What I have found helpful is watch this with my study book open, find other examples of UA-cam videos, read the example in my book, and then go to your lecture once I’m done with the section. Seems to be providing a great study regiment.
Hi Dean! Fellow Las Vegas resident here. Just wanted to thank you for all your videos but especially these explications. My test was this morning and a practice test I took over the weekend with Kaplan was a 61 so I was freaking out!! I did reread the text and flashcards and found your explication videos literally last night and they were so so helpful to top off my knowledge and focus what I needed to know for the test and I passed first try! Shame I didn't know about you sooner but will definitely be using your info for supplelementing my 7 as well. Thanks again!!

Hey Dean, love the videos and been watching for over a week. Struggled on capital markets and did not pass today. Alot of GO Bond questions and unfortunately not many questions on topics I expected more questions on (DERP, Calls and Puts, breakeven). I love your content and will continue to study, any tips?
Damn. That hurts. Do debrief with yourself using the content outline. Plus next to items you feel good about and minus next to things you need to work on. Then take a few days to refresh and reset

Great information. Thanks a lot. Quick question, regarding the T+2 vs T+1 for the settlement date, another of your video mentioned it as opposite. So should T+2 for government related securities or it is for corp securities? Thanks a bunch.

Bullish means you think something will go up in price. Bulls attack horns up. Bearish means you think something will go down in price. Bears attacks paws down.
For SIE if you are bullish you buy stock (buy the stock low and sell the high) and if you are bearish you sell the stock stock short (sell the stock high and buy the stock low).
There are only two positions at a brokerage firm. They are long positions which are created by doing an opening purchase. The other are short positions which are created by doing an opening sale.

Awesome videos, really appreciate it. Quick questions, 6:51 in you state regular way settlement for corporate/muni is t+1 and regular way settlement for gov bonds is t+2… isn’t it the other way around? Taking my test this Saturday and this just threw me backwards lol

For the political contributions section you mentioned around 9:00, I was reading from another source that you can donate $350 per election cycle to a candidate if you can vote for them, and $150 per election cycle to a candidate if you cannot vote for them. Has that rule changed in the last year or so?

There is test questions about program disclosure. There is test questions about the official statement.
Program disclosures would be about 529s and LGIPs.
Official Statement is the prospectus like document used in underwriting municipal bonds.
Is your outline with all your sub notes available to print?

Hi Dean, I failed my SIE by 3 points last week, I wish I found you sooner prior to my first test but I wanted to ask. I had a few questions on Beta coefficients and I was lost figuring out what those were. Is there a section you have that talks about those?
Beta is a measurement of a stock or mutual fund's volatility as compared to the market. It is a definitional answer. A very strange or add draw to even get Beta on the SIE and even more odd or strange to get more than one.
@@Series7Guru very interesting. I remember one question went something like “if the beta coefficient is greater than 1.0 is the interest rate. Increasing, decreasing, or staying the same. And I fully guessed in the dark

They ask the question... I s the fourth market negotiated, otc, a couple others, not between institutions though
The fourth market is direct trading between institutions. The third market is listed securities traded OTC. OTC markets are negotiated quote driven markets. Exchange markets are auction order driven markets.

One of the questions I had a hard time was “A countries currency exchange rate has increased, what is the outcome.” Would this be good or bad for their economy?
It would make their imports go up and exports go down. Negative for their balance of trade.

You can find thecFINRA practice exam on their website. There are also 4 additional practice exams in the SIE playlist here. One from me, one from TestGeek and 2 from Kaplan
Are corporate bonds T+1 and corporate securities T+2?
All corporate securities, stocks and bonds, are T+2. Very testable. Municipals are also T+2. Options and Treasuries are T+1

Not a dumb question. Need a bigger data set. More scores on more practice exams. Assuming you have not memorized it is a good indication that are where you need to be.
The SIPC covers $500k per account, not customer. Right?

If I have two different accounts with different account numbers and the firm goes into SIPC liquidation that is one account for SIPC purposes.
You are turning what should be an aim and shoot, point and click question into a judgement that will not be on your exam.
