In this vibrant event, the Bagbazar Bagar Tayamacha Committee claimed victory in the men's category, while the Lamachaur Newa Khala triumphed among the women. Held in Naya Bazar, this competition saw participation from 28 enthusiastic teams, showcasing the deep-rooted traditions of the Newar community.
    The Bagbazar Bagar Tayamacha Committee won NPR 301,000, and the Lamachaur Newa Khala took home NPR 5,000. Other notable winners included Ranipauwa Tayamacha Nach Committee, Gopal Ji Mandir Sewa Samiti, and Gaighatpatten Newa Samaj.
    Organized annually by the Newa Khala Kaski, this competition aims to preserve and promote the ancient Tayamacha dance, a significant part of the Gaijatra festival, honoring family members who passed away in the previous year. This cultural event not only celebrates Newar traditions but also encourages the younger generation to appreciate and uphold their cultural heritage.
