Europe which is, of course, where the tyres are designed and engineered.
Im lucky to live close to a Porsche dealer and never tire at seeing the 911, in all its flavours and colours. Its timeless and still outperforms the competition.
Bumpy road mode is a feature of the Magnaride technology developed by General Motors and employed to great affect in Ferrari’s, Corvettes and Cadillacs, as well as Shelby Mustangs. The only other company that employs a technology that allows for such amazing handling performance with exceptional ride quality is the hydraulic system used in the super sports Mclaren
The reason for it being less noisy is probably because its fitted with the lightweight and noise insulated glass option? (makes a significant difference in the base model)
Very attractive spec, especially the interior. It would have been nice to see perhaps a wooden gear knob as a nod to the Carrera GT, but then maybe that's better as a one-off...
