I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW SMALL YOUR LIST WAS!! AND ALL THE MOVING BOOKS!! LOL ACOMAF IS SURELY ON TOP OF MY LIST THIS YEAR!
this year I read all the TMI and TID books, as long as Lady Midnight, Throne of Glass, the first 4 Harry Potter books, Illuminae, Fangirl, the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy, Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, An Ember in the Ashes, the Shatter Me trilogy and ACOTAR and ACOMAF, so yeah, it was a really good year
I read most of those books this year too😂
I read virtually all those too!
Lma-
This year I finally read all of Cassandra Clare's books and they're all my favorites.
Dan K. same :)
Dan K. I also did that.
this year i finally bought tid and tmi FOR MYSELF
it was a good day.
i bought tmi twice because i needed matching covers
I hope that I will read the shadowhunter books in 2017, but it is kinda hard to find them here in greece. Should I read TMI or TID first?
I would read them in publication order -thanasisk -
I seriously can't wait for the third ACOTAR book

Empire of Storms was my absolute favorite book that I've read this year. ACOMAF, Hammer of Thor, and Lady Midnight are following very close behind though.
I love how the books keeping moving around according to your hands! XD A court of mist and fury and lady midnight were also my absolute favs~ UGH everything everything, so.many.tears.

ACOMAF IS THE BEST 2016 BOOK EVERRRRR
when she was on the last book I was like "don't you dare say anything but ACOMAF, don't you say anything but ACOMA- YAYYYYY YOU SAID ACOMAF
Megan Cress I know that was my exact thought!!
Gemina, Lady Midnight, and ACOMAF will definitely be on my favorite books list too!
Favorite Read of the Year: QUEEN OF SHADOWS by Sarah J. Maas
Favorite Read of the Year (that came out this year): A COURT OF MIST AND FURY by Sarah J. Maas
All hail to Queen Sarah.
First off, Christine, loved the intro. Very nice. And I'm kinda with you on the book thing. 2016, I read a good number of books. Some were alright, a lot were good, but I consider a small fraction my favorites.
For me, fav books of 2016:
A Court of Mist and Fury. I loved the first one, but the second one KNOCKED IT out of the park.
Six of Crows + Crooked Kingdom duology. It was so fucking good. I loved it so much.
Carry On. Read it last year and loved it. Read it this year and remembered why I loved it so much.
Assasin's Blade, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, and Empire of Storms. This year was a huge Throne of glass catch-up. And my love for the Throne of Glass series increased with each book.
An Ember in the Ashes
The Wrath & the Dawn + The Rose and the Dagger duology. Insanely good duo
And I Darken. A surprising read I ended up loving more than I thought I would.
The Captive Prince trilogy. It got better and better with each book.
I'm surprised Christine you didn't mention Empire of Storms or A Torch in the Night
it might just be me but there's "it ends with us" by colleen hoover in the thumbnail but not in the video or description?
Can't have all the actual picks in the thumbnail - spoilerz =P
but the book wasn't in the video as well :O
oh ok never mind I get it :D
i haven't read it yet!!! i'm so excited to get to it!
polandbananasBOOKS Hey have you read The Falling Kingdom series coz they r soooooo good! like you are like, I know that character is the main character so pshhh he ain't gonna die and then boom! Dead! 😱😱 But seriously they r amazing books!
Everyone's been going on and on and on about A Court of Mist and Fury and I'm here and I haven't even read the first book. Maybe it's time...
It's always time for Sarah J Maas's books
Eda D the first book is not as good as the second book but just hang on until the second because it is AMAZING
Christine, read the Captive Prince Trilogy, the first book is hard to stomach, but if you get through it is so amazing and the characters are so WELL WRITTEN. Those books, The Song of Achilles and Acomaf are like my top ever books. Also the Unwind dystopian stories - you must read!
And I must read Lady Midnight and Shadowhunter Academy!!
I really have to thank you for mentioning The Sun is Also a Star in one of your book hauls. I feel like it's one of those books that have, and will continue to genuinely impact me.
The characters' situations definitely hit home. I've never understood a pair of characters in this way before. So many of my scattered emotions and experiences have been perfectly condensed into sentences. It unearthed memories that I thought had long been lost. I really needed to read this.
I'm so thankful for the sequence of decisions that had to be made in order for me to pick up this book.
Once again, thank you.
THAT EDITING CHRISTINE! Cue applause
I've read 62 books this year (so far). Only 7 were favorites. 4 of those 7 were the Lunar Chronicles. The other 3 are Heartless, The Silence of Murder, and Dreamlander.
Jojo Aljarallah After reading the Grisha Trilogy and not really enjoying it, I've been hesitant to. But I hear they're better so I plan on reading Six of Crows in January.
Crooked Kingdom was my favorite book of the year (along with Lunar Chronicles, which I only got to this year, and Heartless). You won't regret reading them they are FANTASTIC!
I was half way through the 1st book of lunar chronicles it was soo boring idk maybe I'm just not into future technology based books..
sci-fi isn't for everyone. although for some it's just very different - was for me. sometimes you have to try several books in a genre to find one you enjoy. But if you like fantasy at all then I def recommend Dreamlander.
I loved this video one question though why didn't Empire of Storms make the cut?
Ester Schneider She already mentioned the books from the ToG series on her previous Favorite Books videos. It's also in the thumbnail.
some books I lived this year:
-Wolf by wolf (Ryan Graudin)
-The raven cycle (Maggie Stiefvater)
-ACOTAR and ACOMAF (sarah J maas
-heir of fire (Sarah J. Maas)
-uprooted (Naomi Novik)
-six of crows and crooked kingdom (Leigh Bardugo)
-the fifth wave trilogy (mainly the first and second book (Rick Yancey)
can't wait for a court of wings and ruin. it is preordered!!!
Acomaf is one of my fave reads this year too. I also read Mistborn and The Well of Ascension this year, so I loved them the most. This Savage Song and And I Darken are some of my YA faves this year too. I can't decide. I loved a lot of books.
I so agreed with you about Lady Midnight.
It was good to see Cassie continuing The Shadowhunters Chronicles.
I really enjoyed Emma as a characters and I can't wait to see what going to happen next in "The Lord Of Shadows"
I love the world Cassie created and the only books I need is The Bane Chronicles and Tales From The Shadowhunter Academy,Hope that they're good.
I'm also ready for Shadowhunter Season 2 ;)
I don't think I've ever seen a girl with so much energy 😁. Another great vid. Have a merry Xmas Christine
But, I can't stand shadow hunters lol I think I've just made plenty of enemies on this by saying that 😂😂😂
smiley smileson what why? the books are really good. the mortal instruments was a bit boring but cassie's writing is soo good
I just found the whole (lovelorn-lust) to be repetitive and boring after the first book. I guess it's just my different taste in narratives 😁
smiley smileson yeah Its not everyone's thing, same with how I hate sci-fi books just because I can't picture all the technical things e.g the lunar chronicles haha. A good series is Noughts and crosses its really mature like no love triangle/cliche bullshit. give it ago if you haven't already :)
I'm proud to say that I have 3 out of the books mentioned this time around. Also. I loved your breakout into Shania Twain!
I can't believe this is the third favourites of the year video I've been around for already!
Your videos always make me so happy Christine!!! Favorite reads of the year: ACOMAF by Sarah J. Maas, Carry ON by Rainbow Rowell, Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare, Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover, Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur and Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi !
'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' was on the cover art. But not in this actual video...
i like to keep things mysterious =)
***** Well thank you for commenting Christine!
polandbananasBOOKS the book of HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD made me want to die because of ALBUS
shining sky What about Albus?
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them I just did not like the way he acted....he made me very frustrated.
Christine you should read the "Gregor the overlander" books. Susanne Collins wrote them and there really good. You should also read the pendragon books.
I've read 78 books this year. My favorites include...
Sarah J Maas's Books
The Lunar Chronicles
Heartless
All the Bright Places
Salt to the Sea
*-*
I still have two weeks of reading left, and those books I'll be reading in that time frame...
-Passenger
-The Grisha Trilogy
-Six of Crows Duology
-Everything, Everything
-The Sun is Also a Star
-Eleanor & Park
*-*
Pretty sure that most of those will end up being my favorites so yeah.
My favourite books that I read this year were The Song of Achilles, Lady Midnight, The Trials of Apollo, The Nightingale, All the Light We Cannot See, A Tale of Two Cities and Brain on Fire.
I had a really good reading year this year, a few five star books, lots of four star books and hardly any 1 or 2 star books!
Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo are my favorite reads of 2016!
I adored The Sun Is Also A Star so much *gives Christine a huge round of applause for choosing TSIAAS*
why is your editing so on point my goodness, I'm only 30 seconds in and I'm shook
I don't usually leave comments but I just wanna say that your videos are so entertaining to watch. The sound/visual effects make a world of a difference!
I started the Harry Potter series, and the Throne of Glass series this year, so those 2 are definitely my all time favorites of this year.
Other than that my favorites were:
- The Thousandth Floor
- To All the Boys I've Loved Before (and the 2nd one)
- An Ember In The Ashes
- Lady Midnight
- ACOTAR and ACOMAF
I am so late for these series, but I read the TMI series and TIF series by Cassandra Clare!!!! My fave!!!! I read the 2 series intertwined and it was amazing!!!!!! She is so amazing at wrapping up the series and now I'm reading lady midnight!!!! I'm soooo excited!! Like I literally finished City of Heavenly Fire last night so I just started Lady Midnight
My favorite books of 2016: We Are The Ants by Shaun David Hutchinson, Vicious by V.E Schwab, The Dark Artificies: Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare, Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo, A Court of Mist And Fury by Sarah J. Maas, This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab, and Magnus Chase Book 2: The Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan
YESS. Your number one book was my number one book. Love it so so so much. Also, the editing in this video is really great
ACOMAF was my favorite this year too! I'm gonna give Lady Midnight a try now, thanks Christine!!!
I don't know if it's because I'm in a huge reading slump or if it's just that the characters aren't grabbing my attention as much but I cannot seem to get through Lady Midnight. I freaking love the Shadowhunter stories, I have all of the Infernal Devices and Mortal Instruments series plus the Bane Chronicles, but for some reason, I am stuck roughly halfway through Lady Midnight. I want to like this book!
Me too! I'm just half way through and I haven't touched it since March
YUP LADY MIDNIGHT AND TALES FROM THE SHADOWHUNTER ACADEMY WAS ALSO IN MY FAVORITE BOOKS OF 2016 VIDEO..lmao i feel like cassie's new books are always going to be in my favorites list.. i really need to get a court of mist & fury, cause i enjoyed ACOTAR a lot..
i am about to finish the court of thorns and roses book and i absolutely love it and i am sure to love the rest of the series!
OMG i only just started reading ACOTAR on Monday and now I'm up to the final book!!! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT IT HAS IN STORE FOR ME!!!
Lady Midnight, ACOMAF and Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy are also part of my favourites ! I also adored The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller !
I finally read the Infernal Devices books this year, and obviously you know how great those are, and at your suggestion, I read A Shadow Bright and Burning and I reeeeeeaaaaaally loved it. I'm really excited to see where it goes. And, lastly, i read the selection series this year and ya, its freaking awesome
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO FOREVER😭😭😭😭❤❤❤
I have read a lot of books this year, I have a lot of favorites.
Red Queen & Glass Sword
The Infernal Devices Trilogy
Lady Midnight
Me Before You
The Last Star
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children Trilogy
Throne of Glass & Crown of Midnight.
I am currently reading Heir of Fire.
I'd have to say that my #1 favorite book this year was Crown of Midnight!!! (That twist though!)
A Court of Mist and Fury was definitely my favorite book of the year as well :)
If she ever stops making videos i am gonna die X_X
My favorite books this year were Dark Matter by Blake Crouch, Throne of Glass, and The Girls by Emma Cline (my #1 favorite)... I'm really excited to finish the ToG series!
Me too! I've only read 28 books this year because i was in a HUGE reading slump and didn't read anything from March to October, and I only had a few favorites. I hope next year's better for both of us!
my favorites were:
I'll Give You The Sun
Carry On
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
and A Monster Calls.
Great books, just not very many ://///
OMG I totally agree ACOMAF is definitely the book of the year. I loved that book so much that I did what I NEVER do, I finished reading it then picked it right back up and re-read it. I found that I kind of rushed through it the first time because it was full of suspense and the second time I read it I appreciated all the moments soooo much more. Oh, Rhysand you own me lol! Apart from that I really liked It Ends With Us - Coleen Hoover and I also liked The Heir - Kiera Cass just because I was really invested in those characters.
Yo Xtine what happened to the thumbnail where you hold a ton of books for the favorite books video?! ((((;
ALL ME BOOKS ARE IN CALI =P and i'm with the fam right now
Some of my favorite books that I read in 2016 are Black Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick, Battle Royale by Koushun Takami, Game of Thrones by George Martin, Voyager & Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon and Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James.
I love her she's so full of energy😂❤️❤️❤️💖💖💖
My favorite book this year was definitely The Crown's Game by Evelyn Skye! I would agree that I also didn't really have too many favs this year, but maybe next year will be better! 😁
Lady Midnight, Passenger, and A Court of Mist and Furry were my too favorites this year! They were so good!
My two favourite books were The Time Travellers Wife and Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon! You should definitely read Outlander!
One of my favourites this year has to be "And I Darken" by Kiersten White.
Sooooo dark, gritty, and amazing!
I loved ACOMAF so much. Omg all of the feels 😍 And I'm also currently reading The Book Thief, which I will finish before the year is over, so definitely one of those two books
You NEED to read The Foxhole Court by Nora Sakavic. It's absolutely amazing
Rachel Holliday Omg I read that entire series in like a week and I'm completely obsessed with it. Definitely one of my all time fave series now
A Court of Mist And Fury definitely made the top of the list for me. I felt the same way as you about the first book. It was pretty good and it made me want to keep reading the series but it wasn't amazing. Then book 2 was epic and now I cannot wait for the third one next year!!!
I'm gonna be weird and say The Secret Garden was my favorite book that I read this year. Been wanting to read it forever, and I finally found it (in an amazing cover) and it's easily one of my all time faves. I also LOVED The Hidden Oracle. I'm so so excited for the next book👌🏼
I've read a lot of books this year. If I list them all, we'll be here for a while. I really like Everything Everything, the Legend series, and ALL THINGS SHADOWHUNTERS. I also liked this one contemporary called Since You've Been Gone.
I just finished lady midnight and I LOVED IT! OMG it was amazing! I can't wait for the Lord of shadows! I also love all the shadowhunter books from cassandra! especially the TMI
I loved Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom as well as Empire of Storms. I was surprised Empire of Storms wasn't in your favorites. BUT MY FAVORITE OF THE YEAR WAS ALSO ACOMAF!!!! SOOO GOOD
I read so many great books this year. My favorites are Looking for Alaska, The un is also a star, The Magnus Chase books, City of lost souls, city of fallen angels, clockwork princess, me before you, maybe someday and harry potter and the chamber of secrets.
My favorites where ACOMAF (which is number one) , followed by Empire of Storms, A Torch Against the Night, Heartless, Winter, The Covenant series, Lady Midnight, Vampire Academy, and Windwitch and Frozen Tides.
I wouldn't be able to do a faves of 2016 video because I only rated a few books five stars??! wow. what a weird year. Still read some fantasic books! Crooked Kingdom tops the list for sure.
I agree with pretty much all of these! I'm absolutely loving Caraval at the moment and I loved Ready Player One at the start of the year!
Okay, okay! I have some great series to recommend to you! Which I don't think you've read!
The WaterFire saga is a must-read. Seeing the mermaid on the cover of the first book, Deep Blue, you'd probably cast it aside, but don't. The action is nonstop, and the author is excellent at worldbuilding and creating characters that you love.
The Artemis Fowl series is high on my list, probably as amazing to me as the Mortal Instruments and the Lunar Chronicles. The main character is what you would call an anti-hero, and the character development is gradual and beautiful throughout the series. Artemis's father is missing, presumed dead, his mother is losing her sanity in her grief, and Artemis has to manage the family fortune. In an effort to earn more money to continue funding the search for his father, Artemis endeavors to capture a fairy named Holly Short. But he has no idea what he is dealing with. Oh, and Artemis is only twelve.
If you haven't read it already, read the Divergent trilogy. Though Allegiant made me angry, that shouldn't stop you from loving the series. It's great.
The Winner's Curse trilogy is more of a Young Adult series. The worldbuilding is also phenomenal, and the author's writing is so gorgeous and abstract that it's poetry in book form. I love it and the main protagonist, Kestrel, the general's daughter and a girl who must break away from everything she's ever known to love Arin, a slave. Their is a lot of betrayal, shock, and death in this series, so, you know, just a heads up.
The Red Queen series and the Selection series are similar, but different in many ways. Both are about rebelling against an opposing government, or monarchy in this case. Both have a main character who has dug herself out of the trenches and emerged a royal. Though Red Queen is significantly more violent. The Selection is an easy read, and I think if you read each book, it wouldn't take much longer than three days. But the characters are lovable and identifiable, and the humor makes it all worthwhile.
The Zodiac series is plain awesome. Again, a mere Acolyte named Rho Grace becomes the leader of a uprising and a galaxy's only hope. Yes, this author's books create the term galaxybuilding. The series holds several surprises in store and hooks you in at the prologue. Read it!
i love you just because Lady of Midnight is one of your favorite books... I haven't read The academy of shadowhunters because I'm italian and in italy it will come in february, but I'm sure that i will love it
Favourite book I read this year is Fablehaven and the rest of the series it is so FANTASTIC!!! Highly recommend
I love Crooked Kingdom so much!
Definitely my favorite book of the year was A Court of Mist and Fury. My favorite contemporary is It Ends With Us. I had such an amazing year of reading. I ended up finishing The 5th Wave trilogy, I read all 7 (plus Cursed Child) Harry Potter books for the first time, I read the first 3 Mortal Instrument books, I read and loved both Six of Crows and Ember in the Ashes and ugh. Once I finish Queen of Shadows, I will have read 40 books this year! Almost double what I read last year! :D
Six of crows was one of my favorites this year. I'm in the middle of Crooked Kingdom right now :)
I FINALLY READ STEPHANIE PERKINS' BOOKS THIS YEAR AND THEY WERE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC AND FAVS FOREVER
yesssssssssss it's too late here in India - CHRISTINE BOOK CHOICES ARE PERFECT - MERRY CHRISTMAS !!

Love all the books... I need to read all of them.
I have 6 favourites this year... BIG FAVS.
Top ones - Gone girl by Gillian Flynn & The Power by Rhonda Byrne
I LOVE Lady Midnight so much omg. But I have to say that my favourite read of 2016 was Me Before You. It's one of my all time favourite books now!
Honest to God,
I subscribed to you purely because of that intro. I could just tell you were someone I wanted to watch.
Now to watch the rest of the video!
ACOMAF was my favorite book of the year to!!! Close runner ups were Outlander and Lady Midnight!!!

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter

Hiii Christine, although I am not a fan of fantasy books but I still watch all your videos. I am a big fan of yours. I specially love your chirpiness. Do keep making these videos. I think you are very beautiful. In fact after seeing your videos I bought a copy of Luminae and plan to read it through. All the best, regards Kanishka.
I reread all of Harry Potter this year and it's still my favorite. But other new reads I loved:
- Buffering by Hannah Hart
- A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab (it's the second book in the series)
- Hamilton: The Revolution by Lin-Manuel Miranda
- You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero
Looking back over my Goodreads, I didn't actually read that much fiction this year... I also just didn't read as much as normal being back in school. :| Half of my read shelf is textbooks. xD
My favourite book of 2016 is definitely The Midnight Star! I loved that book so much
I can't believe Harry Potter and the Cursed Child didn't make it on your list. My absolute favourite along with lady midnight and the winners kiss
I have a lot of emotions, but they don't come out easily. So when you are able make me so excited and pumped with your energy and humor, it's really nice. Thank you for that ^_^
On a more relevant note, I really need to get around to reading Illuminae...
ACOMAF was soooo good! It was definitely my favorite of this year too!!!! (Although I loved Lady Midnight and Empire of Storms this year as well)
