My brother used to sing the chorus of this when playing the record and he'd crack up when he'd whisper the "JEALOUS!" along and we'd both laugh so hard we'd cry. I miss him so much. They say time heals all wounds; and for me, that's a lie. I miss my brother today, 26 years later, as much as the day he died.

By the time this song came out, Jane’s were already releasing singles from their second album, which came out immediately after this song, and they broke up after touring that album.

I absolutely loved this song when I first heard it in 1990 (1991?). Still love it too. But I've long wondered why these guys never became more well-known and just seemed to fade into the sunset. Disappointing🙁

I saw these guys way back in the day ( 89' or 90' ) at Universal amphitheater @ universal studios in California ! Such a GREAT show ! I heard they are playing Tomorrow night ( June 21st 2024) @ the House of Blues in Anaheim , CA !

I have remember when this song was out and liked it but it was a bit of a minor hit. After listening to it again after not hearing it in 30+ years and being older and wiser about music it’s hard to believe that this song wasn’t a massive hit. I can’t believe it wasn’t huge.

I had just graduated a couple of months earlier. The next school year, 1990-91, was when music started to majorly change. By the next summer, those frat boys just loved themselves some Metallica with the 'Black' album, & the new batch of impressionable young'uns started emulating everything they watched on Boyz n da hood... or saw on the new 'Smells like Nerdvana' video, etc etc, blah blah blah...

I WANT A PICK FROM JAY. I actually have never, ever heard of Michael Aston playing guitar. Only Jay Aston, and I have been a fan since I was 14 or 15. I am now 51. Are you sure it wasn't Jay? Maybe Michael has learned guitar. I am happy for you.
@@LH3plus2 After leaving GLJ, Michael went to the wood shed & learned how to play guitar. He's actually pretty decent, better than Jay was. Jay's gotten much better in the last 10 years or so we'll enuff to play solo acoustic shows.
@@andresflores1500 Well, I know Jay has always played guitar but plays outstanding now. As for Michael, I have an appreciation for both of them creating one of the best bands ever. I have nothing against Michael. I just favor Jay. I have never met them. Even though they will always be brothers, they have separate bands. I try to find something positive in everything ( not including all my c.d.'s). I know with my SEVERAL sets of twin and triplet relatives, they don't mind being called the twins. ( I don't) unless they are back east and I don't know them. But in the world of being famous I heard that most twins loathe being known as "the twins" other than Greta Van Fleet. I was going to say NEVER wanting to offend the ASTON'S but they are the best looking guy set and the Veronicas are the best looking girl set. Lisa and Jessica went through a big split for years and buried the hatchet and came back with a vengeance. I learned of them from my kids. My kids and Grandkids learned about Gene loves Jezebel from me! I wish all my favorite bands peace and good health and fortune during these hard times. Best of wishes to you. That is cool Michael learned guitar. It is hard to play. I am the only one in my family that can't play. I was just listening to Jay's Gene loves Jezebel as I get ready for Easter. 🐣🐇🌷🌼🌸🐑

I used to at the dumb guitar hook and silly, childish lyrics. The vocal has some charisma at times, the song's saving grace.
