Cool video, some extra info from someone who works at one of these factories.. the 'oven' is called a Kiln and the collection of tubes at the end of the kiln is called a Planetary Cooler, be careful if you ever enter a kiln again because the coating inside does fall off, very dangerous. also wear a mask as there's some nasty stuff inside some of those places (chromates etc)

    • @wigglewiggle3789

Not to mention the cement dust can cause silicosis. Damn nasty.

Thanks. Wantet to write that, too. I work in refractory furnice construction Business wich is building the „coating“ inside these kilns. Sad to see that HC complex abandoned. I often work for this group in germany.

Does the entire kiln rotate?! At 9:48 after they exited the planetary cooler it looked like a big gearbox/rolling assembly in the bottom left of the frame. The kiln was sitting on a big round wheel?

Great episode, really, I am really impressed. Having worked as a Lab and QC manager of a cement plant as big as this one, I can tell this is an amazing experience. Breathtaking how much matter is being processed in so many linear steps, all VERY dangerous. NEVER go into a killn, where the refractory bricks (heavy!!) and incrustations may fall on you VERY easily.

Impressive and beautiful! I hope vandals and scrappers don't get in there and destroy and steal everything. You and The Proper People are my favourite urbexers. Great camera work, music, and mood in your videos. And always exactly the right amount of background information about the places you explore. 💗 I looove the bold move to follow the security van with the drone. 😂 And this window is awesome! Like a crashed spaceship that has flown thousands of lightyears over decades but was abandon by its crew now that it became useless to them. Where did they go? Maybe they have split up and had gone on a search for a new meaning of their lifes on an planet that must be become foreign to them after all this time in space at a relativistic speed...
Oh yeah. I like that thought a lot. Maybe you can say that about many abandon industrial sites but I think it fits really well here with all the half processed cement and dust of it lying around (Was it the remnants of fuel or did they mine for some precious material?) or maybe because it was abandon so recently. Nevertheless thank you for that awesome video.
