i totally agree that it’s okay to follow trends as long as its within your sense of style! i have multiple items of clothing that i thrifted that have been trendy over the past year but i always make sure any piece i get is something i know i would get a lot of wear from and are akin to my current style :)
I think my personal favorite was the quiet luxury trend mainly because of the focus on classic and good quality items rather than large branding and super recognizable logos. I have so many of my mom's clothes that I wear to work or just to go out and meet friends for coffee because they're such good quality and my mom's personal style is very much "quality, good tailoring, classic cuts" which do prove to be timeless. That's also been my approach to fashion and although I do add the occasional fun pieces they're usually still inspired by the classic cuts but with a twist.

Yesss this is the perfect way to look at it! You can still have fun with trends but don’t make that your whole wardrobe
