    Es uno de los videos mas hermosos que he visto. Debes estar orgullosa de haber hecho un maravillosos instrumento y por supuesto de haberlo tocado! Felicitaciones. Muchas bendiciones y espero que hayas hecho más violines!

    Rebecca,, I am sorry that You Tube allows me to give you only one Thumb Up, would like to give a hundred. Totally beautiful. And I love that you thanked your parents in the credits. I started playing violin 61 years ago and have started rounding up tools and materials to make my first violin. Your video is inspirational and I thank you for posting. Please, where can I get the plate tuning software that you mention?Many thanks and best regards,Fred

    Mr. Draper if you watched the video all the way through you'll know exactly who played the piece (very well might I add). She's a very talented violinist and obviously a master woodsman lol (I saw papa helping).. beautiful piece. Looks as if you're already doing great things with it.

      Tobore Yalaju search for the violin maker Davide Sora from Cremona. He provides excellent step by step videos that you will profit from even as a beginner. He is a true master and a perfectionist. But never mind. It helped me tremendously with my first instrument. He provides english info in the description. Give it a try. It is truely rewarding.

      Apart from the use of a few modern tools, I think that this art has not changed much since the old masters built their legendary instruments. Very impressive!

    I would like to see a video exclusively showing how the top and back are carved to the correct depth and thickness. No one seems to show that. Did you used aged maple and beach and from old growth?

    • @callumissocoollikf
      @callumissocoollikf 7 років тому +1

      I am thinking, something along the line of equalizer analysis, for the sound that is made when the wood is tapped at various points, as for specifically what is desired i don't know, but there is a website that goes into great detail about it if you want to filter through the information. www.platetuning.org/

      Probably a patch repair, she must have gone too far when chiselling down the plate's thickness, i.e. cracked through creating a massive whole.

    if I had the time and patience and right tools to build one my self I would. I like wood work but I would fear I would mess up in the process of building it.
    guess I should have built one in school when I was taking wood work..

    Very nice video, but the violinist butchered this piece to the degree that I needed to turn off the volume. Who is that on the recording? This concerto is much too difficult for their level of technique...

      It is the same person who created the instrument, you asshole. She made the violin and proceeded to play this beautiful music on it. If you finished watching the video after you muted it, you'd know.

    glued in labels :/ why bother graduating the things at all in the first place if yr just going to glue in a damper off to one side of the sound chamber??
    use pencil to sign it, or just use a bit of formed plywood instead

    • @BrianTimmonsTX
      @BrianTimmonsTX 4 роки тому +1

      Stradivari, Guarneri, Amati, among others labeled their work in the same way, and I dare say they knew what they were doing.

    • @Ghryst
      @Ghryst 4 роки тому

      @@BrianTimmonsTX i dare say they, lacking the precise measurements of modern science, didnt know what the fuck they were doing, and that you are romanticising inferior instruments in favour of supreme musical talent.
      ideological bias confirmed.
