Grenada years ago *1950s*

I came across this video a while back and I knew I wanted to use it as part of other video ideas I had. However, it sat there and I couldn’t put it into perspective so I decided to post it as it is.
This video is believed to have been produced in the 1950s. It shows different aspects of Grenada including the production of sugar cane, which was popular back then. The video also shows what we know as Carriacou and Islands leading up to it. These Islands were called the grenadines back then. Enjoy🇬🇩

A bit of info.for us Grenadian seniors about the white building up on the hill ,Santa Maria [I think].It was renamed "The Islander ".I was a fete goer and played music with a "Combo" called The Maniacs there.[Had to put a plug in ] LoL

Aw my grandparents would have still been there then❤️ they moved to UK along with my uncles in the 60s and had 3 more boys. One uncle moved back and still have other great uncles and aunties and cousins living there. It’s been 20 years since I visited beautiful Grenada😔, but we keep in touch with the internet🇬🇩🇬🇩

That’s so lovely is the hotel where they stayed still there. That lovely lady must have passed away who worked at hotel. My lovely mum would have been around 15-16 years old from Caracou
