  • In a spectacular display of Newari cultural dance, the Bagbazar Bagar Tayamacha Committee clinched the title in the men's category at the Tayamacha Dance Competition held on Saturday in Pokhara. Outshining 18 other teams, Bagbazar secured the first place and took home a cash prize of NPR 301,000.
    Ranipauwa Tayamacha Naach Committee claimed 1st Runner Up in the men's category with a prize of NPR 201,000, while Gopala Ji Mandir Sewa Samiti from Ramkrishna Tole secured third place with NPR 101,000.
    In the women's category, Lamachaur Newa Khala emerged victorious, surpassing eight other groups and winning NPR 50,000.While Samaj Kalyan Newa Khala from Rajakochauthara took second place with NPR 30,000, and Rupa Deurali Newa Khala from Rupa Gaunpalika placed third with NPR 20,000.
    The competition, organized by Newa Khala Kaski in collaboration with Naya Bazar Cultural Committee, was held in celebration of the Gai Jatra festival. The event featured a total of 28 teams-19 in the men's category and 9 in the women's category-competing for the prestigious title.
