Michael thanks for breaking this down bruh, I did exactly what u did and shoukd not have...took it and waited too long, then failed in my case. Wish I had this info ahead of time. This was super helpful thank you! Especially the note on how much you scored on the PMI study hall test and still had at AT on all sections! Awesome stuff!
First, congrats! Second, appreciate the openness about the scoring on the practice tests. I'm hitting 75% now on mine, and I'm feeling much better with the test in a week. Be well.
Thank you for the congrats. If you are hitting 75% you are in a strong position to take the exam. I'm glad the video helped a bit. Best of luck with the exam!
@@themichaelglaspie it was definitely on par with the practice questions. But since I was familiar it was easier to handle. 121hrs of study and 1,200 practice questions completed to get there.

Yea it was a relief when I passed for sure. Keep taking the study hall exams and diving into the "why" the questions are wrong. If you get an 80% on those I'm confident you will crush the real exam. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the kind words. I’m glad you found the video to be helpful. As far as the website to take the exam, my suggestion is to go onto PMI website to submit your application. Once approved they will then give you the opportunity to schedule the exam on the PMI website. You can choose an in person exam, or a virtual proctored exam. I chose the virtual proctored exam. This was given on a software app that you will be required to download prior to taking the exam. I am not sure if there are other ways to take the exam, but this is a sure way to take the right exam. Did that help answer that question? If not let me know
I personally take notes on topics that I feel I need to dive into more. So if something is hard to grasp I’ll write it down then research it further. Beyond that, I don’t take too many notes personally
Thanks Michael! How has everything been going for you now with the PMP certification? Did it help with getting a higher salary? How are things going for you?
The PMP did help me get a higher position in a small company. At the end of the day I just went back to starting my own company again. For me now, the benefit came in the knowledge of it. I run my business with the PM concepts. I’ve enjoyed it
I'm not 100% sure of what you do. However, Agile is simply small batched phases that work well across most industries. Made popular for projects with high uncertainty. If you have experience in process management or development, then you are doing a form of Agile PM already. You just need to learn how to articulate it. This style is meant to improve processes that you have been doing already.
Thanks for checking it out. Short answer, NO. I did not read the entire book. Most of the book I found to be "fluff". Not saying the book is not valuable, but there are better summaries of the material. I only read full portions on the items I had questions/concerns with.
Have you started maintaining your PMP yet with PDU courses etc? Also, do you know of the AACE Certified Cost Technician/Professional Certifications and would you sit that exam as well?
I’m late on this response!! So I am just now looking into my PDU. I let it slip by me up to this point. I’ve heard of the certified cost technician and for me personally it would be a necessary fit for where I’m trying to go. I’m a big believer of certifications and training that all stack up to help you achieve your dream outcome. So for me, the PMP, my MBA, and the CMA (certified managerial accountant) will help me to get into more financial leadership positions
Not directly from PMI. My foundation course was done through Syracuse University with the help of the military. It was a requirement for me there. The foundations wouldn’t hurt though
I'm glad this was helpful. The Study Hall is the best one I can recommend because it was created by PMI specifically for this exam. Others can be good, but don't have the oversight of PMI when creating them. There are a few apps I used as well. 1) PMP Pocket Prep, 2) PMP Exam 2023: 100% Pass Rate and 3) PMP Exam Mentor. You can find them all in the Apple App Store. They are ok, but I mixed those in with Study Hall.
@@themichaelglaspie thanks for your response. Did you do Study Hall Essentials or Plus? Also, do you believe your PMP helps you in Real Estate and owning a business? (This is my goal as well.)
@@elevatedlife3884 I just did the essentials. More than enough information there. Yes, I do think this helps as a business owner. I did project management quite a bit in my life, but this was before I realized the importance of it as a business owner. Everything we do as business owners is project based. So, knowing how the project model breaksdown and how each piece helps build on the next gave me a better appreciation and understanding for my teams.

Hi, I have a question. If I score below the passing mark of 80% in my mock exams, should I not take the PMP exam? So far, I've scored 55%. Should I wait to achieve 80% in mock exams before attempting the PMP exam?
Hi Mentor, I am getting 60% (average) on Study Hall exams and I have exam scheduled next week. Any suggestions? Appreciate your quick response and suggestions.
I am sorry I couldn't respond prior to your exam! How did it go? With the 60% average I would have suggested finding the core material you struggled with the most and focus there.
@@themichaelglaspie hi, was the PMI Study hall practise exam (consisting of 15 question) are a good to practise? then going to the final full 4 hour mock questions are good to go best tool you reckon?
Great question. So, I felt really strong about the concepts even though I scored low. So I went for it. The recommendation is that you score an 80 or more before you test. So in my opinion, unless you feel really strong about the concepts, I would say try to get closer to an 80.

Great question. It’s always recommended to get 80% or more to have the best chance of passing. I would agree with that. If you feel strong about the concepts and have a great handle on the logical steps, then MAYBE you could test. I would caution you to just be prepared to retest.
For those who have recently passed the exam great job. Is there any other advice you would add to aspiring PMP candidates preparing for the test?
