I am stunned by how similar their early marriage before healing was to my 14 yr marriage to my first husband. Unfortunately he also had a problem with faithfulness which continues to this day and is on marriage #4 and has no relationship with our grown sons. I had a second failed marriage 7 yrs ago and am not interested in pursuing a relationship until I can get to the bottom of my own issues. I tend to attract men that need emotional fixing and they thrive off what appears to be strength but in all actuality is a dysfunctional independence that was imposed on me by being brought up in a chaotic home. Bottom line is that I believe this couple has so much to offer not only married couples but divorced people that need to heal as well. Thank you for airing this on the radio. I usually listen to a local christian radio station but happened to tune in during my long morning commute and could not turn the channel!

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

My preferred love style is solitude, I love Peace, Quiet and Freedom. my life's mistake was marriage to anyone.

All these technical terms makes working on your relationship feel very robotic. Paul said, Love your wife as Christ loved the church...that’s pretty powerful. Pray and ask God to show you how to love your wife. Ask Him for a deeper and more true love for her. Paul said for wives to respect their husbands. Wives should pray and ask God to show them how to respect their husband. They should pray for a more respectful heart and attitude toward their husband. That would be a great place to start. Most of our issues are because we’re selfish (I’m referring to myself here as the exhibit A). Also, lean on Christ to supply all your needs. He understands your need for love and respect and gives it unconditionally.
I’m not saying that we don’t need help and guidance with these issues but as for me, I want someone to speak “down to earth” language with me instead of some foreign language I’ve never heard before. I guess that’s just me.

I cringe at the hosts laughing when they role played the pleaser and vacillator. This is an abusive combination 😢 it’s not funny at all.

It’s probably because they identify their own patterns in their relationships…or relationships they’ve counseled with…not meant to be disrespectful…
